Lots of my devices have had complaints of all kinds and I have never experienced any. I do have a lot of devices. 
I did this as well. I have changed between Protank Mini 3 and Silo Lite tanks several times a day since I got my iStick and no problems. A little non conductive grease and threads are buttery smooth. I checked my Silo Lite after watching the video and they look perfect as well. No matter my results, it appears for some the threads are slightly off on the iStick or on certain tanks. Might not be an issue for MODS with stronger threads but damages the iSticks threads. Just a thought.
There are a couple things I can think of that may be causing the threading issue. But first things first, rule of machined threads. If you feel the slightest resistance when threading on a tank, BACK IT OFF. It should always be smooth. Check the threads, clean them, lube them.
Number one, maybe your threads in your iStick have some metal flake or something in them from factory machining that is causing the issue. One TINY speck of material in the threads will strip them.
Number two, maybe the old tanks, cartos, drippers, what have you, have worn threads. Worn threading on a new device should always be cautioned. Maybe it threads on your mvp just fine, well that is because they have basically formed to each other.
This all goes back to the first thing I said. If you feel any bit of resistance, STOP and back it out and check/clean your threads, and lube doesn't hurt either although I have never had to go to that extent.

Well you would be wrong then for trying to deal with a device that was obviously defective from the get go. Human error. You chose to deal with a defective product with your own workaround. You chose not to return it.

For all my 510 connector mods I use a 510 - eGo adapter to protect the threads. I've had to replace too many over the years.
This works particularly well if you also use an eGo beauty ring. You can screw in your tank until it just makes contact then unscrew the beauty ring to contact the bottom of the tank. No wobble, good connection, mod threads only get used to screw in the adapter the first time. Connector problem, replace the beauty ring.
I do the same for my MVP which come with a beauty ring, screw in the tank to just make contact and you have adjustment with the ring. Never had to pry up any pins on it, or stuff it with o-rings.
The only 510 threads that I've never had a problem with on any mod or battery is on the original Joyetech 650mah eGc, before using this workaround, go figure.

Tech, is Noalox a non-conductive grease? If not, what is, please?

Noalox is conductive but it is made for aluminum threads for anti-seizing. A very tiny daub of VG will work, connectivity isn't that big an issue, the threads will make metal to metal connection squeezing out any lube.
Dielectric grease can be purchased at any automotive store. I use it a lot on every connection on my motorcycle. Just a tiny bit will do on the threads. Works great also on any electrical connections exposed to weather.

My Istick came in the same box with the adapter but no cable. I have tons of cable so it doesn't bother me. I'm currently using a 1.8a Blackberry charger to charge my Istick every night and no issues. I've checked an hour into a charge and it was barely warm. My connector is perfectly straight.
