I had a question (ok it's kind of a multi part question), this isn't completely istick related but maybe someone here can help me out. I love the ego adapter than came with my istick, the ring on it perfectly fills the gap that would normally be there when using any other adapter and a beauty ring. And it also keeps me from screwing the adapter down any further than needed. But my only problem with it is that it isn't sealed. Are there any safe ways for me to seal it myself? Like maybe soldering it closed? Or would the metal that you usually use with a soldering iron not be safe? I have other sealed adapters but I just don't care for them as much as this one. Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated! :)

Please keep in mind that thousands of people are using the unsealed 510/ego adapter with no problems. I use a variety of tanks on my iSticks. There has been no need for a sealed adapter. When adding liquid or changing coils I use a Q-tip to remove the drop or two of liquid that had settled on the adapter. A drop or 2 of liquid from the bottom of the coil housing is normal. I have accidentally unscrewed part of a few tanks while still attached to the adapter. Liquid ran everywhere. There was liquid in the adapter but none on the 510 pin. The reason is eliquid is relatively thick compared to water. The hole in the bottom of the adapter is tiny. The thickness, in addition to the pin in the bottom of the adapter, prevents the liquid from getting to the 510 pin. I rinse and clean the adapters in almost boiling water once a week which is overkill. Unless your tank is leaking a lot of liquid there should be no problem. If the tank is leaking heavily there may be a problem with an o-ring. Excessive leaking can also be caused by tightening the tank or coil too little or too much.

Thank you! I'll try that out. Will this release any bad tastes as it's heated though? And would this other brand be ok to use instead, smaller size and probably cheaper, it doesn't say "high temp" but it lists it as -75F to 400F (the 3oz one)
http://www.amazon.com/Permatex-80050-Silicone-Adhesive-Sealant/dp/B0002UEPVI

What you link to should be fine.

To be perfectly honest, I have never done this before. We use silicone gaskets and o-rings in our setups all the time with no bad tastes. If your 510 connection is getting hot enough to release a bad flavor/odor from cured silicone, you have bigger problems. 400F is really hot; like 3rd degree burns hot.

Using a toothpick or dental pick, work a little silicone into the space you want to seal. When finished, while the silicone is still a liquid, wipe the outside of the adapter down with a warm, wet paper towel to remove any residue. Let it cure twice as long as the packaging states or at least over night, whichever is longer. Remember that silicone is an insulator and prevents the flow of electrons. Try to keep it where you want it and away from where you don't.

Good luck!

Tell me about it, shack! If I didn't have to be in this region, I'd look at relocating somewhere MUCH warmer. I hear Cuba is still cheap these days...

Me, too. I'm here because I have to be. If I could find a way to another region, I definitely would. I have had my quota of Northeast winters.

I use these. Are sealed. Says "510=>eGo" but also works fine as 510=>510. Nice place to "rest" your thumb. Looks "nice" on the iStick.

510 to eGo Adapter with Well

You sound a lot like me, gerry"mi"...

Kartos? SR XLs slotted. I find them to feed much better in certain applications, and 5.95 a box wasn't too shabby. (sweet-vapes)

I won't tell her anything! But you did promise to tell the peeps that you charge your batts in a SAFE CHARGING BAG....... right? ;)

Are these the ones you're "recommending":

Boge 510 XL Slotted Cartomizers

I never rolled my own cigarettes. I don't DIY or rebuild. And...the only "SAFE CHARGING BAG" I use has "Trojan" on the label...:headbang:

Pbusardo MVP3 review. Sorry, didn't check the last 10 pages. Can't wait for the iStick 30w review. Should be close down to the line.

Edit: I just watched it, and fell asleep in the middle. Sometimes I think he makes these videos unnecessarily long. Spent too much time on useless stuff and his thumbs down sometimes seems to be nitpicking just a bit much.

I mean really, who cares that it flashes the resistance if you don't have a tank on it. How often are you going to be staring at the screen without a tank on it? Who cares if it flashes instead of saying "Atomizer Short" or "No Atomizer Found" (like the iStick does I might add).

Takeaways are that even Innokins device was slightly off on voltage (0.1 to 0.3v), but there is no Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) so the signal stays clean throughout. I noticed the difference when I went from my MVP to the iStick 20w that it wasn't as "smooth" but I learned to live with it.

Also there's a "ramp up time" of 0.4 seconds while it fires, but prepares to send the actual voltage. Not sure if that is good or bad in real world use. Would you rather have lag, then fire.....or an immediate fire, but ramp up to the actual voltage? Not sure.

Going over the video now, his chart is showing that it maxxes out at 4 volts

I decided to pick up and try the 30w for my lemo for the coming warmer months because my sigelei 100+ will be too big for a blue jeans pocket. 7 hours into my first day at work with it and I have to say, I'm impressed and think I may pick up another the next time one falls in a coop. I took a quick pic of it last night with the lemo on top. Nice and small. :)

I'm also waiting on a 50w for my goblin and the sigelei is retired to dripper duty. :)

If we can show off about something that is undoubtedly the weather... Now we are at 4 degrees (Celsius) but usually, in February, we get 8 to 12 minimum...
And three hundred absolutely clear skies each year...

My region in Spain, Italy and Greece share a lot, and not only speaking about the weather...

Tapatalking... Mind those lampposts!
