As I posted in the SE v FDA
thread, it's probably too late for a fledgling organization to influence that case, so if this is going to happen, we need to look to the next battle. Come up with the worst-case scenario, what needs to happen for that worst-case to come to fruition, and prepare counter measures for each step in between. That way we won't be just reacting to events, we'll have a clear plan in place for each one as it happens. Anything pro-active that can be done should be. SPEC seems to have pretty much died (partly my fault, since I got involved elsewhere doing other things, not all of them electronic cigarette related), but I think the core ideas are still sound. We need to work with the manufacturers, the government, and the public to get a quality product freely available to adults that is widely accepted as a safe way to have a smoking experience (with or without nicotine).
That's a lot to do. Let's get rolling.
