So took some pics of my istick 30w and the Aspire K1.
Love them both!
The form factor and long battery life are my favorite features of the 30w.
The K1 is great little tank for a MTL, low wattage flavor vape, but I'm waiting on the cotton BVC before getting more.
I figure the 50w is on the 'to do list'. :p
I will post pics some time later of the 30w with my new kayfun V4.

Awesome mud!!!!

ETA: Yea, didn't think I needed a 50w.
But the KF V4 seems a bit top heavy on the 30w.
And with the K1 - all day battery life with the 30w.
Not so much with the KF - thus the 50w to-do@

Yeah I know I will get a 50 or two too. :) Soon, but i'm playing with lots of phun stuff right now and really need it like I need several more holes in my he... up mod stand! :)

Yes, if you use voltage mode, going from a 2.0 ohm coil at 4v and 8w to a 1.0 ohm coil at 4v , your watts would go to 16 (approximate). You would have to decrease the volts to get the same power output in watts.
If you are in watt mode, your voltage would drop automatically. If you are at 8w with a 2 ohm coil and put a 1 ohm coil in your v will drop from 4v and the output will stay at 8w. It all depends on your preference of adjustment. I prefer voltage mode.

Oh, I meant comparing the i50 to other mods like the sig150 or ipv3. If 40w hits stronger on the Sig then I may have issue with the i50.. I'm a stickler for accurate fast power throughout the charge... Going from series/stacked batteries to parallel may leave me disappointed.

It is my first order with them. I'm not in a rush for it and when I saw the silicone covers so cheap I jumped on it. I'll post here when it arrives.

Rocky Mountain Vapor has some of the fastest shipping I've experienced. The items typically leave their warehouse in the same day. I get my items from them faster than when I order from vendors within my state (CA).

From the German o-scope readings I've seen, the 50 is highly accurate. As far as instant fire, I think there is a fraction of a second lag in the 50. I can't comment on it because mine haven't came in yet. The 30 for me has performed so well I sold all my other mods. Maybe you should be thinkin about an SMY 260w. They use 3 18650's in series :)

I wouldn't say the i50 hits weaker than say something with a Yihi SX330. It just takes longer to get to that desired wattage. It's almost as if the chip E-Leaf used was programmed to ramp up slowly to it's set wattage. Maybe it was done on purpose to help prevent noobs from burning up their cotton.

The 20 W has it, and I presume that all the iSticks have it also: a brief lag between the tap on the firing button and the actual current being provided to the atomizer. That's because of two main things. Firstly, the device is always checking the atomizer resistance, with a 100 mV current in the 20W. I don't remember how often it does it, but it is surely less than one second between pulses. That's how it reads the resistance in real-time (at least meanwhile the screen is on). Busardo's depiction of it in its review of the 20W was 'it has a heart-beat, I'm not sure why, but it has it...'

But they also have to discern between taps for firing and taps for setting things up, like changing the VV/VW mode (three clicks) or powering the device itself on/off (5x). eLeaf's designers decided not to feed the atomizer in those taps.

I wonder if that delay could be misinterpreted as a soft firing after all, when you are driving the 50W at high settings......

Bike stein thank you for the response. Well put and easy to understand. That's what I thought I guess both reads has a purpose, I'm just not sure what it is.

The main difference between volts and wattage settings, is that when in voltage mode, that's exactly what you get, regardless of coil resistance, so if you change coils or your resistance changes, the wattage at the coil will go up or down. When in wattage mode, the device checks coil resistance and adjusts the voltage output to obtain the desired wattage, giving you a more consistent vape

I've noticed an approximately 1 second lag between firing the iStick 50w and the coil heating up. I thought could be the gauge of the wire and the resistance but I've tried firing the iStick at low watts and high watts and there is still a 1 second lag.

Nevertheless, I'm enjoying the iStick 50W. My only complaint so far is that the display is not centered and is cutoff when viewed at an angle. The display cutout near the bottom of the iStick curves and it curves too early. See the photos to see what I mean. I've also showed the display with the text flipped.

Very well said.

Thanks for the replies so far, guys. In response:

My version is showing me the same ohms as my other devices so I'm not sure that's it. I'm thinking I probably received a bad copy. Thanks for the offer to let me try yours but i'm in Downtown which, with LA traffic, is basically on the other side of the country from Woodland Hills. ;)

Oh man do you have THAT right......

HEY! I know prolly no one really cares, but my BadStick 30 with the wonky port arrived back to the vendor in Macademia and Pineapple Land today! I sent it Saturday. Not bad for an overseas trip, eh?

I'll keep you all posted, because I'm positive you won't sleep unless you know the details of this adventure.

So you'll all been sitting on pins and noodles, right? Welp. Shout out to Eccigity in the Aloha State. The replacement black 'Stick 30 arrived...... TODAY!

We're back in biz and the port seems tight and secure.

I also got a new tank today. The Anyvape Cerotank v2. Are any of you familiar with this one? It's QUITE a great little tank. It looks like a smaller version of the Kanger Aero Tank, but takes a variety of coils, including the much love BVCs by Aspire (non-Nautilus).

And the air flow control is spiff. :D

Liking it!
