I'm cheap....ah thrifty I mean, and hate when things break soon after purchase. I'd be calling/emailing someone!
It's good. DFW vapor is shipping me a new one. They didn't have the black in stock so I am going with the grey. Hopefully it looks okay. I would rather be safe then sorry, Last thing I need is to burn my apartment down because of a faulty mod. I can imagine the media would be all over something like that.
Lol, I wonder how well the cases on these come apart. I could just do a switch of the guts and put the new guts in the black case.Good call. Not worth the worry. Glad they were good about it. If you're not crazy about the grey you can always put a nice wrap on it. I did that on my plain silver.
I had the bottom off the one that broke but didn't try to completely disassemble it, I just epoxied it back on. I have a grey and it is a very dark grey, fairly close to black. You will probably like it fine and if not just get a wrap or silicone sleeve IMO.Lol, I wonder how well the cases on these come apart. It would be nice to find out what went wrong and share it here. We all want to be safe. Please send the mod back to where it came from and ask them to try and find out what heppened and report it to you so you can share it with us. It's particularly important these days because people are considering what to stockpile.Guys, I just had a HUGE HUGE problem with my Pico. Very dangerous issue. I was in the middle of taking a draw like I normally do, and all of a sudden the timer went to 0.5 seconds and just glitched and stayed there and it kept firing. I think it burnt the wick. I had to quickly unscrew the tank and then the battery to get it to stop. Anyone else have this happen? That could have been a very bad situation if it had been in my pocket or something.
I can note that when I send it back. But I would think the company eLeaf would have to be the ones to go through the code and see if they can find anything wrong. I did update it to the newest version so maybe there is an issue with that code.It would be nice to find out what went wrong and share it here. We all want to be safe. Now I'm re reading what you posted. Are you sure there was a problem? Did you try using the mod after the incident? The particular signs you describe don't necessarily add up to a malfunction.I can note that when I send it back. Pretty sure it's not supposed to auto fire and lock. The fact that the screen wouldn't move off of the 0.5s mark as it was firing continuously is probably not supposed to happen. Now I'm re reading what you posted. Are you sure there was a problem? Have there been any other autofire reports in this thread? How long did you own the mod? You've been vaping longer than me so you have experience. Are you certain the mod fired for longer than 10 seconds? 10 seconds can seem like a long time if you believe there is a problem.Pretty sure it's not supposed to auto fire and lock. I normally draw like 4-5 sec because I have it on low watt to save on battery and the air flow almost all the way shut. When I let off I could hear it still crackling so I got the tank off first and it was still firing as I was taking it off. It wasn't until I got the battery out that the thing reset. I've had some issues with it before where it seems like I'm always adjusting the watts especially in TC mode. It will work good one second then it goes to protection the second I hit the button and seems like it's just kind of everywhere.Have there been any other autofire reports in this thread? sounds like a coil short..make a new oneGuys, I just had a HUGE HUGE problem with my Pico. Very dangerous issue. I am like 100% sure it wasn't the coil. I've been building them for years and if it was a coil, it wouldn't have worked fine before and after the glitch. @Ed_C I think is right. It was a software bug issue because of the way the screen froze on it while it was firing. That is why I am sending it back. Anyway I just built a new coil because I had to switch out glass on the tank. I feel like I have to carefully watch it now to make sure it doesn't do that again. A bad coil wouldn't cause the mod to keep firing, if it was bad it should read like no atomizer or something.Or software just froze. If it happened while you were doing something besides powering your coil, you'd probably would have just powered off and back on and been fine. But agreed, happening while you're vaping is not fun.
