Did you see that new VT75 Nano by the way

Oh my! No I haven't. I would actually consider getting one of those since it meets my "base requirements" these days for a mod:

-Small
-Temp control
-Battery cannot fall out if mod is dropped
-No LiPo

I was starting to think that if I wanted a single 18650 dna mod I would have to build it myself (I wasn't interested in the DNA40). Very cool!

I do have a VT133 that just sits in a drawer. I think its mostly the size and not wanting to deal with battery pairs that turned me off. Got it really cheap in a sale though, so its a backup to my backups I guess.

Uhm, doesn't your Dani already meet all those requirements..? :)

I do like the looks of it though. If it would be available right now I'd probably cancel my order for the VT200, but I don't know when they're planning to release it. I haven't even seen a pre-order anywhere yet so I think it'll be at least another month or so before we can buy it.

There's a giveaway for 3 of them right now on Hcigar's Facebook page by the way. I don't do FB myself but if you do you might as well check it out.

It certainly does, and honestly there is little reason for me to get another mod. That said, many of us are in panic mode with the coming regs, and reason seems to have left the building :). You do make a very good point though and I am still trying to decide on my last RDA I will purchase, so the money should probably go there.

Hey, if you want another mod get another mod, lol

...it's probably lighter then a Dani...

I'd really like a Dani myself but so far I haven't been able to bring myself to spend that much on a single mod. I might get there some day though..

It's the build quality, chip, and warranty that sold me on the Dicodes. In some of the Dicodes threads on ECF there were a couple people that had a defect with their mod. In both cases Dicodes directly shipped them a new mod with a return label to send back the defective one. Who else does stuff like that?

Yeah, they have a great reputation. I like the fact that they offer upgrades to turn older versions in to the latest version as well.

I'm not saying it's not worth it, it's just a lot of money. Or well, for me anyways :(

Been through a few refills now with the Bachelor Nano, and I'm still really digging it. This thing may just be the best RTA at this price point that I have ever used.

The only thing I wish is that there was a SS tank option for it. Durability has become a more important feature to me lately with the way things have been going in the US. With the cost of the authentic tank being so reasonable though, I may just pick up a second one since I like it this much.

Yeah, it is really really nice. Good luck scoring another one though :p

Talking about SS tanks; the SXK Kayfun mini V5 clone (3ml) is about to be released & comes with a glass and a SS tank if you're interested.

FT sells a version without logo, 3fvape has the version with logo.

It IS a lot of money. The wife was pretty understanding because of what is happening in the states, but I still had to agree to sale the rest of my mods (VT133 / SX Mini ML ...which I still need to do), and pay off the CC bill in the next couple months. Let's just say it is a good thing that I am fully DIY now, otherwise I wouldn't be able to buy juice atm, much less a VT75 Nano or another RDA within the next few months. :(

That said, do I regret purchasing the Dicodes? Not even a little.

Authentic for $23 on ebay. Bought my first one from the same guy, and I did verify it as authentic.

That's not what I meant, lol

I didn't want to repeat myself, again, but I've been trying to score a second one too but only received faulty ones -all authentic- that leak no matter what I try. Just one good one on 4 purchases plus a warranty replacement so far.

But I'm probably just very unlucky. Still, I had to warn you..

Yeah, DYIing is great. I'm saving so much money since I started recently!

Hmmm, I guess all I have to do is sell them then once I've gathered enough mods, haha.

So do you greatly prefer the Dicodes chip over the DNA & YIHI, or is it more the complete package &/or form factor that makes you prefer the Dani over the other mods?

First, I don't really think you can go wrong with the chips from Evolv, YiHi, or Dicodes, and all can provide a superior vape experience. Anyways, here are my personal thoughts.

Dicodes:
+Build materials (aluminum and steel)
+Build quality and finish
+Ergonomics
+TC is very well done
+Small
+Heater Protection Mode (this is like ghetto temp control for Kanthal, but it actually works pretty good)
+Best warranty in the industry for a mod (2years)
-No user firmware upgrade
-No user profiles
+-Low powered compared to others (not an issue to me...)
+- Price is high, but it also doesn't seem unreasonable considering the build quality and materials.

