I posted this in a different thread. Just in case anyone who is following this thread is looking for a good price on an istick 30w.
I was just browsing VapeNW. They have iStick 30w for $20 in blue and pink, $25 for black and silver. $5 shipping or free shipping with juice purchase.

This is good to know. I wonder if that's a special sale price or everyday until they sell out their stock. I wouldn't mind a back up for my purse istick.

Edit: Cool, I ordered a blue istick and a small bottle of juice! The juice only went up to 12 mg nic. I hope I'll get my order OK. Hope it's in a small package. :)

Just finished checking out a couple YouTubes on the TC40W iStick. Two questions:

1. No matter what Wattage they'd have the TC40W set to...when they'd switch over to the "TC mode" it automatically bumped the Wattage up to 40W (as shown on the left of the display). I usually vape at 8W-12W so 40W seems awfully high to me. Does the fact that you're now adjusting the temperature compensate for the 40W?

2. After the nickle coils adjusted to "room temperature" they said one should LOCK the Ω's (press 2 buttons) before firing in TC mode. Since it's an extra step (and since I'm so unbelievably lazy)...what could happen if I just fired it in TC mode without locking the Ω's?

1. tc will try and get to your requested temperature as fast as possible. once the temp has been reached it will drop to the watts needed to maintain which might very well be in your usual range

2. not sure why they are recommending to lock the istick but one tc mod has been known to jump out of tc unless locked

Unfortunately I bought it without checking any vids and Im dissapointed because I can't use my K4 on its TC... I usually vape my K4 around 12 watts and the isticks TC gives me around 29 W everytime it fires. I hope I am doing something horribly wrong but i doubt it.

atm forget about watts - find the temp where your juice shines and the vape is to your liking ;)

I'm pretty sure you lock the Ωs so the mod knows what the Ωs is at room temperature.

The mod knows what the temperature of the coil is based on the change in Ωs.

The resistance of Kanthal A1 remains constant as it's temperature changes. The resistance of Ni changes as it's temperature changes.

Rocketman and skyboxer are correct but more folks are about to make TC way more complicated than it is. Already happening with the SX Mini, DNA40, Evic, and now the istick. and any other TC mod coming out. But once they get the idea they will see how simple it is and all will be well again. You can use virtually any tank or RDA with it. Some will work better than others. I've done TC with the SX Mini and VaporShark DNA40. I've used TC with a Lemo 2, Delta II, ST Mini and GS Air M. Every coil I've built has worked great including the first one. It ain't brain science or rocket surgery but it is causing a lot of debatable discussion that's very entertaining. You will just have to learn a few new things. :)

Picked up a iStick TC40W today... got tired of waiting for the pre-order to ship...
Mine is on the slow boat from China. I've really had to sit on my hands to keep from ordering one from the U.S. That would be here in 3 days. I must be patient.

My B&M got some on the 10th. Only a few, so I survived by telling myself they were probably gone already.

It will be years before my b&m carries these. They cater more to the Sigelei, RDA, max VG crowd. :(

Mine was shipped on the 12th so it won't be much longer before it gets here and I don't need 3 of them since I already have an eVic-VT.

But how? I made my coil, came around 0,16 ohms, locked in room temperature as the manual says and started from the lowest Celsius setting (no familiar with Fahrenheit) up to the heighest. It only changes how long it takes for it to reach that temperature, it doesn't change the Watt production... It gives me around 29wats everytime and all I get is a hot, disgusting vape.

If anyone can tell me how to work the 40tc with a kayfun 4 in temp mode please, I am all ears :D

Sorry for any grammar mistakes.

A friend of mine who has a gdna told me with the eVic to set my watts at 30 and to adjust the temp. until the temp of the vape is as warm as I liked or the taste was what I wanted then leave it there. I've found that air flow plays a lot in that determination too. This is my first TC experience so I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination. So far, 30W and 460 F is my ideal. My coil is .12 ohms.

My China Evic is out for delivery after 2 or 3 weeks. I'm lookin forward to see how it compares to the other TC mods I have. It got here way quicker than I thought. I gotta learn to build a high ohm nickel coil (.12 or over). I'm used to building .06 to .09 :)
ETA: I looked back and found I ordered the Evic kit on June 22cd so that makes it 25 days total from order to delivery.

Anybody interested in isticks make sure you get a full 90 day manufacturers warranty like you do at evape.us. It's not posted clearly on their site but they are changing that

Hi Bikenstein,
I will work to add better text about the warranty but it may take a few days. I need to spell out what is covered and what is not covered. I can only provide warranty for issues the manufacturer will cover under warranty.
thanks,
Dave

Other companies such as SweetVapes only offer 30 days.

I just saw this posted on slickdeals...the non vapor forum that I also spend too much time on:

Eleaf iStick 100W Box Mod VW Battery - Cvapor.com

Looks like they are in China, so who knows what that date means for the states, but it's coming...
