Alas...alack. I apparently got a box of clones, or am having some seriously bad luck with my 1.5 GS air coils. I bought several boxes recently, trying to "stock up". I can't be sure which box came from where anymore, but I'm surely hitting on a bad run! For every "good" one I find these days, another 2 are not good at all...bad taste, even with careful and repeated priming. I don't know. But I sure am discouraged! I think I might have to learn to re-coil my own. I'm getting a far too big a stack of "bad" coils to send to anyone for re-coiling at this point! Can anyone please PM me a direct link to instructions on what exactly I need in the way of supplies, tools (kit is fine..just point me to the right one!) and some clear preferably written instructions (I don't do that well with videos...but they are okay as a supplement to the process. Unless someone is verbally explaining things they are doing carefully...that would be okay.) I am worried my eyes and hands aren't going to co-operate very well..but I HAVE to do something! I'm getting so frustrated and discouraged I could just cry!!! Oh...I do have an older model ohms checker. I imagine it'll be okay enough for now.
I sure wished that everyone here could sit down together and recoil, but that isn't the case. Try and watch and read everything you can here, so you can possibly recoil soon. The only thing that I'm lacking at the moment is a Lighted magnifier (in which I really don't need at the moment). That would help you tremendously in doing it from what you mentioned.

I not only got a bad batch of coils, but had a whole delightful summer of bad batches of coils. I had 2 that lasted about a month out of around 40. Most of the girls here have had very good luck with them, but I started veering more and more towards recoiling them. I'm glad I did because even the ones that were good didn't put a dent in the recoils! :)

In your nightmares
Just got an order from fastech and another from focalcig I will think twice about ordering from either company again. Fastech I ordered a 3 pc kuro coil winder set, who ever machined the 2.5 coiler must have been hungover. The 2.5 is the 1 I would use the most I ordered a kf v4 from focalcig and it is missing a part, the ring retainer for the coil base making it unusable.

I have a Tobeco clone and it's very good:

Open a support ticket. They should replace it or take it back and give you store credit.

Again, I have a KF4 Tobeco clone and it's very nice.

Good luck.

So sorry, fourthrok...

You really don't need much to start rebuilding. At the beginning, you'll only need a spool of kanthal A1 wire--I like 29g (you can get it online inexpensively, free shipping, from Temco, Lightning Vapes, on Amazon) and a few pads of organic cotton (get a small sample of Muji cotton from FT--free shipping), a 1.5-2mm diameter screwdriver or drill bit, and regular nail clipper. You can use the "skin" from the Muji cotton pad as a wrapper--works just fine. You can also use organic cotton balls and a strip a coffee filter in a pinch. :) You don't need an ohms reader--use your battery will check the resistance of your coils.

And a good magnifying glass. :D

If/when you succeed, you can start buying more sophisticated rebuilding equipment.

Good luck.

agree with Katya
I bought same 'coiler' (very cool)

I am very good at coil'in
but trying to make consistent coils
with the Titanium wire just wasn't happen'in...

enter the "Tobeco Kuro Coil Jig cw-30"
and I am back to making workable coils again...
(might get the cw-20, 25 also just cuz they are cool)

:)

Opened a support ticket with fastech, since it is the weekend here will be next week when they answer it. I have the tobeco kf4 also that i love and I want another kf4 so I ordered the tank from focalcig. Their support told me they will ship the part with my next order, like I am going to order from them again so I can get some other item that is bad lmao

hmmm. Okay..so the kathal A1 wire you can get on Amazon? And do you "have" to use pads of organic cotton? I mean...isn't there a less burnable option somewhere? I don't think I want to order from FT. Is there another option? What do you mean by "skin" from the Muji cotton as a wrapper? I see organic cotton balls are an option now...okay. Where can you get those? Would Amazon have them? I guess I could try ordering a 1.5 to 2 mm dia. screwdriver from them too. Sheesh. And a magnifying glass on a stand. Sigh. But thanks! Really! MOST helpful! You are almost speaking in a language I understand! lol!

I like Temco brand. Grab a 50 ft spool and free shipping.

And do you "have" to use pads of organic cotton? I mean...isn't there a less burnable option somewhere?

You don't have to, but they are very easy to use. And those pads have a "skin" on them you can peel off to use as a wrapper--see videos. You can use silica wicks also, cellucotton (rayon, Graham brand), cotton balls (organic--you don't want cotton that has been bleached with chlorine; every drugstore carries them, CVS, Walgreens).

I don't think I want to order from FT. Is there another option?

You can find Japanese organic cotton everywhere, on Amazon also, Koh Gen Doh, Labo, Shiseido are all good. I suggested FT because they sell small packages of Muji if you want to try them

I guess I could try ordering a 1.5 to 2 mm dia. screwdriver from them too.

You could. But I thought you might have something like that in your house already, like a toothpick? A 1/16" drill bit? If you want to buy something, I recommend you buy a 2mm kuro coiler from Desert Vapes--much easier to use--linked above.

And a magnifying glass on a stand.

Cannot argue with any of the above brilliant advice!

Temco is the best!

The cheapest wrap for the liner is the dollar store gauze pads! One box will last for a very long time! (pictured in my blog)
If you have trouble locating the liner material, PM me and I'll send some to you. Several folks here have gotten their liner
material to start that way.

Start with my blog...it will get you going!
