Bye, peapad!
Like my dearest friend Tibs, I'm not jumping on any more bandwagons. There's so much hype in our vaping world. Every month or so somebody proclaims something to be a game changer (or a Kayfun killer)... As far as I'm concerned, there have been only two true game changers in vaping: 1) fillerless toppers (clearomizers, RTAs, etc.) and 2) variable voltage (wattage) regulated mods. Temperature limiting technology (Evolv's DNA40) may also be one of them when it's perfected/simplified.
But ceramic? I don't think so. First, ceramic wicks have been used in vaping forever--from the ill-fated vaping donuts to tried and true Nextel Ready Wicks.
Pure Magic... no foolin'
Now China has discovered ceramics and, again, seems like every coil manufacturer is coming out with their own version. I tried
Vaporesso (I won the tank) and it just didn't wow me at all. I'm now using the tank with Melo 2 rebuildable coils and it's quite nice, but not my favorite setup. I have my doubts about the materials used in Chinese ceramic coils and their sintering process, but since I can't prove anything, I'll just keep those doubts to myself. That said, if I felt that ceramic wicks delivered superior flavor and performance, I'd use Nextel wicks (and non-sintered Kanthal coils).![]()
But that's just me.![]()
Eight volts is a bit much for a cartomizer...
I have tested them. No game changer for me.
But other people love them.

I can't stand the Eleaf iStick series. I had the 20W, 30W, 50W and TC40W all in one purchase... The best one was the TC-40W by far.
Moved to KangerTech... Bye Eleafers!
Brava! Well stated, Miss Katya...
It feels good when My thinking is in line with Katya's clarity and honesty.![]()
Katyaya, thank you for the in depth report on these. I had a vague (really vague) interest in them, but I do believe that you are the Ceramic Cween, so I bow and defer to you, my dahling.
Just looked at peapad's profile. Joined Aug 2014, 1st and only post is a negative review of all Eleaf mods. Opinions are welcome, but it seems a bit strange to me.

Howdy Katya!!!
Have you tested them using TC control?
I am surprised people who have this capability don't use it! It works really well and you don't have to worry anymore!, about running out of juice and frying your coil
I found the Vaporesso TC coil wanting. I liked the Kanthal coil better, but still not quite my cup of tea. I don't like the lag and even at .9Ω it's too aggressive a vape for my needs. I'm a very tame vaper--I love my Kayfun 4 at 9-12 watts for flavor, vapor output and quality and airflow. That's my gold standard.![]()
I've had my iStick 20s (don't use very often due to firing so hot) 2 iStick30s and 2 iStick40s for going on 8 months now...and they all work fine! I am a very heavy vaper...but I do rotate my devices (which includes some Innokins) so it ends up each one gets used maybe twice a week (or only once a week, sometimes). That would be for all day & into the night, and running around 10 to 15 mls, 2.25 mg. nic, during that time at 6.5 to 7 watts. I know that some people have had trouble...but so far I've done okay. Only one of my iSticks semi-died when I dropped it on the hardwood floor and it stopped reading the ohms. I didn't count that one in the ones I have now. Maybe vaping at a higher wattage makes the difference in lifespan? I don't know.i blew through 2 30w after 4-6 months of use, vaping at about 15mls on each at full power.
so at full tilt chain vaping will kill the battery(protection error), if i lower the power they will fire, gave them to a friend who vapes 3 mls/day @10w and shes happy
EXACTLY! I've never use the TC feature on my iStick40. Don't plan to, either.Hey r77...I recently decided to purchase another 30W.
I'm a confirmed MTL/Tootle Puffer...have never been over 10Watts...and have concerns about the health aspects of silver/titanium.
But...I ended up scoring a TC40W for $10 less than I could find a 30W.
(I figured just because a Mod has 40W and TC...doesn't mean I have to use 40W and TC...)

Katya...I asked about the cCell "lag" in the "Vaporesso TARGET" thread.
Will see what they say/suggest...
75W Vaporesso TARGET 2 VTC Kit with Ceramic cCELL Coil
..
I'm right there with you, K-ya. I have a couple of devices with TC (which should prolly be called TG -- temperature guessing), and the first thing I did was to set that function to OFF.
I've also not had a dry hit in yeeeeears. And your advice echoes my own for tanks. Get them refilled at about 1/4 full and before the vacuum starts doing funny things.
used both my 30w 24/7 at full power 20-30mls/day.I've had my iStick 20s (don't use very often due to firing so hot) 2 iStick30s and 2 iStick40s for going on 8 months now...and they all work fine! I gotta say that I get better flavor from the cCell kanthal coil than I've even been able to get out of my RDAs
The ceramic is "sintered" around the wire. You can see part of the wire when you look down the middle of the coil but the juice comes through the ceramic to be heated, not through a cotton wick. It works incredibly well. Best flavor I have ever had from any coil, hands down.
