If I understand the spreadsheet right, in order for me to make say 30ml of 36mg butterscotch from 40mg flavorless juice I would have to mix 27ml of nic juice with 3ml (10% flavor) of butterscotch. But if the flavor was not strong enough I am unable to increase flavor percentage without decreasing nic level. I would have to sacrifice nic level for flavoring or get a higher level of nic juice. Is this correct?

Thanks!!!!

Yes if once mixed you would sacrifice nic% with the more flavoring you add. I always start with small batched like 1ml to get the drops needed and get it the way I want then increase the quantity to 10ml and mix up a batch on those numbers. Make sure you use the same "Type" of dropper when making the small batches so there is consistancy. And use that dropper to measure out how many drops equals 1ml so you can plug that number into the calculator. This will provide a much more accurate product.
Hope this helped.

What if I have a base of 8 nic and I want to make it into 24 nic and I have unflavored 48 nic to add to it. How much 48 nic should I add? Would it be approximately 2:3? 2 parts 8 nic to 3 parts 48 nic? I'm not sure how to figure that out.

Debbie

Use section 4 of the calculator:
But it would be
10ml of 48mg
15ml of 8mg
Gives you 25ml of 24mg
1:1.5 ratio or yes 2:3 same thing but reverse it, 2 parts 48 to 3 parts 8.

OK I added a seperate field just for VG and deleted section 7 since you can now define how much VG you want to add to the mix. I have updated this to v9 so when you download it your v8 is safe and all the recipes you created wont get overwritten. As always the download link is in my sig!

Thanks much! I would have figured 3:2. I guess I'd have been cooking after vaping that, huh? :D

Where would I find section 4? I only see one page available on the calculator???

I'm on an Apple. Could that be why I seem to only have 1 section?

Section 4 is located in the circled red area....

Download v9 in my sig if it does not look like this.

Scubabatdan - I have downloaded the newest version (v9) and it doesn't save my recipes correctly anymore!

It looks like the cells are shifted or something. The first now comes up "New nicotine mg level and the others are strange as well. Did I corrupt it somehow?

Thanks!

:)

Corrected, download again.
Thanks, when I deleted section seven and reshifted everthing, I forgot to resequence the VBA code for the macro to copy the cells.
Fixed now... sorry about that!

to thin out vg with either vodka or distilled water, i was told to use about 10% of whatever amount of vg i am using...

-should i still thin it out with a 50/50 pg/vg mix?
-can i use just vodka without distilled water as the thinner, or will it add too much throat hit?

I usually run 20% PGA/Water to any amout of VG I add to the mix, I seem to have success with that. Use the mirror method to check viscosity levels. Place a mirror at 45 degrees and drop one drop of the ejuice you are making with a control sample you think is right and see how fast and far they run. Adjust by adding or PGA/Water to make it run faster. Start thick and work up as you can not remove PGA and water once added :)

Granted, VG is quite thick. Why though is this a negative atribute? Will the viscosity of nearly straight VG inhibit flow? To me, a really thick juice gives a comfortable weight to the vapor.

BTW: much of what's in this thread as well as several others should really be in a wiki. As new people come here they should have quick access to it. As things stand, much knowledge will be lost to time.

Merry Christmas and a hearty thank you too Scubabatdan.

Wish I had you expertise or the time to learn VBA.
But as long as you keep updating your calculator I guess I don't need to.
It has become my go-to for all my mixes. I don't even use my notebook anymore. Wish it could print out a 3x5 recipe to take into the kitchen. Hummm

Next time you are driving down to PCB let me know. I live on 231 just south of Cottondale, FL. We can do lunch and trade some home-brew.

Take care my good man,
Donley

Hey Dan
how do you figure out how to go up in nic levels.
for example
I have 60 mg of unflavored nic
i have liquid 12mg and want it to about 30 mg how much 60mg drops would i add.
also
I have liquid 24mg and want to make it about 30 mg how much 60 mg drops would i add?.

Is there a calculator for this how much to add going up nic levels.
Thanks and Happy New year

Cos
