how's the TC performance compared to SX Mini? thanks!

Assuming your comparing the SXminiM or SXminiML to the eleaf/Joytech chip in the Pico (I own 2 different SX350V1 devices, 1 SX350V2 and 1 Pico):

    • The Yihi and Pico can be charged by USB.
    • Both are software upgradeable.
    • The Yihi has set&forget two button resistance setting, the Pico has the sometimes fiddly new/old coil detection system (which sometimes is frustrating).
    • Pico has top accessable easily screw off battery cap (which may or not be easy with tank mounted), YiHi has a fiddly coin operated battery cap on the bottom.
    • The Pico has the temperature setting on +/- keys, the Yihi has it in a sub menu.
    • The Pico is limited to 22mm and smaller diameter tanks, the Yihi does not have this limitation.
    • The Yihi has user selectable 'preheat', the Pico does not have this feature.
    • The Yihi offeres 2 set wire types and 1 user programable TCR setting, the Pico offers 3 set wire types plus 3 user programable TCR settings.
    • The Pico is smaller and much lighter than the SXminiM.
I've tried 4 different TC wire types in the Pico and they all functioned well for me. I do however use fairly low to very low power builds in TC and rarely venture over 30W of heating power.

With the above said, the Pico can be setup to provide a similar if not (in some ways) better user experience than the SXmini.

However (there's always one of these right?) Given the size of the Pico it naturally has better "balance" with smaller (less capacity) tanks while the sheer weight of the SXmini allows for much larger and heavier tanks mounted.

    YMMV.

I'll show you guys why I chose the silver Pico over the colors.. The blue TC 40W is a daily carrier for me, the pink one used to be until I saw what being in my pocket was doing to the finish.

Agreed, Lynn. All my initial purchases were silver - and you can barely detect any scratches on them - they look almost new. Eleaf's silver is very nice - in the sun it almost sparkles.
I've just been getting pink (or purple) lately for variety. Since I tend not to use my pocket as much as my ...um...cleavage .... for holding, I'm hoping there won't be too many scratches!:lol::lol:

Nah..you'll be good then! Mine, especially the blue one as you can see, are in my pocket with my Pico or whatever other mod I have for that day. :)

I bought my Pico as a out and about substitute for a VT200.
I haven't gone near the VT since I acquired the Pico just over a week ago.

It performs exceptionally well with TC and is very pocketable - just wish they'd used nicer materials for the steel effect parts, it's stating to tarnish and I'm not into that particular look.

YIKES -- do you mean the battery cap on top?

haven't really played with it, but you CAN lock the resistance on the pico, which should disable the "new coil/old coil" thing, untill unlocked.

I got an e-mail from Kanvape a few days ago. They said they are doing away with coupon codes for good, so the usual 22% off or so should be built into their regular prices now. The Full kit with the tank is $40. They have pink in stock, but their inventory only says 10 left.

Arrrgh, just checked to see if they still had free shipping, and unfortunately they don't.

I noticed this with most companies these days. MBV used to have free shipping over $15, now it's $50. ITC used to have free shipping over $50, now shipping is $5 flat rate.

I understand though. I just noticed that USPS raised the price to mail a flat rate package about $1 recently. From my experience, most vendors usually use the flat rate envelope due to the weight of the liquids I order.

Indeed, however having the mod ask the "yes/no" question is not at issue but when/if it should ask the question and does not is where these new tank detection systems usually fail.

Granted I've yet to encounter the issue on the Pico but have on the Cubis and VTC mini. Those folks who don't use TC or switch tanks with the same wire types and similar resistances don't have issues with the "detection system".

Personally I prefer the YiHi method where the user (via two button press) tells the mod to recalibrate the base resistance or the Apollo Reliant which asks "yes/no" each and every time (without fail) a tank is removed and installed.

With top fill I tend to leave a tank mounted for days/weeks and have little or no reason to remove it.

The weight matters to me too! As the arthritis sets in and my MD advances the weight of a mod is important!

Hey @57chilicat ...have you looked at the Encom VoidRay 60W???

    One poster says:

"First thoughts......it is light...light light, and very light. Without a doubt the lightest 18650 mod I have ever held."

A New mod coming: Encom Voidray

I really like the form factor and how well this mod performs. It's fantastic! But their choice of metal is horrible. Tarnishing all over the place. Makes it look really bad.

I'm actually glad I chose dark grey because that's the color the metal is turning.

Wish I could like this but I can't!

Maybe it's just certain batches? :?: I have the grey Pico and none of the stainless seems to be tarnishing at all. Not saying that it won't. It just hasn't yet. Hopefully this isn't another "hit or miss" iStick.

Hmmmm the only part that has tarnished on me was the fire button and I didn't realize it until reading it here. Though I'd prefer that not to have happened, against the white it doesn't bother me especially considering the price and the fact that I prefer this look over chrome. It's just a duller grey than before. It's uniform at least. That being said, I'd always pay more for solid high quality fire button. In over two weeks, I still haven't used another device though. Size, weight, looks, price, form factor, options and overall usability just make this thing a major winner for me.

Thank you for your very informative response. I'm using the sx mini m class with my Ni wire. What I like about is that you can lock the resistance of the wire and then forget it.

So do you think the Pico's TC is accurate enough or close enough with the SX Mini?

    Again, thank you.
