How would you feel if my wife was epileptic?
Well, since you bought it up- Is your wife epileptic?

My wife is completely happy with her current equipment. I just wanted to surprise her with a nice gift. I 'm not goin to give it to her if I don't find it suitable. I don't understand why I should let her choose a gift I want to give her. Do you know how hard it is to find a gift every year for your wife after 40 years of marriage?? Am I talkin to a bunch of teenagers? :) (don't want to offend any teenagers)

You never mentioned (that I recall reading) this was a gift for her. But with that said, it's very possible you may find it acceptable and she doesn't. That works both ways and no, I'm not a teenager- although I find it unfair on your part to have left things out that would help us better understand then fire back that you must be talking to teens.

I base many things on my own experiences; not someones blog post. The istick is one of the "best little mod made" and has been a great lil mod for many of us but it's a known internet thing that happy people don't always post when they're happy. It's a given you'll read a lot of negative things by people who are unhappy.

I say let your bride decide for herself; after all, she's the one who'll be using it.

99.9% of the time I adjust to taste, All this RMS vs MEANS means nothing to me and there's not a device that exist that someone is NOT going to find issues with.

Ironically, I agree with everything you say. THanks :)

I completely understand the gift motive.

Let me just say this, you do have the right to find a suitable gift for your bride, period. If you do not think it is worthy, so be it. Can't tell you how many suitable gifts I've purchased over the years only to later find out they sit in a drawer unused, or having been returned. :(

Not trying to sell you on the idea of the iStick. But, given the form factor, size, battery life, this thing is an amazing piece. I do like it for those reasons, it has more than enough power, and battery life to last me over a full day and then some (depending on stress) something my VV didn't have. I am hard on my gear that I use at work, and I still use both of mine to this day, mt iPV will likely remain at home waiting patiently. Many have found using the EGO-to-510 adapter suited the thread/pin issues worked very well. Personally I didn't care for using the EGO 510 adapter and a beauty ring to help prevent thread issues.

I foresee that this will be the year of ultra small box mods. So if you are so inclined to find something you deem to be a suitable device, return or sell the one you bought and wait for one of the many new devices to hit the market. Although I am sure we will find issues with those as well. Or let her see it and let her make the decision herself. Either way I'm sure both of you will be happy in the end and that is what matters most. :2c:

Tell the others that seem to be taken back.. All I did was say I didn't like it cause of the threads and wanted to get something else for a gift for my wife.. You are way overthinking this. I gotta start usin more smiley faces. :) :) :)

I must have missed that post. The only one I recall was you saying something about reading someone's blog post & dismissing the iStick because of that.

You have to understand that many of us have not had one single problem with the iStick but we're out numbered by the few people who post repeatedly about the same problem- so yea- it would make it seem as though it's bigger than it really is.

The simple solution- if the 20W iStick gives you pause, just buy the 30 or 50W with all issues fixed.

Epileptic? You act like she's braindead!
I'm just tired of hearing how you wasted $32. It has taken you pages and pages to tell us. Please, as someone else said, get over it and move on (to another thread).

all the man said is that he is no longer sure he picked the right gift ;)

knowing how much i enjoy mine - provari and dna40 are sitting unused - he might be in for a surprise :D but there is no cause for being uncivil.

aah! that gives me an idea! usually, when people are not happy with a device they will try and sell it ;) so ........... how come isticks are showing up rarely in the classies? apparently, offerings are so scarce members are now searching for used ones in threads! :D

bikenstein, don't form an opinion until you have the istick in your hand! maybe it'll be the right gift after all ;)

It's posts like yours that keep me interested in the istick. It must be a decent mod for you to put your Provari down. :D
