The FDA I'm not too concerned about. Big tobacco on the other hand i have a bit of concern. My sister works for Phillip Morris and she said that there cig-alike will be on the shelves in indiana in August. With their money and political influence, i worry that they will do what they can to chase off all the "small time" vape manufactures, and we will only be able to vape disposable carto's at a inflated taxed price.

You're speculations about Big Tobacco's vision of killing off the competition
is a concern of many ... However, I suggest the e-cig phenomenon is
way too diverse today for them to seriously contemplate trying to kill off
all the competition.

The e-cig phenomenon is not just about a variety of products ...
it's an enormously world-wide popular electronic hobby phenomenon.

If it wasn't for the extremely popular wold-wide electronic hobby thing ...
I would be equally concerned.

Will BT eventually try muscle out competition ...
They'll try ... Not going to fly ... but they'll try.

and of course "Mommie FDA" who oppose e-smoking
and they are a bur under our saddle.

However, the bottom line is ...

If I was on the Board of a BT Company, I would be quick to realize that my company would have a Very Hard Time competing in a Free, somewhat Entrenched, Market.

And just like Bill Gates realized that Hardware wasn't the Key, that it was Software. For e-Cigarettes, Hardware isn't what is Important, it's the e-Liquid.

So I would Exert All the Power at my command to make sure that e-Liquids could Not Be Sold, in any Form, by Anyone but BT.

So you are Definitely right to be Concerned about BT. But don't lose sight of about the Only Way BT can/will achieve it's Goal of Market Dominance.

And that is will the Willing help of the FDA and the Department of Human Services.

I should also note that behind their electronic cigarette display they have a small rack of ejuice refill bottles in a variety of flavors.
I never noticed that before until I went back there to get the names of the products yesterday.

Also, I know that a few of the people that work there have quit smoking using electronic cigarettes.
I also know that there are a few of the people that work there that still smoke.

It turns out the younger members of the "family business" are the ones that used them to quit.
And the older members don't seem to care and are not very interested in them other than making money off them.

Without a doubt, there are some things that we learn from our children, instead of the other way around. My guess is that a percentage of the older members will follow suit at some point in the near future when they're ready.

It could also be a cultural thing perhaps, given that the people that own this liquor store have a specific cultural background.
It should be interesting to see if the older members come around some day.

Without a doubt! I've become buddies with the new local B&M owner, as he's around my age (late 40's); his clientele is overwhelmingly the under-30 crowd. I go down there once or twice a month just to hang out, maybe buy something, and I've only seen one customer around our age; tons of youngsters. Those darn kids, and their newfangled gadgets... blasted whippersnappers!


The place is always packed! Barely get to talk to the guy because he's so busy, and he's got a couple youngsters who help out talking to customers, showing them gear, explaining vaping, etc.... I think they get free juice. He's really doing well.

One thing I've been surprised about is the number of people who come in who don't smoke, and just want to vape "socially". The owner STRONGLY warns them about nicotine and basically steers them into zero nic juice. I just don't get it, nor does he, but he's not going to refuse to sell to them as long as they are over 18. He said a lot of them will try it for a little while, then give up on it - the gear winds up in a drawer. Like I said, I don't get it.
