Discovered last night the pin on the istick is way shorter than the MVP's. I lifted the pin out fully from the body of the stick til I saw the attached wires and hadn't gotten it above the 510 well. I couldn't find purchase enough to hold the pin stable to get the oring on.

So I have an unusable blue istick. I was able to get the pin back into place. Going to try heading over to the local B&M, but never having been, I'm not sure if they'll be able/willing to help.

I'm a very sad vaper this morning.

I wouldn't give up so easily. I repaired mine last night with the O-Ring fix, so I know for a fact that it can be done, and I'm not technical or anything. It took me quite a while to get that center pin to come out far enough. I just worked it out with a small flathead screwdriver from an eyeglass repair kit. Eventually it it got to around the edge of the 510 threading, with the attached wire exposed. Then getting the O-ring on was a challenge, but I put half of the ring on, then grabbed it with some thin tweezers, while pushing the other end down with the screwdriver. Probably took me 20 minutes to complete the process.

You just need to go to to Lowes or Home Depot and grab Danco #60 O-Ring 10 pack for around $3. It can be done, and if you really think the istick is unusable, you really have nothing to lose by trying again.

Not giving up completely. I'd tried with orings I had from my jewelry. Going to buy the right ones from Ace Hardware today and try again. Even if the vape shop can't help, I've needed an excuse to check them out for awhile now.

It was just really scary seeing those wires. Hubby thinks I should take the whole thing apart but I'm just not up to it.

The X Lab: Aspire Nautilus Observations:

Pauly Meatballs addressed the issue of wicking material breakdown to my satisfaction in his subsequent 9 August 2014 autopsy of a BVC atomizer he had vaped for two weeks, noting no apparent breakdown in the wicking material.

Based on Pauly’s autopsy video, I consider the matter closed and will continue to use my Aspire BVC atomizers.

Aspire™ Nautilus Observations

A lot of information presented in this page. I wonder how many others clean their tanks follow the instruction guidelines provided by the X Lab?

Yeah, I wouldn't even think about taking mine apart. If you do, please wear gloves, or you'll end up bleeding like Pbusardo. The Danco O-Ring is really thick, so it's kind of hard to work with, but a little fiddling and it should get on there. If you have a dollar tree near by, they have these really thin tweezers that I used. Don't worry about breaking the O-Ring. It's pretty strong, and even if you do break it somehow, you have 9 more in the same pack.

Ebay has had them for over a month now. I paid $35.99 for mine. The seller has priced them at $34.99 now, and there's another seller pricing them at $30.99.

Mine came with the iStick, box, and ego/510 adapter.

Edit: Looks like the $30.99 listing I saw yesterday is gone. Either they sold out, or ebay pulled it randomly for being a vape ad. They do that all the time to random people.

The cheapest is for $34.44 shipped now. Most people bought it from the seller I got it from (VapeNW), but I don't see their ad now.

Better grab one now, they're selling out really quickly.

Thanks for the link! I wanted the pink one (girly, you know;) ) but I decided I could live with the blue to get one and get it rather cheaply. I also ordered the nautilus mini and some replacement coils from vapenw on ebay. All in all, I saved about $10 getting everything on ebay, so not a bad deal!

THANKS!!

Oh, I didn't realize that you wanted the pink one! I think you could have gotten the pink one from VapeNW for a couple of bucks more. If you "love coffee," I also would recommend the Mach10 ejuice from ITCvapes. It tastes like a nice blend of espresso. Can't beat it at 120ml for $19.99. It's by far the best juice they sell on that site.

I just ordered 2 isticks and 2 aspire mini tanks to go with it. This is my first time going into the mod territory, an upgrade from my Halo Triton.

I started with the Halo Triton as well--you're in for a real treat with the iStick. I'm using one of these wall chargers, dual 2.1amp.

You do not have an unusable iStick, you instead have an iStick waiting to you to restore the pin, just higher it was before you pried it up to see it.....

Unless you cut the wire......

Remember, the pin and the cable have to fit inside the plinth machined on the top plate to insulate the electronic from leakages, and that's why the pin is really short, and if it gets down pushed by a long 510 atty, it ultimately will touch the plate and shorcircuit the 510....

But if you restore it to 'factory condition', it will work flawlessly, at least until the next 'I'm sunken again' episode...

You'll like the blue one. It is a deep and vibrant blue. Really pretty!

Now, I'm confused after reading the last few pages. Do I have a pin problem or a thread problem on my blue IStick? The only tanks I can get to thread on it are my Aerotanks V2 and Mega. My mini Nautis and IBtanked carto tank won't thread on at all or my ego adapter. My threads look ok to the naked (older) eye. My case is further complicated because I get sand in it, a few grains. I'm wondering if my sand settled underneath the pin and it's now uneven hence some tanks no longer thread onto it. Any experts have an opinion?

Have you tried cleaning the threads out with a toothbrush or dental pic. Sounds like you may still have sand in the threads.

I've been wondering why a 3ml bottle used to last me all day. I put an atty with a 510 cart on my istick! Fiddling! We filled more than we vaped!

lol, yes! It was hard work to get to that few minutes of vape time before something went wrong and the fiddling restarted... That and vaping at a weak 3.2 with limited juice delivery made an average of 3ml/day (on a good equipment behavior day) for me as well.

Yes Ma'am. I am aware of this and I agree--whatever works to keep folks off cigs is a good thing.

Hmmm.... Keep talking... :D

Me neither. I just love my Aerotank, 19 mm diameter, dual coils. It has become my go-to topper. That's all I need to know--for now. Everything else is just, well, variations on a theme...

About the Aspire heads, I have to say that I feel uneasy about them too. I cant claim to know what it really is made of and how it functions as its indented use but because I don't have a clue I still feel, umm weird about it.
Now, Im not saying that we are vaping with asbestos, though we prolly are.
Im not saying that the Chinese would use asbestos or a like material for inhalation purposes, ( but they prolly would).
Let me be clear, I jest, I don't know jack.

It does remind me of that though and the irony seems to amusing not to be possible...
Flame if anyone wants too..

Got my "red" one today and OMG, it's gorgeous. The color is even more beautiful in person. Makeup enthusiasts, if you've ever received or seen what the IPSY bubble mailers look like, it's that exact color. A nice metallic/chrome dark pink color. I love it. (cosmetically) It feels heavier/sturdier than I thought it would... which is a good thing. We shall see as time passes how it performs but so far, I dig it.
