Ok folks I need some advice. I set my coworker up with a istick and mini protanks....now one part of the issue is he's brand new to vaping so he continues to vape the tank completely dry....but he's running through his coils like there's no tomorrow. He really likes the protank...is there better coils out there? Or is there something like the protank with better coils that can handle being continuously dry burned and not die?

Aerotank and Emow Mega are bigger and better ProTanks--with airflow control and dual coils, much more suitable for an iStick. I'm suprised he can even use single stock coils--most people report burning issues with single coils. What resistance coils is he using?

You could also teach him how to clean and dry burn Kanger coils--there are many tutorials on YouTube. Kanger ProTank coils can also be rebuilt--either with pre-made coils (3 bucks for 50 at Fasttech, just add a wisp of Japanese organic cotton for a wick), or with nice 30 ga kanthal home-made microcoils.

Lol I love the man but he's up there in age ;) I have to keep filling his tanks for him ;) and trouble shoot problems weekly :D he accidentally turned the istick off and had a panic attack thought he broke it. So simple is best. I can't remember if I got him the 1.8 or 2.2 ohm coils....I believe it was the 1.8 so he could get vape in the 3v range.
And yeah I'm not that great at rebuildable...I tried a cartotank for him but well...not sure what he did but apparently on his first refill he lost a whole brand new bottle of juice....I gave him 20 coils like 3 weeks ago and he's went through all of them. He's tried to clean them but they won't work anymore. I really think it's cuz he is determined to vape every last drop outta the tank  before refilling.

I have a feeling he's just burning the :censored: out of them without even knowing it... You really can't vape any single stock coil below 3Ω on the iStick. He's vaping way outside the specs--they are rated up to 7.5 watts, and the poor man is chugging at 10 watts.

Take those away from him and give him a dual coil atty, please....

Thanks Katya. I will look into that. Hopefully it'll help.
I tried to get him interested in my et but he's not ready to drip lol the way he vapes from tanks Id hate to see him on a dripper where he can't see the juice level

It's just Middle English for the modern word Blunder.

The Tag showed up when it was discovered that they used Mean...

BLUNDER/Blundren — Synonyms and related words : absurdity, act of folly, bad job, be all thumbs, bevue, blooper, blow, blunder away, blunder …

Ow!

That really makes a lot of sense!

Thanks!

I can't think of a more user friendly setup than an Emow Mega on an iStick on its lowest setting. Make sure you get 1.8 or even 2Ω dual coils. Fill the tank, wait two minutes, take a couple of primer puffs without activating the battery (just in case), adjust the airflow (that really needs to be done only once) and you're golden. When the flavor and vapor begin to diminish, grab a new coil.

I've been running Smoktech Tumblers at about 6-7watts and the Aspire Nautilus Minis at 13-15watts since I ordered a pair for the two iSticks here a few weeks ago and haven't gone through a single coil on Mini tanks! The Tumblers have 2ohm coils while I would advise their 2.4ohm standard for this mod. They are better for the other iStick mini 10w mod however since they max at about 10-12w. The Nautilus mini on the other hand maxes out up close to 20w.

Now for starting someone new out immediately putting them into a variable voltage/wattage type device isn't the best idea until they get accustomed to vaping. a basic eGo battery even a Twist over any 10w or higher device would be the best move to start them off with over pushing them right into any APV.

I have a feeling he's just burning the :censored: out of them without even knowing it... You really can't vape any single stock coil below 3Ω on the iStick. He's vaping way outside the specs--they are rated up to 7.5 watts, and the poor man is chugging at 10 watts.

That's on reason why the Smok coils won't handle more then 10-11w max if the wattage is being turned all the way up! The full size Nautilus will handle 20w but still not recommended! The Aspire tanks seem to be the best matched being the BVC type. Genuine ASPIRE Nautilus Mini - 101 Vape

Yet reducing the maximum output would be the better move like going with the MVP if not eGo type battery. 101 has those at a good price. Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 - 101 Vape

Depending on what ejuice is being vaped can also effect where you set any variable wattage device to! Some flavor are best left at the lower wattage while others can be turned up. But that is still best left for the experienced not beginner.

IN CASE ANYONE MISSED IT~

Eleaf GS Air Atomizer uses the same coils as the Joyetech eGrip.
Also has the same eGrip air hole screw & drip tip.

The coil sitting there in the pic is the ONE that it came with- no extras. Actually it comes already inserted in the tank. I took it out & tossed it back in the box just to see if the eGrip coils work. Since they do there was no need for me to switch the coil back out.

My thoughts- I actually prefer the vape of the Eleaf Lemo Drop on my Istick.
I dont think the GS Air is a **must** have for the Istick.

Nice. Do you like eGrip's coils? And how's the airflow on the GS Air?

Do you have a picture of the Lemo on iStick? How bad is that overhang?

The coils are pretty good in the GS Air- honestly, I think they're better in the tank than they are in the eGrip; mainly due to better airflow. That RBA for the eGrip can't become avilable soon enough. It's the reason why I went ahead and purchased the GS Air- the coils wont go to waste & I have 15 of them. They (for me) last a long time in the egrip. Don't know how long one will last in the Air cause I switch up devices throughout the day.

There is a teeny tiny bit of overhang with the Lemo but the leather case actually camouflages it.

I still have to get the Big Dripper Clone to work since that reads 0.5ohm while it would only see the missing error on another mod!. I got that reading using a Fluke multimeter that is quite reliable showing the preformed coils went on good but the atty simply wouldn't fire that low!

For the iStick however I think I stay with the other tanks since those seem to be the best suited. I tried the Aerotank Mini and Mega tanks and kept getting the missing atomizer errors with those. Plus I had ordered 32awg wire for the RDA for use on either of the two 50watter not the iStick.

They look exactly like Aspire BDC coils. Dimitri takes one apart at 13:50 into the video:

That's cheating. ;)

So now I need a leather case... :p
