Thanks for the replies so far, guys. In response:
What I do notice about the IStick is, it seems to display ohms higher then what they really are... my .5 ohm coil is displayed as .6 (it's displayed completely wrong on my VS, as 1.8 ohms, but I've heard others report that their IStick 50w displays their resistance as one tenth of a degree higher then what it actually is_)
Perhaps you got a bad IStick 50w? I'm completely loving mine... amazing power, easy to use, small size and battery life that goes for days.
Where in Los Angeles are you? I'm in Woodland Hills... PM me if you are nearby, and I'd be more then happy to let you try mine and see if yours is a defect.
My version is showing me the same ohms as my other devices so I'm not sure that's it. I'm thinking I probably received a bad copy. Thanks for the offer to let me try yours but i'm in Downtown which, with LA traffic, is basically on the other side of the country from Woodland Hills.
Inquiring minds want to know also... I'm still on the fence between the i50 and Sig 150 , I only need 50w but I need a full amount of power. I can't stand reduction in power as battery fades.
Question for you, what gauge are you running at what ohm load? Each type of chip has its limitations and sweet spots.
In answer to your question, here are some specifics on the attys I've tried with the iStick so far:
Tugboat: 26 gauge dual coil at .8Ω
Magma: 28 gauge single coil at 1Ω
Doge: 26 gauge dual coil at .6Ω
Silo: 1.6Ω Aspire BVC head
I said this same exact thing a couple days ago. If i use the same atty on my iStick 50 and my Sig 150 and set both to 40 watts, the Sig 150 will instantly heat the coils up whereas the iStick takes a second or two. I actually start pressing the button as soon as I grab the iStick in order to reduce the lag time. The power coming off my Sig 150 and IPV3 just feels cleaner too. That's the best way I can describe it. All that doesn't matter though because the iStick is only my secondary device for out of the house. It's still a great device and will serve it's purpose well.
Yeah, I really like the form factor and small size of the iStick, but having to crank it up for my attys to perform as expected is a bit of a drag, to be honest. I'm definitely leaning towards exchanging it for a different copy.
