I think the istick is really nice. It just didn't work for me using (for example) an EVOD clearo with a 2.5 ohm coil (factory). That was with MBV 50/50 liquids.

You've got my curiousity. What wasn't working? I'd like to work within this range of stuff up to 2.5 ohm if possible. If the istick won't perform in those paramaters, maybe my interest will wane.

@Bored2Tears:

I decided to buy one now and buy another as a back-up when version 2 comes out - errr....unless I need another before then. I've only had mine for less than a week, but I'm quite happy with it. Not that I've actually counted, but it seems most buyers who have posted here are also pleased with their purchases.

That's the sense I am getting. I'm not sure I NEED it ....but I've been working with a Kamry X6 battery. It's variable voltage to a degree.... you can run it at 3.6, 3.8, or 4.2 v. I've got a number of issues running my Protanks on that battery, but that's another story.

I normally run 1.8ohm or 2.2ohm coils. I found that the 2.5 v coils aren't working well on this setup. As long as the iStick will run anything well between 1.8 ohm and 2.5 ohm, then I think I'm gonna make the leap.

Do you know of ANY product that hasn't had defective units sold/in circulation? No product is perfect.
I really don't think the iStick is defective and I believe they all perform as as Eleaf intended. It's this "potential" misrepresentation of output I have issues with - that's all. All Joyetech/iSmoka/Eleaf has to do is acknowledge or deny the iStick uses Vavg. For reasons good, bad or indifferent, they chose not to. (And they are indeed aware of the question).

If you decide to get one, just remember to start with a low power setting (I'm using watts, but it shouldn't matter) and go up slowly until you hit your sweet spot. I've been using the iStick at 6 to 7 watts using either an IGO-s RDA (currently 1.7 Ohm) or a Mini-Protank 2 (2.1 Ohm, rebuilt).

And now I run away!.......

Thanks for all the equations. Not sure that I've seen all of them since undergrad.

This is why end users should just expect three things from the manufacturer's specs, reasonably accurate voltage regulation, Vrms & Amp limit. This way we can plug things easily into good old Ohm's Law and not have to worry about the eye-crossing math.

In my hands, even set at 3.0 volts, the iStick burns the 50/50 MBV liquids when using a Kanger clearo (single coil, 2.5 ohm). On my other mods, they taste burnt at >~4.0 volts, unless the coil is getting gunked up.

Mind you, this is with factory 2.5 ohm coils.

did I "NEED" it, no, the mvp's and vision spinners work great. This is better and smaller, so it'd go in a "want" category for sure.

I'm sure they'll improve it, I know in IT I wont' do updates "new versions" (I beta tested Windows 95, oh the horrors! released with AT least 16,000 known errors, "let the public debug" YIKES! ) , or buy anything until it's been out a year at least..or it's "bleeding edge" .

but..it was only $31 bucks, if it'd been $80, yeah I'd probably wait,, but I could do without a mani/pedi for the next month (anyone else's nails gone to crap buying vape gear??**LOL**)

This perplexes me, pcrdude. I have some factory 2.5 ohm coils.. and run Kanger clearos exclusively right now. So having the same experience you've had with it would be no fun. Hmm....

Ginny....hello ! I can tell you really love this little device. I think I will too. Just sitting on the fence a bit longer. Anxiously awaiting pbusardos video. I guess he's gonna try and have it out by the end of this week. Love his reviews.

Honestly, if your vaping habits are already in the "normal" power range you'll have no problems with the iStick. The only test for people like you is the life of this thing and for $35 I don't think you need to wait 6 months to find out.

It's us "connoisseurs" of low wattage that are causing all this ruckus. We are an "uppity" bunch we are.

Ta Ta...

This is my new object of obsession....which in my experience means I should wait , but I doubt I am going to do that. I generally make poor choices when it comes to obsessing about things. Hey, I'm an American....I've got 41 years of learned behavior and suggestive advertising to try and keep at bay. It's not easy.

That said...IF I can quiet the imperious urge for this for a while, what are the chances they'll improve the 510 connection wobble in this version...and for those veterans who've been around awhile, any guesses on how long I might have to wait for a version 2 other potential improvements?

I am already convinced this is worth $40...but for $50 in a couple months maybe it will be in the superior category.

One person mentioned a wobbly connector so every istick has this problem? I've used 5 different tanks and NONE had any issues, even a Kayfun that had contact problems on my MVP and V5 worked fine on the istick. I am really enjoying the istick NOW. You can play the waiting game and chase vaporware (HA!) or get your grubby hands on one now like most of us. Seriously, it's a great little device, especially at this price.

I started the Win95 beta with 35 diskettes . They did move to CD's and I had one specially made when I found a fairly major bug. I forgot what the bug was but they sent me an update CD with "KTMRider's Build" which was cool in a nerdy way :D.

I've been looking at the Hana Modz DNA 30 mini clone on FT for a while. I liked that it was smaller than the MVP and the buttons were on the side as well as the screen with all that info. The fact that it was over $50 and from China as well as a bunch of issues made me wait. The istick had none of these issues with people using them for weeks/months. The $36 price tag also helped me decide to try one after only a few hours of research.

so.. without having the time to go through it all since my last like.. whats the best source for shipping and price these days with the iStick?

Ive had very pleasant experiences twice with Vapenw on eBay. Usually only takes 3-4 days to get here. Right now $34.99 with free shipping all colors in stock. Just ordered a third one this morning.

Yes these things do have a tendency to get hijacked, My wife that she was happy with her EMOW setup and didn't anything new. Instead of ordering 1 I went ahead and ordered 2 that way I would have a spare. I am the proud owner of 1 Istick and that wife who said that she was happy with her setup is the proud owner of one too. Go figure. I glad that remember the adage for vaping, always have back ups

Yes, this is what I'm wondering. I think I am in. Just checking google for best deals, but I will gladly pay $1 or $2 to go with trusted vendors. I hate the wondering/ anxious feeling when I have to login to a new website and create an account giving all my personal info. With all the Vape vendors, I am new so I am not sure who all can be trusted.

Thanks!
