Speaking of skydiving, for those of you who purchased my book Learning to Skydive in One Fell Swoop, please make the following correction:

Change step 47 from "state zip code" to "pull rip cord".

Sorry for any inconvenience.

DRAT!!!!!!!!!! So THAT'S what I did wrong!!!!!!!

Ok ok ok ok ok ok! I had NO klue of what you spoke, but I LOVED that last pic!

Skydiving to me is when they (politely) ask you to step off the table.......

and dance on the floor.

Thanks for the peak into you world, the skydiving is absolutely fascinating but not for me. Heights and I don't get along and jumping out of a perfectly good working airplane is sheer madness...

But, I am amazed that these jumpers can hit a 3cm disk with the heel of their boot.

That's the world my former manager and sales manager lived in. Style and Accuracy. Both of them could hit a postage stamp with their eyes closed!!
Have you jumped or worked with any HALO gear? I have always been fascinated by someone who jumps out of a plane at 30K feet in the pitch black or night and opens his chute a few thousand feet off the ground.
I've worked with HALO gear but 18k is as high as I've ever been. And I've done night jumps using glow sticks which the military don't use. For obvious reasons.
To bring it back on topic, I guess next time I go, I need to try vaping in freefall! Lol

MY HALO experience is limited. Six jumps in the Rockies. The DZ was at 10K and we jumped from 24K (14K effective), opening around 1500'. An oxygen mask (and tank) is required as it gets a bit thin above 20K. Most sport skydivers avoid this as it adds a great deal of complexity and cost to the jump. It is generally left to the military, who need the stealth of HALO.
