The overwhelming vast majority couldn't care less about e-cigs.
Just the few whiners that throw their little obnoxious temper tantrums
that cause e-cigs to be included in smoking bans

The truth is getting out there ... I see more and more as time goes on
e-cigs being excluded from smoking bans.

The ANTZ will always stamp their feet and throw their childish temper tantrums.
In time ... fewer and fewer will pay any attention to them.

This country is bankrupt and the Unemployment is off the wall ...
Americans have a lot more to worry about than the war
against harm reduction.

RANT

Am I the only one that thinks banning smoking every where
is a little more than childish ?? Really ...

I know smoking is bad for ya and others shouldn't have to
be subjected to breathing smoke ... but bars and clubs should
have the right to permit smoking if they wish and could post
smoking is permitted. Those who don't want to be around
smoking have choices.

Smoking outside being banned is even more childish

Banning behavior has become a national past-time.

3 years ago ... A friend told me that there will be a day
in the future, when "The State" will tell ya what your
permitted and not permitted to eat. He also said that
in the future you will be told ya can’t even smoke in
your own home. I laughed.

I posted on another thread: The Nanny State’s Ultimate Goal
is to ban Personal Responsibility. The State will tell you what
you can and can’t do … What you can and can’t say is already
being controlled by Political Correctness laws enacted by …
Heck, I don’t think anyone knows who enacted the PC laws.
We now have words, which can only be said by referring to
letters in the alphabet.

I’m not even going to touch the subject that “The State”
now requires purchasing something or be subjected to the
wrath of the enforcement arm of the law … the IRS.

If it walks, talks, and quacks like a Tax then its a Tax ... DA

No matter what the Nanny State does … Its always followed by:
Its good for ya or its in your best interest. If ya don't agree ...
then you don't care about others. However, the laws remain
and will be enforced. Ya try to sell food "The State" doesn't
approve ... The cops will show up with their guns.

Tons of laws and regulations and new ones being added everyday.
Apparently there's some kind of law stating ya can only repeal
1 law a year.

Its much more than smoking or e-smoking or freedoms to choose
what to eat or not to eat ... its all about the Nanny State.

Rants really don't serve much of a purpose ...
other than letting off some steam.

What this country is loosing is citizens with the ability
for "critical thinking" ... The Nanny State is thrilled!

PS: My Rant ... No I'm not going to be voting for
"4 More Years"

Your post above is not a rant.
In fact, your post above is not even a prediction.

Everything you say is happening, or in the process of happening.

There are schools that are telling parents what is acceptable for their children to bring to lunch.

New York Mayor Bloomberg has recently attempted to ban salt in restaurants.
And he is currently trying to ban sodas over 16 ounces.

Oh, I guess I'm okay with that you might say...

Until they want to ban Fettuccine Alfredo.
Or hamburgers.
Or beer.

Sure, let's save everyone from themselves.
And make sure to ban cars while you're at it, since they kill more people than everything listed above.

Or maybe, just maybe, let's go back to what this country was founded on.
Personal choice, freedom, and responsibility.

You take care of yours, I'll take care of mine, and be ready to deal with the consequences of your actions.
That was the America I grew up in, but that America is being destroyed one law at a time.

And we are all complicit for sitting here and watching it happen in front of our eyes.
[/RANT]

EDIT: I guess I needed a good rant, it has been awhile

Part of the problem is something that is fast becoming one of my biggest pet peeves- people in this country seem to think they have the right to never be offended.

We seem to think that if something is offensive, it should also be illegal.

I hate the smell of stale cigarette smoke. Hate. It's offensive to me, so you, my government, must protect me from it at all costs, and I don't care what personal freedoms that might infringe upon- nobody likes offensive things except offensive people, and they don't matter.

I also hate the smell of ck one and Drakkar Noir, and in fact, I want all men's cologne and aftershave banned except for Jovan Musk for Men, period.

As for women, none of us knows when to say when with any kind of scent, so we're only allowed scented lotions now.

Speaking of women, I don't like seeing new mothers breast-feeding. It makes me feel icky, so that needs to be taken care of as well. And don't you dare try to change a diaper in public- that's just too gross. Take your smelly little monster home and stay there til you can both be decent in public.

