I agree with you in essence, but think you are being too conservative (and may have reversed the order of events). I expect to see e-cigs sold at gas stations (and convenience stores) within 6 months. The tremendous recent increase in analog prices is driving smokers to cheaper alternatives. The recent immigrants who run so many convenience stores are not bound in American traditions and are constantly looking for (non-traditional) ways to support themselves and their families. [I believe that Smoking Everywhere, or at least the distribution center here in South Florida, is run by Israelis.]

Big Tobacco is set in its ways, but is not stupid (and also wants to make a buck, well, megabucks). So sometime in 2010 for them (not knowing much about that industry, I'm not sure who'll be first).

I posted my own thread about this today, because I was shocked, without searching to see if anyone else had already posted about it. I'm of two minds about it. I like to see the word being broadcast, but on the other hand, I worry that it is a shady dealer ala smoking everywhere, or smoke assassin. If only this forum had a gazillionaire member to produce info spots about the real benefits of vaping, and the upstanding suppliers on this forum, who don't make false claims, or require monthly fees. Still trying to wrap my mind and others whom I love that you can vape guilt free about harming yourself or others. (Well, as far as we know; we're not harming ourselves.) Funny how ingrained the demonization is, but that's another topic.

My local liquor store and a local smoke shop already carry e-cigs. They are not the best models but available at retail here.

Yep, here in Huntington Beach too. They were at my regular tobacco shop. They were called VapCigs. They were a little like a 901. They were my first e-cig. I dumped it after 3 days for a 510.

i know that smokestik had their product available at convenience stores here in Toronto. Health Canada was quick to send out their warning, that e cigs should not be sold as they weren't properly tested... whohohoooo .. so now, it's just the internet up here.

if anyone else has anything to add, i would like to see what you know!

FAQ

Q:
Does the Inhalerette come with nicotine cartridges?

A:
The Inhalerette Starter Kit (SKU SK0100N) does not include any nicotine products. We recommend Nhale Cartridges (nhale cartridges). Some of our Starter Packages are bundled with Nhale Cartridges you will find these on our website and available for order by calling 1-888-726-5398.

Q:
How will I know what cartridges or refills that I should buy for my Inhalerette?

A:
Compatible cartridges are marked with the 2% logo and are size number "1". At this time the only company offering a compatible product is Nhale Cartridges. We recommend 2% branded products because the membership requirements for obtaining this brand include a 2% test rule. This means that the products are screened in an approved laboratory for chemical consistency, toxicity and biological agents. While screening alone cannot guarantee the safety of a product, we believe that this effort at self-regulation to provide an inhaled product of high quality is an important process

Do they Mean Nhaler? Is this you Drew?
