You started off smart and right. You can spend all kinds of big bucks and not equal the performance of a $2.79 EMDCC on an Ego battery. Of course, everything is a matter of personal tastes, but I haven't heard anyone who didn't like an EMDCC setup. Folks even buy them for use on high dollar mods - why? - outstanding performance. I can compare them to many things, but the EMDCC is still one of my all-time favorites. It's an inexpensive way to have a great vaping experience.

Yep..there's something about these that are just right. I'm using the 510 version (no ego skirt..aka the xxxxl cartomizer, or something like that) on my VV box mod..fantastic! I do think they drain the egos a little too fast, but it's pretty worth it overall. On a 1000mah battery, it actually lasts very long. It's the 650mah battery that maybe lasts a few hours at best.

Just the shear size of the thing and how much it holds is crazy good.

I have been using one on a 1000mAh ego battery for some time now, not bad at all. I have ordered the Ego-510 adapter to test at higher voltages so we'll soon see if I like them as much as others on my mods.

They are very good at an honest 4 volts, maybe 4.2. Doing that as we speak....dang it's good.

Well, here I thought that *I* had an original idea and ordered an adapter to test these on my mods- wish I'd seen this thread , well at least I know it was a Good Idea!

Well, I said I wouldn't post my thoughts until I had used these for 48 hours. I changed my mind. I want to note some initial impressions.

My initial impressions are very mixed. I only ordered three of these. The first one out of the wrapper has bad threads and will not screw on to any eGo or eGo clone I have nor will it screw on to any of my 510 extenders or adapters. Since this has a skirt like the eGo-t or eGo-mega, I can't actually see what's wrong with the threads without cutting it apart. - 1st one bad.

2nd one - better. It threads on to a genuine eGo battery and any of my extenders or adapters just fine. However, the skirt bottoms out before the 510 connector can make full contact on every eGo clone I have. I have a couple of no-name eGo clones I got in the classifieds a while back, and I have a smoke-tech black battery that says "SMOK" on the top, and I have the gold-ring eGo clone that madvapes sells. The skirt bottoms out on all of them and they can not fire on any of those batteries without using a 510 extender/adapter. Using an extender sort of defeats the purpose of using an eGo-specific design. You may as well just use an extender and put it on a mod.

Capacity: I just got in some 10ml bottles of flavors I haven't tried from BWB. The advertized capacity is around 5ml. I got about 3.7 or 3.8 ml in it before I noticed juice dripping out the bottom all over my desk, my keyboard, and my leg. Initial fill capacity is closer to 3.5 or 3.6 ml than it is 5 ml. - As with most polyfill cartos, I think the filler will become more absorbent after a fill or two, so maybe they'll hold 4 to 4.2 ml. I haven't measured the height and circumference of the filler to figure it out exactly, but I do not think they will ever hold 5 ml. 4ml is probably it.

Vapor Performance: Here's where things get better. I was able to get these to work on standard genuine joye batts, and with an extender, I tried them on a couple of mods and also with an extender, i tried them on a couple of eGo clones. At 3.2v on a genuine joye eGo batt, they produce at least as much if not more vapor than an eGo-mega that's working properly. That's very good. They produce a lot of vapor at 3.2. -- They surprised me at 3.7. The vapor was thick and warm almost as good as a standard dual coil at 5.0v. That makes the fact i couldn't get them working without an adapter on my eGo clones pretty disappointing because it would be a really nice match if it worked ( I can see a scenario where a small amount of time with a file could make these work just fine on an eGo clone like the ones I have, but out of the box, this is just unfortunate). -- I just got a 5.0v triple-v out of the classifieds. So, that what I tried these at 5.0v with. It produced a cloud like I've never seen before. I will most certainly be ordering a couple of 510-to-ego adapters so I can use these cartos on my triple v and have it look nice at the same time. All I can say about the cloud of vapor is "WOW".

Flavor: Here's where I screwed up. As I mentioned, the juice I used was a flavor I've never tried before. I have no idea what it's supposed to taste like. -- The flavor I used in he carto I'm testing is BWB Malty toffee. At 3.2 on the genuine joye ego, the flavor is a little weak. At 3.7 the flavor was better (more potent), I suppose, but again: I've never used this flavor on any other device, so maybe I should just quit talking about it... That was not a good choice to be able to share my thoughts. The remaining carto that I haven't used yet will get filled with a flavor I use every day, but that's going to wait until tomorrow.

Other topics I'll mention when I return to this in a couple of days: Wicking, and whether or not I think they'll last. I may even attempt a cleaning on this first one after I've consumed this 10 ml of malty toffee because that's all I have of that flavor.

Yup, it's a Lavatube .. pretty cool .. of my tube mods, it is definitely the largest, still at 5 inches, it's not overwhelming .. here's a pic showing relative sizes of some of my 510 Tubie Family (pardon, I am not a photographer LOL):

l to r: Lavatube, Torpedo, GGTB, Indulgence, Mini-G

I am a noob who started vaping yesterday(we all start somewhere I guess) and I have the EMDCC and really like it alot.

When I was first looking around trying to decide what to get, I have to admit, I was a little intimidated at first because it was my first one and all these veterans were using it. haha

But for any other noobs reading this it was VERY easy to fill, I was a pack a day smoker and filling this once lasts me the entire day with my just topping it off in the evening.

I have the eGo-T battery at 650 and it lasts me half the day before I re-charge it and even then, it is not completely dead, but don't feel like being stuck somewhere without it being charged....especially since it is a 1/2 hour drive home from work!

Pat yourself on the back and holler "GOOD JOB". You bypassed spending all kinds of money on junk that doesn't work properly or doesn't work at all. You did GOOD. You might want to invest in larger batteries for your first upgrades. 1000 mah batteries last a lot longer and might get you home from work without the need of a spare battery.

Here i also use this combo. But lately i get a some weird chemical taste in a new carto. This happend like 5 times, and its a waste of my juice actually. On one fresh carto i got normal flavour but it fell apart when i took it off the KGO! All from SMOK. It sucks.
But when the EMDCC are working normal like the used too i think they are the best. Very easy too fill cuz of their size. I have a J tank too and i tried like 10 carto's that came with it but it just wont work for me. I get a very bad and weird taste. I like the idea and looks off it, but i guess i just stick too the EDMCC's.

@Jen congrats! you DID bypass oodles of nonsense and saved a lot of money and grief. It took me a couple months to convince my wife who was stuck on little batteries. Now that's all she uses, she wears a 1000 mAh eGo battery with an EMDCC on one of those Joye eGo neck hangers.

@Pam I wonder if you're giving it time to soak all the way through, that would sure explain it. How much time are you allowing? It's best to let it sit overnight.

The tried and true first fill method is with a syringe and an 1.5" 18 gauge needle. You draw like 3 ml, and slip the needle between the batting and the carto wall, then inject a little, raise the needle half-way and inject a little, then do it on the diagonal (180 degrees across), then again on the other diagonals. Then drip say 5 drops down the center tube to wet the coil, another 10 drops randomly across the top, and let it diffuse at least an hour, but overnight is best. If the liquid is not fully diffused, they taste bad, and will burn. If some drips down the center, don't worry. To refill, you add say 1.5 ml the same way, but don't have to wait as long. As they age, you have to start saturating them less.