And tee-shirts promoting local beachy or lake-side recreation areas that reference getting sand in your crack. They are in extremely poor taste, and I don't want my kids exposed to that level of low-brow humor anymore. They will never get lucrative jobs in the entertainment industry if that's the sort of thing that passes for humor to them.

Large men with rear-view cleavage issues- wear suspenders and a belt- it's the law.

Low slung jeans on anyone over the age of 18 or under the age of 18. You only get to wear them for that one year, period.

I have all sorts of wonderful ideas on how society could be improved if no one was ever allowed to offend anyone else for any reason. Oh, and by the way, put down those cheetos- I don't approve of that muffin top you're getting, and your orange fingers are becoming really unattractive, too.

HOW DARE YOU! I am offended and will personally PM every moderator on here until you apologize. And if that doesn't work I am writing congress and starting a protest group. Soon after I will be all over daytime TV talk shows letting just everyone know how offended I am.

If I had my way, I'd ban all country music.
So all you country music fans, keep an eye out.

Oh and dont even get me started on you. HOW DARE YOU have different tastes in music than me! Just you wait bucko; Im forming a Political Action Committee whose sole purpose in life is to lobby your congressman to have you deported until you acknowledge just how offensive your opinions are with a live apology on prime time tv. Then I will sue you in civil court for 12.7 million dollars because of all the emotional trauma you have caused me.

NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO DO ANYTHING ANYWHERE EVER THAT I DO NOT APPROVE OF!!!!! I WILL IMPOSE MY WILL ON ALL YOU FOOLISH MORTALS FOR I AM THE ALPHA AND THE OMEGA! THE PINNACLE OF HUMAN EVOLUTION WHOSE OPINIONS MATTER MOST!!!

Yeah see the above is what I hear in my head every time some busybody nanny-stater tries to ban Happy Meals, soda, Tobacco, or whatever else it is they deem unacceptable at the time.

Don't you realize that singing about dead dogs and cheating on your spouse is the leading cause of depression and divorce?
This is most certainly not something our precious little children should be exposed to!!

Well, anyway, that is the defense I will use when you sue me.
And you know I will win, because the Nannies will want to protect us from such things.

It doesn't even need to be true, it just needs to sound good.

The leading cause of a busybody nanny-stater being able to impose their will on normal people, is the people that are "too busy" to VOTE on the second Tuesday of EVERY November!

And to vote for someone you actually agree with on most issues, rather than liking how they comb their hair, or they have a nice voice and sound good on TV, or they would be fun to have a beer with....

p.s. Vocalek, the topic is Ranting!!! ...

Wait - I love country music and buy my husband Drakkar Noir (it literally makes me swoon, lol!) ;)

Smokers tried to warn people years ago that using junk science and excessive regulations against smokers and smoking was going to expand to other things. No one believed them.

Not one month after New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg asked the Big Apple's Board of Health to ban the sale of sugary drinks larger than 16 ounces, bureaucrats there now are targeting big containers of popcorn, milkshakes and milk-containing coffee drinks.

Members of the New York City Board of Health -- who are weighing the big-drink ban at most retail outlets, excluding grocery stores -- met last Tuesday in Queens, N.Y., and wondered aloud what they could target next.

They discussed the massive containers of popcorn that New Yorkers and other Americans like to eat while watching Iron Man beat up villains. They fretted about the milkshakes and coffee creations that many Americans sip while going over work on a laptop at an eatery that has a wireless hot spot.

As an aside, let me just note that those filthy cigarette smokers were right, back in the day. Cigarettes were just an opening salvo in the nanny-state wars. Remember how it began, with just those oh-so-reasonable restrictions? Now look. First they came for the smokers, but I did not smoke so I said nothing. By the time they came for my teaspoon of sugar for the Cheerios, there was no one to speak for me.

Thanks Petrodus.

Oh! I forgot this one - it's the most blatant!

But that isn't enough, say public health leaders frustrated with the slow progress in stemming America's obesity epidemic.

Something more ambitious is needed, they argue — something more like the anti-tobacco movement.

Obesity fight needs ambitious campaign, health leaders say

Read the article and then read this excellent blog post by the brilliant Chris Snowdon: http://velvetgloveironfist.blogspot.com/2012/05/food-is-new-tobacco-part-94.html