YiHi (I can only speak for SX Mini ML)
+Build quality
+Ergonomics
+TC is very well done.
+Smallish
+Computer configuration is completely optional
-Warranty support seems hit or miss (expecially if you did not pay MSRP)
-Pulse Width Modulation for TC. It works just fine but I find the buzzing sound it makes a tad annoying
-Changing many settings requires more steps than I like
-Very tall mod

Evolv
+TC is very well done. I feel Dicodes "might" be a tad better out of the box, but you can tweak everything in these mods so I don't think its an issue
+Very tweak-able (profiles are really cool)
+Cool monitoring software
+Evlov's 1-year warranty for chip problems
+You can easily push your custom settings to a brand new mod
+You can buy a mod for way under $200
+Many people have them, so you can get alot of user support
-Build quality is all over the place. You have to spend more than a Dicodes to get a mod in the same ballpark when it comes to materials and finish.
-Big. That VT75 Nano may be the only smallish mod you will ever be able to get with one of the more recent DNA chips if the FDA rules go through
-Still requires a computer to configure, although this continues to get better
-I would like there be a dedicated menu system in the mod, rather than multiple combos of holding buttons down to change settings
-I feel that Evolv is doing their chip a disservice by not making a premium mod themselves, but that is just my opinion

This is such a subjective thing and some that I consider a "-" other could consider a "+". Anyways, I think you can get a great vape on a EHPro Bachelor RTA with any of the mods containing one of these chips! :p

Thank you. It's as I suspected, but not being in the market I'd guess the only pic I'd seen with the display lit up was late last year.
And now I know. :D

You should investigate the SMY 75 that Ecig is still letting go for $50.

The case fitment is flawless and it's the same size as a VTC.
Fractionally thinner actually.

Daniel (DJLsb) did the set up so it actually is usable out of the box.
I agree... that's a hit or miss area, though it seems to be getting better.

Oddly, you can use pre-heat & punch on Kanthal, though there's no top Temp Protection.
Handy for fat exotic builds... though you'd want more power than the 75W I'd expect.

Good find, I missed this one. I was mistakenly under the impression that all released DNA75 mods used a form factor to support the 26650 battery.

Dicode's "Heater Protection" mode is nothing fancy really. Although, they are the only ones that have a mode like this that I'm aware of. I only have a single tank with a kanthal build atm, but I was surprised that this simple mode did keep the coil from getting too hot. Clip from the manual below:

That is unique I think.
Seems apt to consider it a non-TC "dry hit prevention" though I wonder if setting it aggressively might produce something akin to TC's "rattlesnaking". Nice feature though.

Though no one has yet described what the Asolo is actually doing with its "Taste Control", I wonder if they've gone a similar route. First I've heard of Heat Control, so it's a new thought.

I haven't been able to produce any "rattlesnaking" with the Dicodes mods. Dicodes can regulate power and (and therefore temp) faster than DNA boards supposedly. They make power reg chips for the medical industry, and making mods seems to be a side hobby of the company. Anyways they do DC-AC at 200kHz so it could theoretically be 250x faster than a DNA mod doing DC-DC @ 800Hz (both are much faster at this than YiHi). I say supposedly because they do not publish documents anymore about their DC-AC chips. I should send an email to clarify if this info is still correct with their newest mods.

From personal experience, the Dicodes mods do produce a very smooth TC controlled vape.

Good general info there, thanks.
I've been curious about various mods' clock rates.
I read a throwaway comment just last week that the Dicodes incorporated AC, but no detail.

Interesting that the vape line is a side project... as it were.

Yeah, the company doesn't really talk about these details anymore, and the figures were pulled from older reviews for their mods back in 2014. I did just send Dicodes an email asking if they can provide any more info. Hopefully they will respond.
