I'm what is that called a "tootle puffer" lol So I'm usally ohm'ing at 1.5-1.8 and don't normally go any higher than 15w's
Thanks for the reply, I think I'm going to go ahead and order the pico. And eventually get more batteries. It's time to get a few upgraded mods. :)
Sue, I vape just like you do, and I absolutely love the Pico. I set it at 14 or 15 watts, and never change anything. I plan to get a couple more.

I really like it but I only have it in 28g at the moment. The SS430 has almost twice the TCR of 316L and performs much better with TC.

Using TC with SS316L is more like Temperature Limiting than Temperature Control. In EScribe you can see the difference between the two wires, SS316L has a very jagged sawtooth pattern where the SS430 has a smooth, almost flat curve.
I have the 28 gauge as well.....works really well in twisted builds ;)

Funny that where I am they only have 430 in 25awg or 27awg lol. I usually run my 316L in 26 so it's a bit of a pickle lol.

Is 25awg gonna be okay for the normal, no frills 3.0 contact coils I usually run? Was afraid that it might be too thick lol.

25 gauge will work fine for that...you may need one extra wrap

Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping ;)

Melo 3 tank (both 2ML & 4ML)...A friend of mine bought both of these tanks the other day (mini came with the kit) and she has major leaking from both tanks from the bottom of the tank. If you look at the bottom of the tank (the 510 area) you see that it's not one solid piece of metal, the metal plate that surrounds the 510 pin is not solid to the outside outer piece of the bottom of the 510 and juice leaks through that tiny spacing when she uses either tank and gets all over her mods. I went over to check out what she was talking about and was pretty amazed that this bottom part of the tank is not sealed or all one piece of solid metal. Anyone else have this issue? For me I think it's a deal breaker...I was going to pick up the Pico kit but now I'm having second thoughts.

Here is a follow up from fasttech on my issue regarding the broken USB port on a pico.

"In this case, would you mind shipping it back to replace a new one? If you agree, we will send you a RMA and a Miami address for you to return it. Please confirm so that we could process accordingly."

I agreed. I'm still going to own more picos for the stockpile and I'll get them from FT.

Just to let you know--I use button top batteries in my PICO and they work just fine. The battery cap doesn't quite sit fully flush, but that hasn't caused any issues.

I don't use the melo that came with my kit too much, the flavor is lacking imo. Though I did use it the first week or two I had it and a few times with the ecr head to see if I could "fix" the flavor. The times I did use it I only had it leak on me once. That was shortly after filling so it may have been operator error, but half of my tank ended up all over my mod and table.

My first instinct was to get just the mod, but the it's only ten bucks won when I was ordering. I have a second pico on the way where I'm only getting the mod. YMMV.

so MY take on it might be this...
there is a problem with the coil

due to the design of the Melo III air flow control (afc)
it is "hidden" , unlike the open slots we typically see

the air cavity fills with juice and only place to go is out the bottom
which normally we'd see seep out the slots

with the COIL~be sure wick material is sufficient AND all o-rings are in place ! :D

looks good !
do you have another PICO to compare body material
are they the same or is it ** stainless steel **

curious

I can't really tell what the metal is, but before I opened mine, I noticed the add on box sticker say "BRUSHED SILVER". I thought they sent the wrong one. But looking at the Eleaf site, that's exactly what they call it. So I assume sellers are the ones that started using the words "stainless steel", and it has that "look", though I doubt it is SS, or Eleaf would advertise it that way. And if SS is more expensive, then it's definitely not. For whatever reason, both this and the FULL BLACK, came as the complete kit with tank for $28. I didn't want anymore Melo tanks, but now have two more, didn't cost me though.

Reason I bought the new SILVER one was simply to have a scratch resistant finish for my "Coffee Bum" holster, as you slide the mod in and out all day. Since it appears there is no paint, it should work for my intended needs.

For the Chinese manufacturers, stainless steel is not just a material it is also a color. Most of the silver mods are referred to as stainless steel even when the material is not SS.

Interesting, at least Eleaf did not use the words "stainless steel", so folks can't fault them. Who ever started to, it was then copy/pasted on the web, causing the confusion. In the end I could really care less, as I deem all these inexpensive mods as somewhat disposable, none of them are going to last forever, including my $200 VS DNA200. I'm only being forced to stock up because of the money grabbing FDA!
