I think I asked before but... I've gotten some Renaissance Wax for use on a number of things including my metal mods and a few different wooden items. Is there any reason why it wouldn't work on Phidias also? Or just stick with the mineral oil?

the Phidias is finished in Tung oil....the reason being it sees use, and Tung oil can be reapplied ad infinitum...

A thinking man's finish....just wash it, with a very damp, soapy cloth first to remove any schumtch, then reapply and leave over night!

i bought an older one from the classies that was unusable, thanks to missing parts. after all the dust is settled and i have the new one in hand, i'll prolly send the older one in for a retrophit...

hi,

as a rule I harvest my own stock-- for example what you have pictured is a mesquite burl I chainsawed off a fallen two?hundred year old tree, right here across the road...

the olive ( light colored ) tanker units above are from the old Mormon fort in Vegas -- the cities' arborist is a fan of my work and calls me when he has a special job product...

the stuff on eBay really has no aesthetic interest to me...my bad I guess?
