This is actually bad news.....This means that they will most definitely put taxes and restrictions on e-cigs to get their revenue to balance out again.
Don't get me wrong I'm glad people are switching to e-cigs and quitting "Analogs"
Actually regulations are good from a business prospective. It all depends on how far the regulations go. When you have something that is an unknown, when it's a huge possibility that a harsh regulation will be put into place - investors, large corporations, money men/women will not want to invest. It's too large of a risk/reward.
If you get at least some basic regulations in place, you will start to see the market flourish. You will start to see more cash pushed into the consumables (juices, cartos, batteries, heads) and you will start to see top notch designers. You will start to see prices for mods come down. You will (in theory) start to see some quality controls in that market.
I am actually a person for regulation, but again a light-handed regulation. Let's see some standards come out for Nic levels. Lets see some requirements around testing. Let's see requirements for safety in batteries. A light handed approach will still allow your small business / medium businesses enter the market and live. It will also give large corporations to start doing R&D into new mods, new batteries, new forms of delivery of vapor.
I will now get off my soap box
