I love the upgrades! Having a few issues with the 2007 Excel but I love it! Really like the recipe cards.

Thanks but I have having a bear with this VG and PG thing, I FINALLY got the correct formula for the PG side VG field : =IF(E10=0,0,IF(E11=0,0,E9*E11/100-E22))

IF you are using VG then you MUST add water, the water is based on the VG. If VG is omitted the water/vodka/PGA field in section 2 WILL remain 0. And like wise if the water/vodka/PGA field in section 1 is omitted then the VG field in section 2 WILL remain 0.

If you add VG you MUST enter something in the water field.

Here is the corrected copy of the corrected - corrected copy of v10. Please let me know if you run into ANY issues.
Download below or in my sig.

Also you may notice the drops by manufactures on the bottom. This is how many drops equals 1ml from the manufactures bottles or in Loranns case the glass eye droppers you can by from Lorann. This might help when making small batches. These are the averages I have found.

On the 2007 version it says that it can't run the PG macro?? Is that anything to worry about?
Dumb question...should all the recipes go to the recipe cards? I noticed double chocolate in the list but doesn'y show up in the cards.

In 2007, click on the windows circle in the upper left corner, select excel options, click trust center on the left, now click the trust center settings button on the right. Click macro settings, click enable macros. This will enable the macros for PG and VG.
Double chocolate is not on the recipe sheet, the recipe cards pulls the name from column A of the recipe sheet. Where are you seeing Double Chocolate?

In the latest version, using PG radio, I'm getting a smaller % of VG in Section 2 than I specify in Section 1. Example below.

Also, I'm using Excel 2000. It complains about a runtime error (object doesn't support this property or method) when I switch from VG to PG but appears to make the change.

Base PG Nic % 60 mg

Target PG Nic % 12 mg

Amount to be made for recipe 30 ml

Water/Vodka/PGA 5 %

VG 60 %

Flavor 15 %

PGA = Pure Grain Alcohol .
Recipe Calculator

Number of user drops 33 = 1ml
Ingredient ml drops* Percentage

PG with nicotine 6.00 198 20.0%

PG (no nicotine) 5.33 176 17.8%

Water/Vodka/PGA 0.68 22 2.3%

VG 13.50 446 45.0%

Flavoring(s) 4.50 149 15.0%

Still getting negatives values on VG and Water/PGA section. Well Im getting back to v9. :(

Ok the problem lies in subtracting out the flavoring when adding water to the VG. I have returned the formulas back to there original state. Be aware that you should not go over appox 20% of water + flavoring as it will make you ejuice thin.

All numbers report correctly now. The subtraction routine of the flavoring has been removed from both the PG and VG sides.

Please let me know if there are any more troubles.

I am making zero nic juice with VG only does the above quote mean that the juice should not go under 80% VG ie: 10% water + 10% flavor = 20% total or the vg will be to thin
or does it mean not to use more that 20% water + 20% flavor = 40% and vg = 60%?

I only ask as I've been reading these forums for a while and some of the stuff people say is starting to read like a stereo manual and I am still new to vaping and I want to keep my nic stuff for when I feel the need for nic and also have zero nic as a habitual all day vape.

That would be total for an 20/80 mix, of course some VG has less water content and are thicker so it could be 30/70 but the drip test for viscosity is the best way to test. I would check your VG with water and find the correct %, then the combination of water + flavoring total should be at that %
BTW somewhere around 1am I got tired of the nag screen and added a "don't show me again" option to the nag screen when PG is clicked.
Enjoy....

Dan, about that Double Chocolate, I couldn't wait to get home to copy and paste it for you but...it wasn't there. I swear it was on one of the versions I downloaded last night, oh well! Anyway, thanks for the tips for the macros, I just installed the 2007 and I'm not too familiar with it. Big differences in the versions. Thanks again.

I added my version of peanut butter cup in there, and it used 2 different chocolates from cappelas, one of them was double chocolate. Look for Peanut Butter Cup 2. That was it.

I have a very basic question here.
In PG mode, when I put a number in water/vodka/PGA % cell, there is no output in formula(section.2), it only works in VG mode.
Does this mean with PG you don't have to add water/vodka/PGA? or is PG itself so thin that you cann't use water/vodka/PGA since it can water down PG?

I was planning to add vodka to PG nicotine but I am wondering if I am on the right track.

Just a quick question. The calculator won't include the VG percentage (in a PG-based recipe) that I put in section 1 in the section 2 end-result calculations. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong....

Ok IF you use VG, then you MUST enter a % in the water/vodka/PGA field or it will remain 0.

IF you add a % in the water/vodka/PGA field then you MUST add VG.

The water/vodka/PGA % is only based off how much VG you add to a PG based mix. If you dont add VG then you do not need water, as PG is thin enough and even thinner when you add flavoring.

Both fields in sec 2 remain 0 uless you add a % in both the VG and water/vodka/PGA field.
I did put a nag screen in when you clicked the PG radio button :)

You can fool it, say you want 5% water or VG but not both. The add 4.5 for VG and .5 for water. Then total section 2's VG and water and put in which ever you want.

Does this help?

Seeing as I use 99% pure nicotine and dilute from there my number one fear has always been messing up a decimal place or hitting 5 instead of 2 or something along those lines. This calculator definitely takes alot of stress off my end since a miscalculation means more than just throwing out the batch. Great great product man. I honestly don't think I could say that enough in one post.

On a side note what are the advantages of VG compared to PG? I only ever mess with PG on account of the fact that I acquired it for free.

Well first thanks for the accolades :)
Second, while I DO NOT recommend the use of pure nic nor do I recommend anyone try what you are doing. I am glad it is helping you, please be careful, and I hope you are getting you nic from a certified source .990+ and not .980.
Third, VG gives much more vapor than PG does, the downside is that it mask the flavor so you have to use more. That is why I use a 20/80 mix of VG/PG. Helps the vapor with out diminishing the flavor.

Please do not post your methods here on using pure nic, all it takes is one novice to mishandle it and the FDA would have a field day. Practice safety in everything you do, and be responsible when posting such information. In the wrong hands it could prove deadly.
Thanks
Dan
