Stainless steel is resistant to tarnish and stains, but not impervious. Brushed stainless with a chemical assault (eliquid in this case) can cause stainless to tarnish quite easily. But whether it truly is stainless is whole nother matter haha

I almost hope it's not truly stainless. I'd love to get a natural patina goin on mine.

You're the one who said it was brushed stainless.

When I get it apart I'll grind off the surface on the underside and see what I can see. If it's nickel plated it won't be as durable as chrome, that's for sure.

I loaded up the Pico+Mellow3-Mini with a Ni-CCell. It worked fairly well however after leaving it on my desk while I was at work I came home to find the coil was flooded and refilling the tank resulted in floods out the air holes in the bottom.

Needless to say I was not at all pleased. Maybe not a fault with the Mellow3 but with the 3rd party "CCell" but I then started looking for other tanks to match the Pico with. Shown are three different builds on STM's that functioned well, however the STM seemed to tall for the Pico.

Onto plan "C", I had purchased a Triton2-Mini at the same time as the Pico+Mello3 kit and while unpacking realized that the stock Triton kit likely did not include TC coils. Ahhh... I found a stash of VaporShark Nautlius Ni coils and primed one up and installed on the Pico. This seems to be a good match other than the reduced output of the Trition2-Mini (it does use Nautilus coils after all!) and the reduced tank capacity. The size/weight seems to work.

Pictured below is my current favorite setup on the left (Boxer22650+OBS Crius) the Pico+Trition2-mini in the center and my old (mostly defunct) TC40 with a Aspire Maxi mounted on the right.

I've used/tried: Ti, Ni, SS430, NiFe48 and NiFe30 on the Pico with decent results. The menu system takes a little getting used to coming from Joytech products and the silly new/old coil issues many of these mods have may be carried over to the Pico. Luckly I tend to "pair" a tank with a Mod and with top fill there is no reason to dismount the tank until the atomizer needs rework.

What a fun little mod! It may gain a place in my coat pocket as my backup mod.

I've been using a 0.9 ohm ccell in the M3M, (Melo 3 Mini) since last Saturday, with zero leaking, or any other problems. Flavor and vapor production is realllly good, and I can run it at only ~28-32W to get that. Why would you use the nickel?

Anyway, defective coil, (missing o-ring maybe?), defective M3M, or user error is to blame for the leakage. It's not the norm with ccells in this tank.

Looks like you found a very good set-up, though. Thanks for the detailed post and pics! :thumb:

Cool! I'll be very interested to see the results. :)

I bought a bunch of stuff as I had a refund coupon. Since I only vape in TC mode the Ni CCells seemed a good fit for my vaping. (they did not have any TI or other TC type CCells listed)

Very likely an install/coil/tank something or other. I may try outifitting the Mellow3 with an Anyvape RBA but since it is lacking juice control the flooding/leaking is almost bound to happen.

The Mellow3-Mini does look cute on the Pico. It may get another chance or two, the setup is bound to be pocketed so any chances of leaking are a show stopper for me. I have plenty of other tanks which don't leak to use. (I have a Nautilus Mini in need of a mod to sit on...)

Ah, thanks for the explanation. I like TC fine, but it doesn't suit most of the stuff I have to use right now. Also, I wasn't particularly impressed with the nickel coils I've tried from a couple diff companies. Afaik, Vaporesso only makes 0.9 ohm kanthal and 0.2 ohm Ni200 ccells at this point, but if they release some SS ccells in the future, I'll definitely want to try those.

Don't give up on the M3M. I've been carrying mine in my pockets and absentmindedly leaving it on its side on various pieces of furniture all week. No leaks yet!

The Vaporesso SS coils are FINALLY on the market! I should have mine in a few days. :) I am really hoping they are as great as the kanthal ones. I liked the nickel ones okay, but not enough to keep them in rotation. I have a SS ceramic coil in my Simba tank and I LOVE it. I hope the cCell gives me the same experience. I have a lot of tanks that run cCells! :)

Excellent! Who's selling the SS ccells? I'm not easily finding them.

ETA: I found them on vanguardsmokes. Any other current online source/s that you're aware of? TIA.

Holy cannoli! The list just keeps growing! :) 3Fvapes and Heaven Gifts have the SS coils in stock. Heaven Gifts has the .5 ohm ones but the .8 are out of stock at the moment. I was going to mention Vanguardsmokes because someone on another thread said they ordered theirs from them but you already know that, lol!

Thanks! I might just wait until the US based sites I prefer get em in stock. I've got a few 0.9 kanthals left, and they last a little while.

And yeah, I knew they were at Vanguard cause I read the other thread. ;) Now it looks like I need another tank or 3, cause the new stuff Vaporesso is coming out with looks pretty damn good.

    Hi all!

Probably a dumb question but the Kanger Subtank Mini will fit this?

I'm guessing the Subtank Plus is too big?

And is the gray ... gray? It looks kinda green in some pics I've seen.

I'm thinking about one of these because even though I love my iPV4s, I'm getting tired of the weight all day.

All 22mm toppers will fit nicely on the Pico. Any larger than that, and the battery cap will interfere. The gray is a dark gray in good lighting.

With all the cCell talk, I have to ask.... is there a trick that you guys are using for priming? The TC was a complete bust for me in the Melo II so I got some .9s and tried one the other day. I dripped into it, I let it soak in the tank for 45 minutes, I dry hit it - and still got a burnt hit when I tried it. I kept at it and it just never tasted right. Changed it out that night. Should I try again?

Oh and in over two weeks, I've never had a leak. I've had 3 different kinds of coils in it and today I'll be testing out a fourth - a 1.8 ohm Triton for MTL.

I just ordered two more KFL+V2's from a person on ebay. Since they're discontinued, these things are pretty scarce to find. It's insurance against a vapepocalypse.

I see all these new tanks, but they're all sub-ohm, big cloud tanks that eat juice at the sacrifice of flavor.

If I don't use them, I bet I can sell them for a profit later on. FYI: if you have a Nintendo 64, game cube, or other vintage games they're selling for a lot on ebay. Super Smash Bros 64 sells for $40 alone I think, but I would never sell mine :smokie:.

I left a comment on pbusardo's last video about a Pico review. He replied and said he just got one, and it's in the line for review. He gets sent so much stuff though, could be a month or two before he gets to it.

He also said he's starting his own juice line soon, which I hadn't known about since I only watch his istick videos and a handful of tank videos.
