My impression was that for example... the battery charge display as percentage vs. thermometer bar was factory code and toggled with nFWare (I'm blanking on other examples... should have a look at the thing, it's been weeks).

Are those actually user code?
Yes, some of the patches are user code instead of jumps or bit toggles.

I did't see the release notes posted here, so here you go if anyone was interested......

What’s new in firmware V1.01?

New interface for VW mode:
The new interface for VW mode displays resistance of coil, wattage setting and battery bar more clearly, allowing you to have a check easily by a simple glance.

2. Smart mode:
The Smart mode will save one output power setting for each resistance value and can totally save ten groups of such profiles. Once you change the output power setting for a resistance, it will re-save the changed setting automatically. When the Smart mode has already remembered ten profiles and you want to add another new resistance, the first saved profile will be deleted.

3. Custom logo:
You can download or make logos to your preference and put the favorite one in the mod. The logo should be single color picture in the format of bmp with limited 96*16 pixel.

Steps on how to put logo in the mod:
Open the picture you chose with Paint, edit it to be a single color picture of 96*16 pixel, and save it in format of bmp.
Download the file on our website, plug the mod in with USB cable, and double click the EleafUpdate.exe.
Click “LOGO” and open the picture you saved, finally the custom logo is successfully put in the mod.
Press the fire button twice in quick succession when the mod is powered on to enter logo on/off interface and press up or down button one time to turn on or off logo.
When you turn on logo and the mod enters standby mode, the logo appears on the screen till the mod goes to sleep mode.

I'd rather see the voltage in VW mode than have and see some useless "logo".
Then don't update the firmware or roll it back... ;)

That is why I stuck with v3.12 on the Cuboid instead of updating to v3.13, I'd loose the resistance memory clear and the 1W power adjustment.

I also don't need to play Flappy Bird that is included with the Cuboid v3.13.

Switching firmware versions on Joyetech devices is effortless. Try the new one, and just roll it back if you truly hate it.

I think it's great that they've already released an update for the Pico. Also, now that new firmware has been released, it can be customized. ;)

For one thing, eLeaf *actually* releasing an update at all is comforting to say the least.

IINM, the Pico is only their 2nd FW updatable product, and them actually releasing something for it shows that they *do* give a rats behind about their product.

Now all that's left to see is if this ends up being a regular thing like what their parent JT is doing.

Which makes me wonder, how much of eLeaf is still "eLeaf" at this point (or WISMEC for that matter)?

Is it a sub-division or affiliate style thing... or are they all just JT under a different name?

JoyeTech, Eleaf, Wismec, all part of iSmoka. Here you can see them in action, crappy stools if you ask me:

Hi all. So I'm thinking about getting the PICO. Just a quick question. I do have 2 Efest IMR18650 3.7V LI-MN High drain batteries, 35A 2500mah nipple top. I got these batteries about a year an half ago when I was using the vamo, but they do not have much use on them. Will this battery be ok to use untill I purchase new batteries. What batteries are recomended?

I no longer have the .1 problem either. And yeah you loose showing voltage in wattage mode but at least the battery readout looks better. o_O

I'm digging the Smart mode so far but I'm not sure I like the readout. I thought it would just be a smart feature in wattage mode, remembering your wattage settings for each coil, but instead it's its own mode with a different read out.

You choose Smart instead of Wattage, Bypass or TC....

Then use the plus/minus buttons to set your power in 1 watt increments for that coil....

Then when firing, this is the display readout.....

Works like a charm though. I don't have to change anything when switching between my .4 and .5 coils.

The Pico requires flat top batteries.

That has got to hurt after 8 hours. I hope mine was assembled early in the shift.

I suddenly realize those stools might be the reason why my pico's body is so slanted. At first i thought the topcover was dented, then i thought the 510 pin of my tank had bended, but after a close look i found out it was the body itself. Probably cut out when seated on a saggy stool:
