ECF responds to an anonymous complaint

Speaking as someone who has been reprimanded and censored, ECF is a class act and there is no equal (for me). I no longer even bother with any other forums because the members and content here are continuously extraordinary.

Old Soldier, I salute you. And I will continue to support you for as long as I continue vaping.

Oldsoldier and others I know the thread in question and the situation and I see nothing wrong with the way you handled it. I have had a post of mine edited for content and in some cases I felt like the offending word was necessary to pose my point but on the other hand I can see the greater good in editing it. Either way I know when I joined ECF that the rules are the rules and the Moderators decision is final. Sorry but if we want a clean spam free and positive place to discuss vaping thats what it has to be. In the case of the above issue Oldsoldier is right. I have searched for a lot of E Cigarette related topics on google and all roads lead to ECF. ECF helped me navigate the newbies world of vaping. What if someone looking to switch to vaping saw that thread as the first thing that came up on google. As well yes given what the FDA is currently deciding upon and their attitude towards vaping this is not publicity the community needs.

I just wanted to say that in my short time here on the forum I have discovered a wealth of knowledge without having to wade through the usual childish arguing and bashing back and forth. Everyone I have had discussions with on here are very respectful and always willing to help out. Keep up the good work mods and everyone else that helps make this forum great.

After reading anonymous' post I can definitely say I have a new appreciation for proper punctuation. If you want to be taken seriously you should write in a manner that projects maturity and intelligence, not like a 9 year-old who just ate 4 bowls of Cap'n Crunch w/ Crunchberries.

On topic: I went to another forum for the first time the other day and even as a retired sailor the language made me blush. It's like they cuss just because they can. I believe the F word is a noun, a verb, and an adverb but, I don't use it all the time because it offends people. Only one other word I think people find more offensive and I don't use it at all. I feel the Mods do as good a job as possible and I enjoy the forum so Old Soldier, keep up the good work.

I'd also like to say , to the best of my knowledge, ECF is a private forum for members and guests. Posting here is a privilege, not a right. Which is all part of the agreement we all scrolled through and did not read when we signed up. I just hope oldsoldier does not decide to turn me into a human-centi-pad as part of paragraph 5 subsection 42 of the sites EULA.

It always strikes me as crazy when people complain about censorship in a privately operated forum. One can disagree with this or that decision that the forum operators make, but it's never a free speech issue.

It is actually a property owners right issue. I like to tell people okay, so if I come into your house and verbally abuse your wife you won't throw me out because you are such a defender of free speech?

Oh and the freedom of speech protections in the first amendment only protect you from the government. Amazing how little people in the United States know about their own rights...

I agree with Matt- I choose ECF over the others because I can't stand the language on the others. On one of them, there is little to no ecig-related discussion even happening. I appreciate the time it takes the mods to keep a handle on things.

I have used this argument several times. Another way to say it is The First Amrndment gives you the right to say something, but does nothing to guarantee you a venue in which to say it.

When I was digging for info before the switch , all i heard is that ECF is THE place to go. Almost everything I know is from this site. The tone set here is that of an actual community. I feel like I am talking to adults not in a sea of childish bickering fools. (certain other forums) I couldn't think the mods enough for that. As for the vender pages, I don't know many other place where you can talk directly to the people your ordering from online. It gives it the brick and mortar feel.

Meh, I like this forum and the folks on it. The complainers are more than likely just trolls. The people here have helped me TREMENDOUSLY with anything I need and I am quite certain will continue doing so as that is the nature of the great people here. No complaints from this guy, I'm still vaping strong thanks to you all.
