I think I'm getting my justfog tomorrow. The courier contacted me by email saying there was something on the way. I thought it was my order from Amazon but it originated in China and I have have never bought anything from China lol. Then I realized it must be my tank. Can't wait to get it!

Before reading this realize this is no way a reflection of ECF, Just Fog or displeasure with the giveaway and I am merely letting you all know the outcome of the plight with DHL.
OK so, as you all know I had been seeing what I could accomplish with the duties and fees that was charged by CBSA and DHL on these prizes. In my contact with DHL they advised me the fees are derived from the $10 they charge for one reason and the $5 they charge for another while the rest is charged from CBSA. So 3 quarters of the charges is actually DHL because of having to pay CBSA for the duties and fees required for this package. I asked how I can get these reversed as they are incorrect fees as this item was free to me as a result of a contest. They asked me to get a revised invoice showing that it was a gift from the shipper to have duties and fees reevaluated.
I contacted Just Fog and told them of the duties and fees and what DHL was requesting to have the fees and duties re-evaluated. They promptly sent the requested document and wished me luck also said if anything else was necessary to let them know. I reached back out to DHL and gave them the document through the method they stated with all the required info.
They messaged me back several days later and said duties and fees will still be charged, as the gift status will not apply on this item, in the amount of $21.42 Canadian for both shipments. Needless to say I cant justify it nor do I have 44.84 to pay on the items.
I have since contacted Just Fog with the outcome and advise them while I do appreciate the winnings I cannot accept the packages with the current duties and fees being charged by DHL. I am still super happy for winning and super happy with the service by Just Fog. I am very disappointed to have won and not being able to collect my prize. Unfortunately it also means the tank that was going to be given away to my dad to help him quit is also being returned as a result of this.

yep, I was gonna warn you but where you said you had the email from the courier I assumed the email you got was the same as the text I got. PST is lower tax then HST which is why yours is less then mine.
Yep I feel bad that I cant pay for it because Just Fog took the time to send it to us, and ECF took the time to host and keep all the event in order. I know its a lot of work and now either just fog will have to pay shipping to get the 2 packages sent back to them or DHL "destroys" them. The alternative is I pay the cost of them to get the free giveaway (which I cant). I messaged Just Fog back about it all so I am hoping that they can work something out with DHL for it but I am not holding my breath LOL.

I was gonna send the extra justfog to someone else to help out.I explained your problem with DHL and canada to him,he said by all means send it to you..just pm me your addy so I can check,let me ask the post office beforehand what it entails to get this to you,get back to you tomorrow.paperwork etc.

I paid the $17 and got my tank last night. Not sure what the cost is to buy one but here in Canada even a nautilus mini is over $30-35 so I don't mind. My problem is, I can't get coils for it in Canada yet, nor too many places in the states that I see. I don't build and never will. I love the look of the tank. It is a bit taller than the mini but really thin. It came with 2 coils so I haven't tried it yet. Hopefully the coils will be more readily available soon. They are teeny tiny lol.

Well Unless I'm missing something this tank is going to need an adapter to fit on anything but a ego style battery. It's a nice looking tank but I won't really have much use for it as it seems outdated and just came out. I got it
DHL called me on Monday and advised of the duties, it was an automated message so I call them back and told them not to deliver. They insisted on delivering so another waste of time and fuel for them. As nlgeekdad said it is an unfortunate situation and in no way reflects on ECF or Justfog. I was going to give mine to my son to pass on to one of the young guys just starting out where he works.
Did a quick search.
Anything with a declared value over $20 cad is taxable. If the value declared
was $14 us or under, you wouldn't have gotten dinged. Some genius in your
government hasn't clued into the fact that inflation exists and that amount should
be drastically increased. Maybe they think it's still 1867.

An adapter costs under $2 at most vendors, it is a 510 to Ego. I sub ohm so I didn't think the tank was for me either, but I got an adapter and put it on one of my mods at 17 watts and it has good flavor and clouds. Yep but when its a gift item under $60 is not taxable funny thing is every other time I get vape mail that is (even over $20) I do not get charged the fees and duties only when it comes via DHL and they charge well over the necessary. But either way what can you do? I really happy that ding is hooking me up and I am gonna have one very happy pappy when he gets it
DHL charged me about $28 in customs and their handling charges for the Justfog tank. Part of the problem here was also caused by Justfog. On the shipping invoice they'd listed the item as "Justfog S14 Starter Kit". But what I received was the S14 clearomizer and not the starter kit which comes with an ego style battery + the S14 clearomizer.
Any decent instructions for the justfog? I can't figure out how to completely take it apart. Maybe I will have more luck once the two vape tweezers arrive.
