Hi, couple of questions.

I have 2 of the GS Air M units, good taste and no problem wicking 80VG/20PG on either one.

The biggest problem I have both is that on both the AFC rings are looser than an Ex-laxed goose, very, very damned loose. Any fix for it? It's damned near a deal breaker as far as getting any more of these which is a shame as otherwise they work great. Well maybe the gurgling after they sit for a while but I easily work around that. Oh, the coils are the 1.5 original type, I bought a gob of them when I originally bought the units.
You can wrap electrical tape around some pliers and gently squeeze down on the ring in order to
tighten up the AFC. The electrical tape (any tape for that matter) will keep the pliers from marring
the chrome. :thumb:

Yeah, tried it on both. Both these rings are really loose. Maybe I can get 'em in a position that's ok on air supply and silicone glue 'em in position and then wait for the silicone to cure a bit.

Thanks, tho.

Apply the pliers where the red outline is on the lower part of the opening it should work...

I have 2 of the GS M tanks...and love them both! One has a loosey goosey AFC like you describe and the other doesn't. I kind of like the loosey one in a way because it's easy to just flick to close it for a quick prime, and mostly it'll stay pretty close to where I put it as far as airflow. Just a personal thing with me, I guess. The other one that is tighter annoys me a little because I have to really try when I adjust the airflow.

IMO your fix is to switch to the original GS Airs. :D

Not my day...the previous 1.2 coil kept giving a burnt taste. Hopefully as a result of going up to 18 watts earlier, rather than not being able to keep up with my vaping.

Swapped it out for the 1.5 coil that came with the tank. Neither of my devices would read the coil

Put another 1.2 coil in and back to business.

Staying at 12 watts maximum for now. Very impressed by tank, coils fingers crossed a bit of bad luck....

Cotton tends to keep a burnt flavor once singed :( Rayon and silica will recover if not too bad.
the coils that came with the tank seemed to have a reputation for being funky and not working
right for some reason.

Try this

Never had a "protection" warning, but I use this airflow controller on my iStick 20 to protect the wonky threads and it works like a charm and doesn't add much height--and if there's a gap, it can be closed.

Good luck!

or this

Yup, I love those guys. However, I don't use them on all my mods because they still do add some bulk...

For connectivity issues I have my spacers--they are my connectivity lifesavers. Never failed me yet. :D

Tough to fill from a glass dropper, filled it with a blunt syringe in the end.

Hmm... I actually find glass droppers very handy. Glass droppers and thin-tipped juice bottles. Those old bottles with fat rounded tips are a no-go.

Practice a little with your dropper--just make sure you don't drip on that crossbar on top of the tank. I tilt the tank and let the eliquid flow down the tank wall--like pouring a glass of beer. :)

Good luck!

Aye thanks. On refilling I tried the glass dropper and it worked just fine, tiny built spilt which was easily mopped up. Re. The coil not being read it was just the one, think it's a dud coil, all others register just fine on my devices.

Vaping just perfect now...no gurgling or leaking yet from the non-burnt 1.2 coil.

Good to hear! It takes a bit of practice because that filling port is really not well designed, but then it becomes easy. The GS Tank has a larger opening, luckily.

Don't give up on that coil completely yet. Hang on to it, and if you do get one of those AFC rings that Katya mentioned, give it a try again. It might work fine. I am using one that did that to me right now. Didn't register ohms on any of my devices, but when I put the AFC controller on, it did! Weirdly enough...after a day or so I forgot about it's issues and put it on an MVP 20W that didn't have the AFC thing on it, and it worked anyway. Guess it "self corrected"? Go figure.

Right!

Sometimes the center pin is just a hair short and doesn't make proper electrical contact with the mod--doesn't mean that the coil is bad. I always try such coils on different devices or add a spacer or an adapter.

Thanks Katya and fourthrok. I'll give it a go with the 510 to ego adaptor and a beauty ring I have, as you suggest it may just be the bottom atty pin not connecting with the battery pin.

Out of interest what wattage do you folk all use the gs at? After scorching the cotton at 18 watts I amd being cautious, but maybe I didn't let the tank sit enought first, given they reckon up to 30 watts am thinking I could go higher surely....

I run my mods in voltage mode, usually, with dual coils, 4.2-4.4v or so.

But if you prefer the wattage mode, you should bear in mind that you're dealing with two 3Ω coils when you're using the 1.5Ω coils. I like 6-7 watts per coil, sometimes more, so start at 11-12 watts (or even less) and see how you like it. Dual coils produce more vapor so lower wattages are fine for me.

The 1.2Ω coils are single-coil atties, so calculate your wattage accordingly.

Definitely try that coil with other devices, Make sure it is screwed in nice and tight, as well as try looking at the display as you screw the tank on -- sometimes it will read just fine until that last turn (which may be too tight) and all you need to do is back off a little.
I rarely go over 10 watts, most of my preferred juices taste best right around there and no matter how much I absent-mindedly chain vape, I don't risk burning anything.
YMMV -- right, Cheech?
