I was informed yesterday that I can no longer use my ecig at work because "it looks like a cigarette and doesn't look good in the public's eye" Over the past couple of months Ive had the luxury of using my ecig at work, no one complained. But one of my co workers this week raised a complaint to my supervisor and low and behold, no more esmoking for me.

I guess I'll have to leave the premises like the rest of the analog smokers and take a 10minute break!

wow, that's REALLY lame...

I've turned on a number of my coworkers to vaping... we even have folks on passthroughs at their desks now.. lol.

Everyone at my work thinks they're cool as ****. It's still a select group, but we get new members every week, and many interested future analog quitters are interested to the point of "next paycheck i'm getting one" kinda thing...

how would they know if you sneak a toke it though?? Not like anyone will smell it, just have to go underground with it... I vape mine in the closet, and the bathroom at work even still b/c i'm afraid of the Doctors and directors giving me a hassle over it, but, i doubt they'd care...

Sorry to hear that, they obviously don't know what vaping is all about...

I'm the manager for the company I work for, and we encourage smoker to switch to the vaping. Not only does the productivity improve due to less breaks, it also helps to reduce the company group insurance rates.:) the less smoker's you employ, the lower the company insurance rates. The insurance companies do not penalize you for vaping.:)]

Pretty much the reason I bought the stick..... it fits in the hand, I can sneak a quickie, hold in the vape, double inhale, and exhale down, through the nose.

So far I've had no troubles being sneaky.

You go girl!!! Be sneaky on 'em!!!!! LOLOL

A very good point, gn... and one vapers should bring up when confronted in the workplace about vaping. Hide it if you must. Better still, find a better job. But if possible, convert non-smokers and antis whenever you can. We need that critical mass when ecigs eventually become a national debate.

My company, a Children's Hospital, just went completey non-smoking on campus a little over a year ago. To be honest, I don't really want to advertise at work out of fear I will be told I can't do it. So, I do it at my desk (I'm in the back corner of the department) where no one can see me. My only fear is someone sneaking up behind me, but I usually hear them coming. :) I have showed the smokers I know, but just don't want to cause all sorts of issues that will lead to them banning these as well.

I completely agree it increases productivity. To smoke, I have to get in my car and leave. My typical 10 minute breaks were increased to 20-30 minutes because I had to get to the parking garage and leave the premises. If I have to do that much, you are darn tootin' I'm gonna have 2-3, so there goes at least 1-2 hours of my day (with 3-4 breaks). LOL I can get a lot done in that time. Companies really need to latch on to these, they are a brilliant productivity booster.
