Just picked up a 30w from a local B&M. It was a tad pricey (Ohhhhh B&M's:glare:) but it works as expected without any button rattle. My 20's don't rattle either though. Now all I need is for them to re-stock SUBTANK Mini's and I'll have finally found my Holy Grail of vaping setup. ...I think.:D

I'm waiting on an IStick 50W, and I've been using a Sub tank Mini for a week now, and loving it!

I'll use my VaporShark and iStick 50W with the Sub tank Mini, and I think you can stick a fork in me.... I'm done!!!

(Yeah... I've said THAT before!)

Yes, I've got one. Are you a professional reviewer, or do you play one on TV? That was excellent, sisu!

And about that O ring lubricant... do you have any idea of the ingredients? I'm kurious, as I know a dab of PG or VG (or both) works perfectly well.

No professional here. Just kind of stoned on pain meds and kept rattling on. Now, I've accidentally deleted it. Maybe Nancy Reagan was right.

It was an impulse buy. I have no idea what is in it. I had thought of several things to use, such as Noalox, WD-40, and Carmex, but they didn't seem like good ideas. Now, thanks to you, I know what to use and they are a heck of a lot less expensive.

Thank you!

Hi everyone,
Apologies if this has been answered already. I have the 20W istick and I only vape at low wattage (5-6W). When I vape at 5W on the istick it's harsh, compared to eg vaping at 5W on MVP or rDNA40. I understand this is a flaw with the 20W istick (no step up/down or something). I can't seem to find a definitive answer anywhere as to whether the istick 30W and/or istick 50W solve this issue for low wattage vaping (or improve on it at least).
Thanks!

I had a question (ok it's kind of a multi part question), this isn't completely istick related but maybe someone here can help me out. I love the ego adapter than came with my istick, the ring on it perfectly fills the gap that would normally be there when using any other adapter and a beauty ring. And it also keeps me from screwing the adapter down any further than needed. But my only problem with it is that it isn't sealed. Are there any safe ways for me to seal it myself? Like maybe soldering it closed? Or would the metal that you usually use with a soldering iron not be safe? I have other sealed adapters but I just don't care for them as much as this one. Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated! :)

What? You are required to read the previous 10,500+ posts to find your answer! j/k
I've got the 30W, and like you, I prefer a low-wattage vape. Seems we are in the minority.
And it's why I avoided the 20W.

As to wattage, the ISticks seem more tuned to voltage. As such, your coil ohms will determine the wattage at a particular voltage.
The 30W is altogether more accurate. However, BELOW 3.0V, it reverts to a more wacky IStick 20W type behavior.
So AT/ABOVE 3.0V, it has been tuned to RMS ('smooth, normal, accurate')
So if your coils are 1.8 ohms or above, you should have good results on the 30W.

The 50W is supposed to be even more tuned, but the verdict is still out on that until they ship I suppose.

Edit:
The above results of sub 3.0V performance were provided by several users testing on a scope.
My 1.6 ohm coils at 5 watts will be 2.8 volts (wacky)
I usually run my Aspire K1 around 6-7 watts.

Because the iStick 20 is tuned to Vavg (mean) instead of RMS, you'll have to use a 3.0Ω coil to get 5.6W at the minimum setting of 3V. You're other alternative is to pick up an iStick 30W which does exactly what you want without fussin' around.

If you have any more questions regarding your iStick, check out my blog posts. Most issues are explained.

Good luck!

The last thing you want to do is seal the adapter with solder. Solder is conductive by design. You will short the device and not be able to vape. If you feel that you really must seal the adapter, go to a hardware store/big box hardware (Lowes/Home Depot) and pick up some High Temp Silicone Caulk. You'll need less than a piece of chewing gum to do the job.

Thank you! I'll try that out. Will this release any bad tastes as it's heated though? And would this other brand be ok to use instead, smaller size and probably cheaper, it doesn't say "high temp" but it lists it as -75F to 400F (the 3oz one)

Using a Nautilus mini helps. Apparently, the volume of liquid, glass and metal absorbs some of the heat. It was a challenge to vape on the iStick 20w with a plastic Aspire CE5 BVC. The inhale always had to be soft and short. The Aspire K1 (lightweight glass and metal) was inbetween, but closer to the Naut. mini than the CE5 BVC. I gradually learned to increase my heat tolerance by using the Naut.mini. Got a lot more flavor with additional heat.

The problem has been resolved with the iStick 30w and 50w.

Which kartos? From where? (I use ONLY XL-45mm ones.)

Thanx for the link. iStick skins...$1.99 for a 5-pack...hard to ignore...

iStick Wraps

Me...I plug my iSticks in to charge last thing before going to bed. I wake up...they're READY. (Don't tell KAT I posted this.)

I see the sub-ohming "craze" as being more aimed at "hobby vapists". I...as an "analog-convert vapist"...am quite content with my CartoTanks at 7-9 Watts and my Nauty BVC's at 11-12 Watts. This gives me the same amount of taste/vapor/TH/pleasure/enjoyment as I LOVED with my (previous) analogs.

Thus I really have NO interest in going over 15 Watts. BUT...I still plan on getting the 50W-iStick. Those 4400mAh are awfully attractive!!!

You sound a lot like me, gerry"mi"...

Kartos? SR XLs slotted. I find them to feed much better in certain applications, and 5.95 a box wasn't too shabby. (sweet-vapes)

I won't tell her anything! But you did promise to tell the peeps that you charge your batts in a SAFE CHARGING BAG....... right? ;)

I smoked Marlboro Menthols. Never tried Analogs or Stinkies. I did smoke some Horse S..t cigarettes one time. wuz nasty

With you. They are cigarettes.

I like it! RMS -- Real More Smooth.
