81Hz is good news. Maybe they've already increased it on recent production, since earlier reports were lower.
Does yours have the version screen when pressing both up and down buttons? (Mine does not)

I am not able to get a version screen to show up when pressing both up and down buttons.

yeah I attempted the dental floss maneuver yesterday too, my reading glasses were NOT sufficient, and my jeweler's magnifying arm isn't set up..so thanks!! Home Depot here I come!! IF the circuit spacer from Dave over at Mad Vapes doesn't do the fix.:?:

now if I shake it enough to wiggle the tank enough I'm not having to adjust the tank with every puff:facepalm: ..and I DO love this, it will replace my MVP, they've not been on the charger since I got this istick IF it isn't wonkered that is, I took it out with me yesterday and it's just good I had a back up with me.

and I LOVE Tia Vapes, she approaches is like a newbie finding a new vape gear, I couldn't read that teeninee print on that manual they sent and three clicks of the power button and I'm in VV mode, three more I'm in watts...THANKS TIA!!!! and I DO actually look at the gear in her videos :p plus I get all misty eyed as she reminds me of my all grown up now Foster Daughter.:D

I got the circuit spacer from Madvapes. Cost me $20 in crappy juice cuz I didn't want to waste paying shipping for that small little thing. It worked, but it didn't work very well. My MVP was definitely firing weaker, and the spacer fell out when I tip it sometimes. I knew it would get lost one day and haven't used it since. It's a very easy repair. Just go to Lowes or Home Depot and go to the faucet accessory section and grab #60 O-ring. Use a small, but sturdy screwdriver to pry up the center pin. Use the same screwdriver to pry up the old O-ring (my old one wasn't even torn). The put new O-ring on and push the pin back in, trying to keep it centered. It's been firing without issues ever since. This is a permanent, yet not completely perfect fix, since you have to find a sweet spot in tightness to get it to fire well.

I got an email from him last night asking me what color did I want? He said he only had Blue and one silver but would get more Monday. I told him Blue was fine. I hope to see he has shipped today. We will close him down if he screws this up. I hope he is not waiting on his shipment Monday to send any out. Vape on! :vapor:

General iStick observations after 36 hours:

If you vape vertical coils, dual coils or RTAs, you will probably love this device. If you're vaping 1.5-2Ω single (horizontal) coils, you may not like the iStick. If you normally vape in the 6-8W range, you probably won't like the iStick. I can't seem to get below 10W on anything I currently have. If Eleaf gets the power issues under control, the iStick could be THE APV for everyone but most drippers or giants.

thanks for that. Curious why you say vertical coil users would like istick especially? inferring by context you associate vertical coils with higher power vaping...is that it?

I sent madvapes an email about $9.12 for Fed Ex shipping on a .89 cent part, and Dave sent me back he'd pop one in an envelop (that's very nice of him) but he felt that was too much to spend on one spacer too I guess *lol*

I'll try it and THANKS, question though, this was your MVP? I have a MVP with a wonky pin, but simply prying it with a screwdriver right before a tank does the trick.

but thanks!!! I'll give that oring a shot...if I can get it down in that little hole *lol*

I started having problems with the pin on my MVP after a month of use and read about the o-ring fix. I bought a 10pk of #60 o-rings from Lowes and installed one on my MVP and V5. They're just a bit bigger than they should be (.5mm?) and works for a few days. On the MVP, it's better but I still have an issue once in a while so I have to pull the center pin up a little when it happens but much less often than before.

You need to pull the pin up a few mm before you can install the o-ring. Be careful not to pull it up too much as there's a wire soldered to it inside. I used a jeweler's screwdriver and it was pretty easy to install the o-ring on both MVP and V5.

Wicks in vertical-hollow coils cover more surface area than traditional horizontal/vertical coils that wick through the center of the coil. This puts more e-liquid in contact with the coil, creating a greater cooling effect. This requires more voltage (or Watts/BTU/Joules - however you're measuring) to raise the e-liquid to vaporizing temperature. Therefore, the vertical-hollow coils, like Aspire's BVCs, require more power to vape. It's just Physics...

Screen question, I have the black iStick. Can anyone else who has the black iStick tell me if the display presents a blue cast or muted white cast? Not really a big deal but curious as some of the review I have watched seem to show a screen presenting bluish text. Maybe it is different for different colors or maybe it is just the camera. The screen on my black iStick has somewhat muted white lettering.

Like I said, not a big deal just a curiosity if different color iSticks have different color temps for the displays.

Now that you Mention it... Yes. The Displays on the ones in the Vids do look Blue.

Whereas All of mine look White with Maybe a Slight Blue Tint.

Most likely because of camera colour balance. I have both the silver and black, and I just compared them. Its fairly subtle but my silver has more of a blue cast compared to a subdued white on my black one, however a couple days ago I removed the protective clear cover on my black one and that may be causing a slight difference in colour. I didn't even notice the difference until you asked, because its so slight.

Got another email from this guy informing me he is out of blue would I take black? Sounds like the run around. He better ship tomorrow or I will know something is fishy. Why can't people just do what they say they will do? Oh well, I should have went with another dealer.

I imagined it was the camera as well. Just a curiosity since the ones in the videos seemed to be a slightly different color. I had removed the shipping protection on the screen and wondered if that made it look different. Kind of a silly observation maybe but it peaked my interest. Thank you for all of the replies!
