Wow - that was an outstanding clip. [heavy on my own personal bias, obviously], but they obviously didn't give it to just one person - it would appear the producers wanted to put forth the message that it was viable and so picked someone that was able to instantly quit with it. As we've seen here, that isn't always the case. It could have been skewed in horrible ways and wasn't.

Cant believe any smoker would be 'grossed out' by an ecig. They are so much cleaner all around! I can smeel smoke from a mile away now... and the stench just hangs on peoples clothes. Now THAT is GROSS!

I can. Not everyone wants to or has the time to meddle with juice. I can see why some think it is gross. At least the d.i.y. can be nasty when blowing out your atty's and such. I think most of the population would just exchange carts rather than mod the filler and d.i.y. But at the moment it is too expensive. I can definately forsee people frowning and turning their nose up at my personal d.i.y. .... lab looking station.

Wow! Personally, I can stand RR either (and I don't think she's hot, ugh!) but it was a very interesting clip to watch as well as the other clip.

I, too, think that these are good clips that give a true representation of what the e-cig can do. It's good to know that there are others out there who feel the the FDA is full of s*** and bow far too much to political "science".

I am going to have to agree with those who think RR is an idiot!!!! I just watched that video and although it gives e smoking exposure, it also made it sound like "lets just ban everything, smoking, ecigs............why not ban nicotine patches????? Or nicortte gum??? I don't see where the doc was really advocating ecigs. They were making it sound like we are still getting bunches of toxins just less. JMO.

Not everyone wants to or has the time to meddle with juice.

Count me in that number. I have enough complications doing the day-to-day life stuff that I want to keep my e-cig as simple as possible. It's all about the fresh cartos for me, so I guess I'm just willing to pay for the convenience. I *am* saving my favorites in the event that I do want to start filling or mixing my own, but that day is still well over the horizon

I like Rachael Ray. There was a time I didn't, then I actually watched an episode and decided her voice could be overlooked. I looove to cook, and she's taught me a lot of things.

That being said, I wish she would have let the doc finish his sentences. So many times it seemed he was trying to say something, and she would cut him off & try to finish his words for him. Boooo. I'll probably post something on her message board or send her an e-mail, try and explain to her how important these things are to some of us, and she shouldn't poo-poo it.

If she is a former smoker, I'm really surprised at her ignorance. She should know nicotine is a horrible addiction to overcome. It is for me anyway! So hard that I'm content in giving up the rest of the crap in cigs, and keeping the nic with my e-smokaroonies.

:p Yumalish and what-not.

I don't like it when someone bashes something they know nothing about.

Do you bash those people for bashing stuff they know nothing about? If so, I assume you know a lot about bashing people about stuff you know a lot about. Which leads me to believe you know a lot about bashing people. <headasplode>FUUUUUUUUUUU</headasplode>

Did anyone else notice that after the Dr said it was not "icky" that she started holding it like a cigarette and doing the pre-drag lip lick?

How could you SAY such a horrible thing! She's obviously completely inexperienced with the icky cigarette thingies!

from what i've read, it was some good press for e-cigs.

but i, too, cannot tolerate the sound or sight of rachel ray. *shudders* i tried to watch it to see what the doc said but i couldn't get that far. she makes my teeth hurt, like nails on a chalkboard.
Shes cool if you stick strictly to the google image search.:p

maybe that is the basis of her it's icky reaction...that she is a former smoker and had a tough time quitting and here she has to hold an e-cig...welcome back temptation and cravings.. like asking a recovering alcoholic to hold your drink for a minute...

Not saying that I can stand her at all cuz I can't...but I can understand where her reaction might be coming from..damn if she doesn't need a mute button though..

Drozd - I totally appreciate what you're saying (on both counts. I cranked the "Harpy Screech Equalization Filter" to the bottom (some mistake it for a volume control) and cranked the Brightness up as far as it would go, but she just didn't get any smarter. ;) ) but I am a big proponent in full disclosure.

"Pardon me. I used to smoke but quit those nasty things before this ever came out, so I just am really uncomfortable even handling things containing nicotine."

If she'd just dropped that right there, boom, the doctor could have been briefed before hand to say "good for you!", the grip turns on the "APPLAUSE" light, she smiles for the camera, moves on. If it'd gone down that way, I could even have some respect. And she would have won serious brownie points the world over. And it would have cut into the [lengthy] segment five seconds.

She's just lookin a little too comfortable with a cigarette between her fingers. That bent-finger hold in the first picture, and the gesturing through the second and third picture - too natural. Ex, maybe. Never? not.
