Thanks, Douggro. I figured it out after a bit more research. eleaf defaults to the 60w max when in TC mode. I turned it down to 35w and the same temp and works great and still get the same vape, just takes a second to get to temp. And seem to solve the strange pulsing issue when I take a longer draw. So far I can already see a huge difference. Thanks for the reply.
And thanks for you report of the behavior at 60w. This is what I experienced as well, so it's good to know it's not just me doing something wrong with the unit that has that happen. I'm running mine at 45-50w now; I'm somewhat impatient waiting for the temp to come up. ;)

I am thinking of getting this mod so I can use replaceable batteries in case my wee egos,Huge egos,11W MVP,20W MVP,and 40W CF IVs get banned. I will be using only the VW and not the TC as I like 1.8-2.5ohm single bottom replaceable coils. Does anyone think this device would work for my style of vaping. I am a mouth to lung sometimes vaper. I mostly use 2000-2600mah devices now. I plan on using Samsung 25R 2500mah batteries, the green covered ones. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. P.S. I usually use 8W or less. I forgot to say I have bad RA and my hands can not handle a lot of weight. ;)

The unit with a battery weighs in at 5 ounces. The rounded contour of it does make it fit smoothly into my hand, and I have some big, long mitts. Not sure how that will work with your RA..

I drop my ET-S clearos with 1.6 coils running ~8-9w on it for tootling and it's a solid performer for that, easy to stretch two or three days on it when using my other devices.

I have one of the TC 60w kits. I use it with the melo2 head that came on it. The TC mode drained the batteries to fast in my opinion. The only coil they sell for the melo2 is sub ohm .3 & .5 ec heads from eleaf. The .3 run at 30 to 40 watts and the .5 run at 15 to 30 watts. In VW/VV mode. They say to use a Sony 18650 3.7v 30a battery. Mine is a XMJO 18650 3.7v 35a. Have been told is a good one. I do know you don't want to run your unit under 2.5 volts with these batteries, it will reduce the life and I believe have a cut off and will not fire below that. Currently I have the .3 ohm head in at 34w and the colts fire at 3.02v. Not sure if this helps. It will go from 1-60 watts. If you go from ohm vaping to sub-ohm vaping you will want to cut the nicotine in half. It does have great Flavor and produces big clouds. Good Reviews on utube on them.

Thank You for your quick responses yes I also have big hands and like the look of the contours of this mod as it is close to round instead of squared - which works best for me I also can get silicone covers which make it easier to hold onto. I like colors a lot. :D The way I vape @ 3ml a day the battery should last me a week.
Yeah I do not want to subohm so I use Kangertech Protank 2s. I have quite a few toppers that I can use the PT coils in and that works for me. :) Nice to hear that this mod will do ok for me - again Thank You for your time. ;)

I got my TC60W for one of the very reasons you're looking at it: replaceable batteries. It's a decent TC mod, works well in VW mode. The Protanks you have should be fine with it.

Hello everyone. I recently received my TC 60W and in general I love it, but I've noticed something that gives me a little concern and I'd be thankful for any opinions or whether others can confirm what I'm noticing. It seems to vape well for me, but I notice two things which I'm not sure about if they're normal.

1) I also have a TC 40W which seems to read the nominal resistance of coils pretty accurately. I mainly use kanthal with 1.8 Ohms and 1.5 Ohms. My TC 60W always seems to read slightly higher resistance than my 40W, usually between 0.08 and 0.1 Ohms higher. So, for example it reads 1.92 Ohms where my 40W reads 1.83 Ohms on a 1.8 Ohm coil. It's consistently higher on ET-S, Nautilus and Eleaf coils, never lower. Is that normal?

2) I got two brand new batteries with the 60W, one Samsung 18650-25R and one LG 18650-HG2. I usually take the battery out at "almost empty", when the 60W shows one little bar just before showing the empty symbol. But when I put the battery into my Nitecore charger, it usually shows around 60%. So I tried to use the battery longer. Right now the battery icon on the 60W is blinking ("empty"), but the Nitecore charger still shows 51%. This happens with both batteries. Since this is my first mod with changeable batteries I don't know whether this is normal or not. I'm not really comfortable with using the battery when the mod is blinking because I don't want to ruin the battery. But the charger showing above 50% ..?

Considering these two things, would you think that's normal or could my unit be defective?

I have a TC 60w also for a week now. I did notice that with a 0.30 ohm coil in it(aspire) with VW set to 33.5 that sets it to 2.95v the ohms actuall read 0.26 on this coil. On some others a 0.50 coil I tried it read .51. Seems to move a tiny bit with battery life. I am controlling mine with watts and not using the temp control feature. I pretty sure the chip controls both the ohm and the volts in this model, so I don't see it as a problem. Just make sure you don't Vape if the colts drop below 2.5v with these type batteries. I have read that will hurt battery life and is not good. Even with a almost dead battery the 0.26 is my lowest ohm reading and full charge it show 0.28.

My nitecore charger will be here this week, so can't comment on that till then. Hope this helps.

FYI if you use it in TC mode you have to lock the ohms in. It tells you how to do that in the tiny manual.

Today I topped mine with a Nautilis Mini at 1.6-1.8 and it's nice.

I checked the resistance of my Kanthal single coil I have installed in my Lemo 2 atty. with a very accurate Fluke multi-meter. It shows it at 1.3 ohms.

My iStick TC60W also shows the resistance to be 1.3 ohms, so it is right on the money.

I don't know how accurate the TC60W ohms reading would be if I was using a very low ohm Ni200 or a Ti coil, but it's really accurate when using regular Kanthal coils in a range above 1.0 ohms.

I wouldn't bank on the readings being hyper-accurate below 1ohm either. Probably as accurate as you'd get from a digital multi-meter bought at Harbor Freight. Close enough for what's needed but could be better. Main thing is it works and seems fairly consistent.

Everything I have put on the iSticks has been very close to what is predicted by SE, within 0.01-0.03 ohms with builds that are very much below 1ohm! These things are pretty accurate - certainly far better than any ohmeter I have ever used. The temp control mods have to be reasonably accurate or else the whole thing wont work as they are comparing absolute values of resistance with a lookup table of values according to the TCR of the wire in use. If they were 0.1 ohm out, you would either get no vapour, or a lung-full of burnt juice and cotton...

...... But I went back to the 1.8ohm coil in my Triton for better MTL experience that my wife likes.

Your a lot like me ... I am a mouth to lung vaper (because that's how I used to smoke cigarettes 2 years ago).

I make a Kanthal 27 gauge single coil at 1.3 ohms. I feed this coil 13 watts

Burn homemade juice that's 40% PG / 60% VG and 15mg Nic

Am now using an Eleaf Lemo 2 for the atomizer

Mine works really well. $50 for a tank and a mod that is stealthy and works and I can customize with different skins and doors is a plus. I was so happy with my 60 watt I bought the standard 100 watt for $30 to go with it so I have some cheap power. The build quality is nice on both devices so $80 for 2 devices is not a bad deal. I know Eleaf has had some complaints but all of my Eleafs have always worked flawlessly. I think for somebody on a budget the Eleaf line is hard to beat. They make some good tanks, kits and the mods are of pretty good quality.
