Got my Pico yesterday and it's a great little mod. I'm trying to get used to the shortness of it as the way I normally hold a mod and fire it with my thumb is a little awkward with the Pico because the fire button sits lower. Here's a picture comparing it with istick 30w, istick 40w and the VTC Mini. You can see that the fire button sits lower.

Nice line up. :thumb:

I find that the button placement on the Pico is much more friendly to finger-firing than using one's thumb. I wrap my hand around the mod, (pinky underneath), and squeeze the fire button with my index finger. I find it very comfortable, and only the topper is visible when held in my hand that way. I always keep display stealth on because who cares about counting puffs, and I imagine it also saves a little bit of power. I often like to vape on the proverbial DL when in public. ;)

Don't own a Pico yet.

I had a little trouble with the fire button on my Kangside Vamo 25w. It's just too short to use a thumb. I found doing what 7sixtwo does works best. Turn the button away from you and fire with index finger.

Easy for you to say. :)

I've been using my thumb knuckle for 6.5 years.

What I wanted to emphasize is that although you can raise your finger away from the mod and press the fire button with the first joint, the curvature of the Pico's fire button makes it particularly friendly to instead being squeezed, so the firing motion is almost imperceptible to an observer. It's also particularly easy to do it that way, while still unlikely to happen accidentally.

For those worried about the size and holding/firing, I have a large hand and what I do is grip mine with my whole fist with my pinky resting on the bottom and fire with the crook of my thumb. Kind of hard to explain but it actually feels surprisingly nice.

Ed: And I say black!! :)

Ed ed: also, @7sixtwo's explanation of how he holds it is what I do too. That's basically "upside down" from what I explained above, but both are comfortable to me. When I hold it as above, I fire with essentially the same part of my thumb as I (and 7six) do with the index finger.

Yes, without a plastic wrapper. I wrote to VapeNW, and they said that is normal. Doesn't make sense since the box specifically states do not use battery if plastic wrapper is damaged. In my particular case, it was not damaged - just missing - as if they had sent a used one.
Could you post a photo of the battery you are talking about? If there is no wrapper the battery is unsafe to handle or use. The entire casing is the negative terminal. It wraps up to the top and stops a short distance from the positive terminal. With no wrapper or a damagad wrapper a single short bit of metal would be enough to cause a short. So show a picture please.

Yeah. I'm starting to find that If I grip it in my fist I can use it either way. If the fire button is towards me I use the inside of my thumb and if I hold it away from my use the inside of my index finger.

I think I can get used to it. :)

You definitely can. There are a number of comfortable ways to hold it IMO. The way I described is how I hold it most often, but it's so small and light even with the battery that I realized fiddling with it just now that sometimes I sort of just hold it with my thumb and middle finger and have my ring finger on the bottom, pressing the button with the tip of my index finger. It's small enough to do that!

Most of my mods are black, so I got a grey Pico. I love it! Might have to get a black one... ;):cry:

Mine too, so that's why I got the black because all of my recent toppers were purchased to match black mods. But they'd look great on the grey too, so would stainless. Especially body-only they're so inexpensive. Hell, I'd consider getting a second full kit because that Melo 3 is one awesome little tank besides having to fill it every five minutes* lol

*approx. ;)

Now with all the talk about grips you all are making me feel bad. I can't be the only tiny handed person who finds the pico comfortable to hold without my pinky underneath. I think there might be kids with bigger hands than me.

Though it is way more comfortable to fire with my index finger than my thumb, which is taking some getting used to. The button being curved makes using my thumb way more difficult for some reason.

Good thing you mentioned "relative".

Speaking of the ego, this setup is my all time favorite; stealth as you can make it - or close. I only vape at 15 watts though ...

I'm actually using the same setup when I need stealthier option and am totally surprised how good it looks and works. Now I'm looking into v2 version of ego one to see what output options it provides, as smaller battery is now 1500mAh which is a decent upgrade. Sorry for messing in Pico thread :)

Got my Black Pico today- really cool little guy.

And for anyone interested in the silicone cover; it's nice. The device on it's own has a good feel, but just a bit too slippery for me. Worth the few bucks if you're on the fence. I also like that I'll never have to take it off since the battery is on top.
