What I believe now is someonen shouldn't be using mods with replacable batteries until they can do a watts calculation from memory and know which specs to use from the battery and mod to figure out head space. Does anybody know of a youtube video that does a GOOD job of explaining it?

There is such a thing as being overcautious, and imo; someone doesn't need to be able to calculate using ohm's law in their head to safely run a ~75W mod with a name brand, (LG, Sony, Samsung) 20A+ CDR 18650 battery, especially when they're using OEM coils.

Is the AW 18650 battery a high drain battery? I use them in my REOs and hope I can use them in my Pico!
I believe so, but they could have different spec'd batteries. I believe AW batteries list their tested specs on the wrapper.

I wouldn't buy a battery from Fasttech either. With all the fakes going around, I wouldn't want to buy from a company based in China JMO.

VTC Mini and Pico are very comparable. I hear the temperature control sucks on the VTC Mini. Not sure about the Pico, but it's never very good in these cheap TC mods.

Pico is smaller though. I think the display on the VTC mini is nicer, but the Pico has an easier interface to use.

I was rebuilding protank coils after the first month. Saves a lot of money. I have a friend that said his neighbor was rebuilding his first week. Just watch a video or have a friend teach you.
The name-brand batteries at Fasttech are authentic. The price isn't cheap enough to order from there though, and you guys in the US have plenty of good vendors to choose from. Here in Sweden we're forced to either pay ridiculous sums or order from abroad (though I order from within the EU, for the most part).

And the temp control on the Evic VTC Mini, and other Joyetech/Wismec mods works very well.

There are more fake batteries on eBay and Amazon than there is on Fasttech. Authentic labeled products on FT are actually Authentic. Since those are usually very close in price to the North American online retailers, there is not a lot of savings from FT and a longer wait for those products.

I always pick up batteries locally or from an reputable online retailer.

Both Joyetech products I have owned (VTC Mini & Cuboid) actually have a very poor working TC so others might have better luck. Of the three VTC Mini's and two Cuboid's I have tried none of them had a working acceptable TC function. I put the same test Atty on the iPV D2 and a Lava Box where the TC performed flawlessly. I am not here to start a Joyetech discussion, just relating my experience with their products.

The question I do have about the iStick Pico is that the TC ranges look very similar to the VTC/Cuboid... Is the control chip in the Pico made by Joyetech? I have one coming in next week so I'll know what to expect or not out of it and use it as a VW only device if need be.

Cheers!

Right. It definitely seems to be a Joyetech chip. I have 5 mods with JT chips and I always use them in SS temp control mode. I've used different gauges of 316 & 304, different gauges of twisted & Clapton wire, fused Clapton and even braided wire. All of my tanks and builds work just fine in TC on all of my mods with Joyetech chips.

Now, the temp settings aren't always equal between normal single strand coils and some of the fancier wires.

Joyetech is the parent company of Eleaf and Wismec and the chips in all these devices are more or less the same. That includes the VF lite, stout, and classic as well.

Here's the most detailed, complete review ya could ever ask for:

It's actually using 2 connected boards. The power accuracy is great, (TC's good, about on par with other recent Joyetech mods), and the signal is completely flat, with nearly no firing delay.

Daniel's mod reviews are even more exhaustive than Phil's.

Problem is, ya can't walk into any B&M and find juice that isn't 80% (or Max) VG and better than 6mg/ml Nic anymore. I DIY but every once in a while I want to try something new, even if not simply for inspiration...

Trying something new...for me...I want inexpensive price, huge selection and great taste.

Derall is $4.33/30ml (when buy 6) w FREE shipping, nicotine up to 24mg. in a variety of PG/VG ratios (starting at 70PG/30VG).

6 PACK SPECIALS - $26

But if I do pick the serpent I would have to get the (3)vtc mini+serpent because they don't sell the pico mod separately here.

$28.95...

Anyone answer a few questions please? Can I put a battery in and leave it until death ( a year?). Safely use as a pass through daily? Charge up as fast as an Istick 30? Use a old carto-tank ( needs bottom airflow)? TY, TY, TY :)

Yes, yes, I don't think so, and yes.
