I've had a smok VCT for just over a month now; it's the X2 kit with the dual 0.4 coil. I rather like it and I'm a mouth-to-lung vaper only, and it works quite well for that. I also have the Subtank Mini and unlike most folks, I didn't care for it but maybe it's just not suited to MTL. The smok seems very well made and has never given the slightest problem, not even a gurgle.

Here's mine on the 30;

MORTIS, thanks a million.....now that I know at least one fellow iSticker has used this tank and enjoys it......I'm fumblin for a CC at the moment.

Seriously, I will order a couple, figured someone here had to have tried one of these attys......:)

I've been drooling over that for a couple of weeks trying not to buy it.

yeah, the only thing I don't like is it says "adjustable center pin" so I'm guessing it's not spring loaded, still better than fixed though. And I wonder if the threads are SS or what the 20w's have. Either way it's tempting. If I had a bigger vape budget I'd probably try it out lol

Ah, I didn't even notice that about the center pin. But for the price, I can see using an air control valve or adapter all the time to keep the threads good.

Looking good, Kat should be proud. :)

I consider a good wrap Man Bling ;)

Man bling! KD approved.... big time!

And hi all! It seems like I haven't been in these parts for quite awhile. I had an issue with a 'Stick 30 that I recently bought, and started thinking outside the 'Stick box. I still have a few but I'm "investigating" a couple of others on The Sheet. One that caught my eye was the Welly. My BFF ordered us each one of them.

What's a Welly? Welp. It's the Smowell 50, but I don't like the name, so I changed it.

We shall see. :D

I went through 6 Nautilus BVC's within the last 4 hours. Not sure if I just got the bad batch of these, but just as a heads up, don't buy them. Find out what you're going to get first (call, email, whatever!).
Aspire made some newer coils for a short period with bigger air holes, but these are NOT the new ones that some people are talking about (without the 'ceramic paper'). I believe, the new ones are over at WorldofVape. I will probably be ordering a pak of those this week to try them out and then I'll know if I want to change all together if I dislike them (but they are suppose to be pretty tasty).
I just went back to the ones with the smaller holes and as usual, they are working just fine.
Okay, I think I'll go now because I might be sick. They tasted like freegin' solder! Maybe I'll go over and get some cake at Kat's party to calm my stomach. :p

Oh Troll, that IS pretty cool. I like the gas tank. :D
I'll PM back in a while. Thanks

IMRs, I got sooooooooooo lost with the Aspire changes in coils it's just not even funny. I'm still using the old style, and (shhhh.... don't tell Katya) liking them. I can NOT keep up with the big hole, little hole, non-ceramic, old, new, improved.... I have no idea which is which, and have ZERO intention to take one apart to find out. I put them in, vape them, and when they stop performing, boom, out they go. I applaud your resilience and abilities to vape the solder.

Yes, it's time you come to the Kat party and have some CARAMEL cake. (That's the only flavor we've got, by the way, but it's tasty!!) :D

Kinda neat form factor that. I saw a description on "gearbest" which said in part:

OLED Warnings:
HIGH INPUT: When the input voltage is higher than 4.5V, pls replace battery.

http://www.gearbest.com/electronic-cigarettes/pp_154194.html

Does that mean it only fires up to 4.5V? Doesn't step-up?

Just curious.

Edit: Nvm. Must mean that if the battery is putting out more than 4.5V it's defective and should be replaced. (duh)

IMRs,

Is it possible you got some clone coils instead of the real deal from Aspire? I ask because I (stupidly) ordered clone BVC's from FT, and OMG - they taste HORRIBLE. Some kind of metallic taste that will NOT go away. They are suited for the trash only. I rolled the dice and lost. That's the first thing I thought of when I read about your issues with some BVC's.

Kat,

I ordered two of the Smowell DPV-50s---one from fasttech (for $39 pre-ordered a month and a half ago) and another more recently from gearbest when the price dropped to $32 bucks. The one from fasttech arrived on Saturday. It was DOA. The chip was defective and the display screen showed only gobbledygook (randomly changing pixels, like a kaleidoscope).

I'm not unhappy that it was defective, however. Construction seemed shoddy, and I had concerns about the chip anyway, since it's the same chip that had problems in the SMOK 50W box, the one they replaced immediately with the 65W version. I've even wondered about the possibility that SMOK dumped all those 50W chips dirt cheap to Smowell.

At any rate, now I'll get my $39 back from fasttech. Presuming that the second DPV-50 is not defective when it arrives from gearbest, I'll decide then whether it's worth keeping.

I have about 30 of the earlier BVC coil heads, in both Nautilus and clearo style (for the Aspire K1 and CE5S). While the kerfuffle over Aspire's use of "ceramic" (fiberglass?) in those heads warrants concern, my experience is that those coil heads perform brilliantly---giving great flavor and a lovely, smooth draw. I've decided to use up all my stock of the old heads, but to do so more quickly than I otherwise might, vaping each one about half as long as I would have, then tossing them.

I rebuild my Kanger Subtank and Atlantis heads with 26 gauge vertical coils at about 0.7 ohm wicked with KGD cotton, and they perform just like the originals, but the smaller BVC Nauti and tiny BVC clearo heads proved too hard and finicky to rebuild effectively for me, so I gave up on even trying to do so. Once my stock of old heads is used up, I don't know if I'll buy new cotton-only heads for those older Aspire clearos (Nauti, K1, CE5S) or just retire them in favor of RTAs/RDAs.

No, these were from MyFreedomSmokes and they do have the security jazz on them. Like Kat mentioned, the old ones are just awesome. I never had a problem with them. I considered trying the new ones with the organic cotton today, but WorldOfVape is out of the 1.8's. I refuse to make yet another change and buy the 1.6 in which I am unfamiliar with using. :(
Welp, I am probably going to start my search for a new rig - AGAIN, very soon unless these new coils are that much better

Well, that's disappointing then on the Nautilus BVC's. I haven't used my Nauti mini's since I got my GS-Airs, tho. If you're in the market for a new rig, I can't recommend the GS-Airs enough. Fantastic and at a great price, especially from evape.us.

C'mon - join us tootle-puffers. You know you want to! ;)

I'll second that recommendation. I recently traded a subtank for a couple of nautilus minis AFTER enjoying my GS Airs for a month. I was very disappointed with the nauti's in comparison, even though they had the older BVC coils that everyone liked. The GS Air just gives me a much nicer vape.

This sounds very tempting, at this point. I just checked evape.us and they are sold out. :( Wow, that's nice. 9 bucks is nice!

A lot of us got ours at Sweet Vapes:

Eleaf GS Air Tank

You can also get a pack of coils there for about $9.50. And those coils last quite a long time.

Evape-us gets them in pretty frequently. Just check back if you're not in a hurry. Their price cannot be beat and their service is quick and reliable.
