I think the hysterics over a small gaming feature on a mod are a little over the top. I honestly don't think 1 mod with a gaming mode is going to bring down the wrath of The Powers That Be. From what I have been seeing lately regarding the deeming regs, lawmakers are much more focused on battery safety than they are on the features of the mod. The mods that are getting attention are the unregulated removable battery mods, and I don't agree with THOSE hysterics any more than I agree with your demeaning rant.
Thing is it wont be only one mod, but the entire Joyetech line of upgradeable firmware mod products and When Mike Meyers (Who I am certain would disagree with you) learns of it he will issue a statement something like he did today in response to the deeming regulation:

I believe you saw today after hearing what the deeming regulations were that they were far more sweeping than focusing solely on battery safety and only an act of Congress can change that. When fighting a battle like that little things, like video games in mods don't make it any easier to win that battle. While this focuses more on Liquids, the regulations apply to almost anything that can be construed as vaping related The Rest of the Story: Tobacco News Analysis and Commentary: FDA E-Cigarette Deeming Regulations are a Disaster for Public Health

Oh my I must have this! I have/had 3 eGrips, one OLED CL that I'm currently using, one that I lost while drunk, and another that broke, both which are generation 1 models. I don't care about the game, but I love the tank light and the option to use other atomizers on it! I'm a fairly simple vaper, don't need lots of power, juice capacity, or battery life, so this is perfect for me and I've always loved the egrip mods. The firmware upgrade just makes it even better! Yes yes yes for me!

Sounds like it will be good for you if you are using the CL Version, especially if you never drilled a hole in the CL base like the old RBA had to fix that horrible airflow in the CL models. Great coils but Egrip never had the airflow to allow it to perform properly, the coil would overheat, and I would get that monkey .... rubber taste from that silicone cap on top of the coil. This one will be a definite step up for you.

Part of me still considers this one more of a smaller Cuboid Mini Tank, sitting on a lipo battery, battery with a Cuboid Mini Control Panel than a traditional Egrip but that's just me. If they want to call it an Egrip and it works better than the CL & VT Versions (the last 3 redesigns), so be it!

Really hope you enjoy it! Based on what you said you should love it.

Yeah, I might actually wait till some reviews pop out but I will most likely pick one up when it releases. I prefer a MTL draw so the airflow was never an issue for me, I set it once and pretty much never adjusted it after. I also don't get a rubber silicone taste from the cap, but I do have to agree the coils seem a little inconsistent for me. I've used the CL and CLR coils, as well as older coils that have worked with previous models which I can't even remember now.. I think some sort of Aspire coils or Eleaf coils?

But you are right about the Cuboid aspect. I have the Joyetech Ego AIO mod and have only tried the BF coil that came with it, but I recently picked up some of the Clapton 1.5 ohm coils and I will try that out next. I believe those are suppose to work with the device as well? Even if I don't like those coils, I can still use my own atomizers on it. I wonder if you can have liquid in the eGrip, use the atomizer adapter to use your own tank, and if you want to switch juice real quick, you just take off the adapter and use it like you normally would with the juice inside the eGrip. So far I only see pre-orders for it so... may be a few weeks before it's available.

I would get those burnt hits & monkey .... at 15w and below but by the time I got the CL from FT I was regularly using Subtanks and Lemo and had begun my transition away from MTL. I assume I had my finger on the trigger 3-4 times longer than you did but my experience was I often would have a flooded noisy coil then erratically get burnt/dry hits at the tail of the vape but I'm sure I was pulling harder too, causing more pressure differential and therefore causing Juice to saturate and flood

If they are the Cubis style coils in the Ego AIO and they appear to be they will work. (Notch will not work in AIO though) The CL Egrip worked with CL, CLR using the CL base, CS & Eleaf GS/GS Air coils using the CS base and could be adapted to use Aspire BVD (?) coils by swapping the center pins w/ a CS Coil but it did not allow the CS Base to screw in all the way on the V1, but may have on the CL Egrip IIRC.

Yeah, I saw that. I still think regulating mods is going to be an uphill battle for the FDA. There are ways around that kind of regulation, and I have faith that the vaping community is going to find them. Remember the "modified flashlight?" We have 2 years and 30 days from the start of all of this (probably some time in August) to keep fighting, and I definitely do not plan to just roll over and let this happen. As for marketing to kids, if the FDA isn't attacking Cotton Candy Vodka or any of the soft drink hard drinks, they are going to have a hard time convincing the masses that e-juice is more harmful to kids (who are more likely to drink than to pick up an e-cigarette) than candy flavored alcohol. And the mod thing is going to be even harder to regulate now that more rapid charging devices are hitting the market. If we can charge our cell phones with a mod, how is that much different than a non-dedicated battery pack for charging? The deeming regs are bad, but there is still time to fight them, and we have some pretty good news lately regarding the safety of juices and the non-effects of vaping. I say we keep fighting the good fight and show these yayhoos what's really going on! Vaping saves lives, plain and simple. We just need to keep showing this to be true.

Shame it is taking so long to produce a Billion Lives. That was supposed to have been released BEFORE the Deeming Regs. Now, only an act of congress can strike it down and that will never actually happen. At Best, we might win a mitigation or easement of that 2007 date they imposed and a relaxing of certain economic impact issues.

Yeah, the movie is supposed to release on the 11th. I was thinking the same thing yesterday, that it would have been nice if the regs had come out AFTER that. The FDA is trying to say that these regulations are not restrictive. sheesh.

I preordered mine through VapeSourcing and asked about shipping time. They said they would be receiving and shipping the first batch around May 10-12.

I had never heard of that site, this has been one of my most impulsive buys ever! The potential on this device was huge and like Tpat has mentioned on and on, it's still not perfect, but it checks most of my boxes (I've had really bad luck with EgoOne and Cubis coils).

Preordered in white. Would have preferred gray but there's no gray at the moment. White seems to be cool and fresh, not as boring as black, not as exhuberant as red, almost went with SS, but white gives it character, or something, I don't know what Im saying anymore.

Tpat, did you ever tried the Plato? That would seem to be what you're looking for.

I have Plato. Like the way it was put constructed, but the Tank is messy to fill, way too small & overly complicated. The coils for mtl have a NI200 version available but the DL coils are not manufactured in TC Wires. Plato has no pass-thru charging so it is a brick until charging completes. The DL coils are good but take up all the capacity of tank and wicking slots are high on them so as your tank gets low, you really have to be careful or you will get dry hits or ruin the coil. Rather than Manufacture Ti coils, Aspire has released an update that will eliminate the Ti capabilities of the mod completely. Moronic.

For a posh whitecollar at his 30s making some nice money and beign single the ad looks fitting.
For the large majority doesn't really appeal though might fancy an earring, been 20ish years from me latest.
As far as the device go specs are ok, but won't be a carefree alldaily like good squonker build just right, need to back some extra juice.

It's interesting to me as a new vaper who is definitely a MTL user. I was really considering the Aspire Plato as it seemed to handle MTL well, had a replaceable battery, and ~5 ml hold when using the regular (non subohm) chimney. The negative (to me) about the eGrip 2 is the non-replaceable battery and smaller tank. However, the big thing is the ability to use that atomizer attachment allowing you to put any tank you want on the eGrip 2 if the internal isn't what you want, while on the Plato, you're stuck with the internal tank only.

So the issue for me will really be replaceable battery or any tank option.

Replaceable battery by far is the more useful feature. Doesn't seem to be doing a lot of good to have a tank sitting on top if you can't use it because your waiting for it to charge. The tank mount, while cool, sort of defeats the entire purpose of having an egrip in the first place IMHO. That is just me though.
