Your husband's not the sharpest knife in the drawer?

That's debatable lol. No, the exacto knife we have isn't as sharp as we thought (it's old) so it wasn't cutting as well as we wanted, it pulled the paper back in some places instead of cutting through it. It's only around the edges, but I have major OCD about that stuff and I'm super impatient which is a HORRIBLE combo lol bc I want it done PERFECTLY... RIGHT NOW!

There are several YouTube videos on how to fix the center pin of an itastes vv3 or an MVP, one guy uses a tiny oring from a hardware store instead of dental floss. The procedure is the same for pin problems in any of the devices. Maybe you can find the oring instead of trying to tie knots?

After spending a frustratingly long amount of time trying to get the dental floss under the center pin I gave up. and looked around for a o-ring. I found one on those cheapie keychain eyeglass screwdrivers that have a cap. I think it came with my kayfun clone kit. that little o-ring slipped right under the pin using a tweezers. it works great. Now everything I screw on fires.

If anyone is have firing problems use look for those tiny keychain screwdrivers and use the o-ring from that.

So far using Aerotank and Aero Mega tanks. Also arrived today was my first carto tank. UD AGR+ DCT. Hoping I like it. Using Boge pre-punched cartos.

If your experience is anything like mine...you'll LOVE the CartoTank...until...you try a Nautilus with BVC coils...

But now I've got the dreaded "no atomizer" with a 5 different toppers. I tried pulling the center pin and that works for a little while till it settles back in and won't fire. anyone got any tips?

I thought you said a few pages ago that although the output seems weak compared to when new, the battery life has not changed.

Yes that's what I said. The battery seems to last a long time before the meter tells me to recharge it, but the output power seems much lower than it used to.

How long a battery charge will last is not mysterious. It's a calculation based on Ohm's Law using current flow relative to the battery's rated capacity (in the iStick's case, 2200mAh). Certain user variables can make that calculation more complicated (length of your draw and how hard you draw), but it's not rocket science.

If you're vaping the iStick constantly near the top of its rated output (20 watts), vape time will be significantly less than for low-wattage users. One half? One third? That depends on how much current you're pulling from the battery with each draw. But, no, a 2200mAh battery vaped at 20W can't provide anything close to all-day performance.

On the other hand, you may have a defective battery. You've written that your iStick isn't hitting as hard as it did and that charging takes less time than before, so perhaps your particular battery is a lemon. All I'm suggesting is that you can calculate how much time you should get from a single charge and compare that to what you actually get.

Thanks for the explanation, but I'm not complaining about how long the charge lasts. It lasts a good long time.

Not having and pin issues but wondering what gauge o-ring would work for this. I have lots of spare orings from all my body jewelry that should do perfectly. Will experiment and report. You should be able to pick them up cheaply at any body piercing shop.

ETA: It looks like 4g would be the right size, but looks like it'd be too thick for the job. I'm hesitant to jam something down in there just to see.

I left a comment about dental floss on someone's youtube video where he replaced it with a Danco #60 O-Ring. I did temporarily fix my MVP with Dental Floss, but the same thing happened after a while. The pin would get pressed down from me constantly switching tanks. I eventually went to Lowes and got that O-ring he mentioned. 10 pack was $2.49, but if you're lazy, don't have a Lowes/Home Depot near by, or they don't have them in stock, there's a seller on ebay that offers them for around 5-6 bucks after shipping.

The O-Ring did fix the problem, but now I can't tighten the tank all the way. Well you can, but the airflow becomes restricted, so you have to find the sweet spot when tightening. I think my MVP will be staying home from now on. I'll go with my iStick and an ego twist as my backup. I like to carry 2 in case there's an issue with one of them, and it allows me to switch flavors easily, but the kayfun/istick combo I just got yesterday is working so well it would be hard for me to switch off like before.

P.S. I've tried to cut the O-ring in half with an Xacto knife and a box cutter, but that ring is so strong that it just bounces back and laughs at me.

I had issues with flooding/leaking at first. Guess I overdid filling the carto. After about 1.5 mls dripped through, it settled down and is a lovely vape. Nice to be able to top it off with the little fill hole at the top. I've been careful not to block the airway when refilling so haven't had any further issues. Nice to have syringes handy to do this kind of thing.

You know, for Phil Busardo to bump the iStick up in his review queue really says a lot. I'm sure he has more unopened gear than a B&M just sitting around. And for Joyetech to send it to him directly means he has an inside contact for some quick answers if questions arise before he finalizes the review. (Like he didn't have that before). I honestly didn't expect anything untiil November.

Unless the thing pisses him off (recessed 510 pin, button not "clicky" enough, blows up in his face), I still expect a thumbs up.

Hehehe... I just want to know if 3 volts is 3 volts--or something else. :D

Having said that, I'm glad I saw his first review of the MVP--he was spot on--and Innokin made all the changes he had recommended. To their credit. I waited, got the MVP2 and I couldn't be happier.

So... go Phil! :thumb:

Thanks for the explanation, but I'm not complaining about how long the charge lasts. It lasts a good long time.

Sorry you asked earlier......I've been going strong for about three weeks and use one of the following
a) KFL 2.0ohm coils and run it around 8 watts
b) Nautilus Mini 1.8 ohm coil and run it 10-12 watts depending on the juice.

So...I don't run near as high on the watts as you do.... I'm boring:D
