Most of my toppers use Kanger bases because I like to keep things simple and consistent. I rebuild my coils. I also have several RDAs I can enjoy at home. But I like simple and it works for ME. I totally agree everyone is entitled to what works for them and just because "you" (generic, no one in particular) like what you do and use does not make it better than what works for me. I try different things and have an open mind (or so I like to think) so whatever works for "your" vaping style is great! As long as it keeps you off killer sticks is best.

I also have a vast array of vaping equipment that run the gammut........that being said, I've been leaning toward the KISS method. An istick (2 of them) with a mini naughty (2 of them) and I'm happy as a pig in mud

I also have ordered isticks from vapenw....one came with a 510 to ego adapter and the other one didn't.....I guess it's just the luck of the draw!

Ya, those kind of people I don't even give the time of day! I agree with everyone, a Nautilus paired with the iStick is a match made in heaven. While I love to hit around 70-80 watts on a mech, 20 leaf watts on the iStick is more than plenty! Even with a dripper running around 1.1-1.6 ohms at 20 watts is oddly to much for me. I can't even seem to keep it saturated for more than a few little pulls. It's crazy how far they are taking the vv/vw mods these days. I was so close to getting a 50+ box mod, but was being patient as I knew newer and better mods were popping up every day at this point in time. So glad I waited! iStick saves the day.....and my wallet!
The iStick talk is kinda dying down now, so I don't feel as bad for continue a thread hijack about rebuilding coils.
I started rebuilding my Kanger single coils about a 2 months ago. It wasn't really a money issue, but I was going through about 3 coils a week. The primary thing for me was that having cotton and rayon wicks allowed me to chain vape more easily. A lot of times I'm in a hurry, and it's nice to be able to take 3-5 quick hits before heading back inside to work. The stock heads would burn after the 2nd or 3rd hit. The difference taste is definitely noticeable, but the flavor on my friend's stock heads isn't bad either.
I think this is a conflict between the hobbyist vapers, and the cigarette alternative vapers. There is A LOT to learn if you choose to learn it. I read about vapes pretty much every day for the past 3 months, and I don't even consider myself an intermediate user yet. Sure there are things that taste better and work better, but they require a time commitment from learning to do it and then actually doing it. Time is money as well, and a lot of people live really busy lives. Some people prefer the convenience of spending a buck or two every few days to a week whenever their coil needs to be replaced and being done with it.
I recently purchased a KFL+ a few weeks back. It's produces an incredible amount of smooth vapor and better flavor, but the upkeep with it is kind of annoying. I have never been able to clear a flood without taking it apart. It's really big and heavy, and I can never tell how much juice I have left because that clear window is partially covered. I've built 4-5 coils on it, and it takes me like 20-30 minutes to take it apart and rebuild it, as opposed to 5 minutes on a protank. Because it produces so much vapor, it burns through juice at a rapid rate. With my protanks I could make a 30ml bottle last over 2 weeks. The KFL killed the whole bottle in less than 5 days, and I was using secondary tanks during this time as well. If I was paying $22 for a premium bottle of juice like many do, it would be costing me a fortune, and the only response I would get from advanced users is "make your own juice." Sorry, not interested in doing that, and never will.
Also, KFL hits harder, so I was initially coughing for a few days after I first got it, and got a sore throat when I was using it a lot. I'm afraid this could be a gateway to further nicotine addiction, because my first day with it I got so dizzy once that I almost threw up. I went back to using my protanks as primary devices, with the KFL as an occasional strong hit.
In conclusion, some people just want an easy to use cigarette substitute, so no need to ever knock someone or push them too hard when they don't need or want to. If they're chewing on a straw to prevent themselves from smoking and it's working for them, let them do it.
Some people eat just to survive and get by with the cheapest food possible like peanut butter sandwiches, and ramen. Some people eat Mcdonalds every day because it's convenient. Some people go to whole paycheck foods and grab an organic filet minion dinner.
Some people drive piece of crap beater cars that get good gas mileage to drive to and from work. Others buy luxury cars with leather interior and V8s that use premium gas.
Like Pbusardo said, as long as it's keeping you off the sticks, it's working good.
This iStick is so popular because it's good enough for your novice user, but also fine for intermediate to advanced users that don't want to carry around their big rigs all the time. The tanks are where many of the posters in this thread are differing. I think 70% of the people are using Kanger/Aspire tanks, while the other 30% are using RBAs and RDAs.

Not at all....I'm figuring on swinging by a couple of B&Ms tomorrow with my iStick, with a IGO-W (single 1.8Ω coil) and fed with my DoD...totally blow their minds.
For me vaping has always been making whatever I had work to provide a good flavor and vapor. Tried the Gummy-Tank route but never felt it worked as easily as my MAP tanks, and CE2....transitioning to my Vivi was easy. Still love my top coils, and don't miss the leaking gravity causes all too often.
Really??? See, we are all so different. I tried every top coil from the ill-fated CE2s to iClears that came with my MVP2s... Never cared for them. Well, the T2 was OK. But I still like a good Boge carto in my cheapo ($4) Boge carto tank...

LOL -- the Boge carto always had a funny taste to me, I've even tried replacing the filler with different substances....fail!
Biggest problem I've seen with all top coils is the long wicks...bad design...a 510 or 901 atty never needed long strings to get liquid to the coil, CE2 or Vivi don't either. Even the iClear that came with my MVP were trimmed very short before their first fill, and they work well at higher wattage, just can't re-build.
Maybe that's why I liked the kanger T2--it had short wicks. Hah!
Nice find. I love the knurling. It isn't as aesthetically pleasing. But, that's trivial compared to how much it helps these old hands get the job done.
Great to carry batteries. But, the iStick is so tiny it doesn't need a case. Well, mine doesn't anyway. But, I'm not using a clearo on it that needs to be protected.
