Update update update: Went back up to madvapes... And of course, the istick behaved exactly like it is supposed to. No problem at all. So they thought I was crazy, or pressing the buttons without realizing it. I told them that when I was trying to figure out what was going on, I was very conscious about not pushing the arrow buttons and just setting it down.

The guy said if it keeps happening, bring it back when they get the new shipment in and they'll swap it out.

I think Most APV's these days have some type of RFID chip embedded in them. That makes them Perform Flawlessly when they are within 50 Feet of the Store you bought them from.

LOL

Did you get the display case one, and it starting acting up as well? Or did your original start acting fine when you tried to show them the problem?

Mine was a display case one. It was on its best behavior the whole time I was there! I tried to show them the problem a good 15 times. Every time, the watts stayed exactly where I had it set! Gah!!!

Anyone get their iStick mini? This thing is lacking the most basic of functions. Performance seems ok, but will throw on voltmeter later to check output.

1. crappy 510 connector
2. NO VW mode!
3. No atomizer readout

I regret this purchase, and will be relegated to backup duty only.

Just curious?

Did the Description where you got yours say that there was a VW Mode? Or that it had an Ohm Display?

I've seen many different listings, some listed it as "up to 10 watts" others said adjustable up to 10 watts. I'm not mad about it, as it's only $20, but it's more a public service announcement. I dont recall any mod released that is VV not to have a resistance readout to this date, so it is a safe assumption that it should be capable of doing so.

Themyst, did you try to click power button 3 times to switch to vW mode?

Yeah, I tried the iStick options, nothing worked. It's voltage 3.3 - 5V with a 10W cap it seems. Not mad, I got it as a stealth device because NYC real nazi about enforcement in parks and such and it performs fine for that purpose.

Seriously? Because you have to use volts (which is basically the same thing, just a different number), and you can't remember how many Ohms your current head is?

Because this product is being misrepresented as being both VV/VW, that is my beef with it.

And do you not know the importance of having an ohm readout? Have you never run into a finicky coil that jumps all over the place? For the average joe that runs off-the-shelf coils (e.g. Kanger) you should well know those things are not consistent across the board. That's is one of the most basic safety features a VW/VV device can offer.

I'm unsure as to why you're defending such a half-assed product when I'm trying to help others avoid making a bad purchase. The only thing it's got going for it is, quite frankly, it's size. It'll work fine for me as a stealth vaper around town, but not the greatest of product otherwise.

The eleaf site was clear that it displayed "seconds vaped, % charge, and voltage". The picture of the display showing 1.5 was deceiving though. That's what changed my mind about getting one.
Not sure what it will do if you have a short.... One site had a warning about sub-ohm atomizers.
Just not sure what all they left out.
It is cute though.

And do you not know the importance of having an ohm readout?

It's of no importance. My istick is the only device I have that shows that info and I never look at it.

Have you never run into a finicky coil that jumps all over the place?

No.

That's is one of the most basic safety features a VW/VV device can offer.

It's an information feature, not a safety feature.

I'm unsure as to why you're defending such a half-assed product when I'm trying to help others avoid making a bad purchase.

Not defending it, I don't even have any interest in it, but to say it's a bad purchase because a $20 device doesn't read your coils for you is a bit of a stretch.

The only thing it's got going for it is, quite frankly, it's size.

Correct, that's all it had going for it from the get go.

Is it really just 20 dollars? No other adapters or chargers needed? It charges with a standard USB to micro cable?

It's an invisible feature, adjusting voltage will adjust wattage, you just can't see what it is...

I don't see where it's being advertised as VW,

2.Adjustable Voltage:press the up-and-down arrow buttons to increase/decrease the working voltage between 3.3V to 5.0V.

Mini iStick

And the LED display features are also mentioned.

1.Top LED Digital Display: Display parameter (vaping seconds, battery power, current voltage) in a circular digital screen.
