What someone told me that was sort of a load off is that ALL batteries whether double A's or laptop batt or phone batt all have the chance of exploding. It's the chemicals inside and in the right circumstance it'll blow. So as long as you maintain proper battery safety and care you should be fine.

Stacked batteries are OK. A few ground rules.
1) Always keep your pair together. Don't mix and match once used the 1st time. Label the 1st set each with an "A", next pair with "B" etc...

2) Always use protected batteries when stacking. Or otherwise in my opinion. There are battery holders with a built in PCB protection if you are modding.

3) Always buy your batteries from a reputable source. Be skeptical of any 18650's advertising more than 2400 mAh.

4) Calculate your amps with a free Ohm's law calculator. Stay at 3 amps or below for the majority of PV's out there. If you want more wattage, best to do more volts and more ohms, it draws less amperage.

Thanks for the tips. I might go dig up my mod now.

People generally feel a little apprehensive about the new and strange. Media outlets tend to be ok with perpetrating that. About the only thing to do is explain to people how things are. Or, not. Everyone knows someone who basks in their ignorance about a wide range of subjects, best to leave them on their own. As e-cigs become more commonplace, the mystique will fade and nobody will really pay them much attention. The news will go back to reporting about Snooki giving up tanning salons.

Couldn't say it better myself.
