so we are basically stuck with a device that delivers around 1 volt higher than it shows on the screen...at least until someone rips one apart and figures out a way to correct the pulse width modulation?

right now i find that my 2ohm (read as 1.9ohm) cartomizers burn liquid far too easily. Would i benefit from picking up 3ohm carts instead?

Possibly. Higher resistance carto may work fine--it's my understanding that the iStick's lowest offering is 4.2 volts--are you comfortable with that? You can also use any dual-coil cartomizer or clearomizer.

Or wait for version 2--I have a feeling that this issue may be addressed.

But then it may not.

Yes, those would work fine. I too have toppers that burn my wick with the istick and have had to readjust.

@Aznnp- I did the repair with an old o-ring from an ego battery. It works just fine, but going to get the #60's for the other 2 iSticks as these old ones are pretty worn out. I haven't used an ego in over a year so they've seen better days.

Good to hear that the fix worked for you. I'm not the creator of the fix, nor am I even one of the first to do it, but glad the fix is somewhat universal.

Well, I tried again. Got the oring on the pin, but...

Any kind souls out there willing/able to do a repair for me. I'd pay for shipping both ways. Put a price for your time and let me know.

Otherwise, anybody interested in a month old fixer-upper?

*sigh*

Sent from my SCH-S968C

Oh my. How did that happen? You don't have to talk about it if you don't want. The pin was only supposed to be moved like half a cm to right around the edge of the 510 threading. Just enough to be able to fit half the O-Ring onto the pin, then to pull from the other side. I saw the exposed wire when I did mine, but it wasn't in any danger of getting pulled out. If that friendly user is kind enough to fix that for you that would be wonderful. Unfortunately, I have no idea about the internals of mods, so I can't offer any more help at this point.

I lifted it yesterday and saw the wire. Must have damaged the connection so wehn I lifted it tonight it was already pretty dangly feeling and I saw it was not attached anymore.

But I'm sending it off to the very gracious KTMRider so hopefully it will be up and running again soon.

I'm down to the 1 iStick until the other is returned to me. Hopefully my charger and battery will arrive very soon, so I can console myself by playing with my new Segilei Vmax V3.

The idea of having no backups is kindo unnerving. Wouldn't want to need to dust off the EVOD's that are hanging out in the drawer. They became wholly unsatisfying after the iStick.

All packed up and ready for the post office. I owe you, big time KTMRider!

Cool, I'll be waiting for it. :)

Yea, keep us updated KTM. I would like to know about upgrading to a spring loaded 510 so I don't have to keep jackin up this pin!

I'll definitely post pics. It'd be nice if I could fit the VariTube 510 in there but from the pics I've seen online, it doesn't look like there's enough space. I noticed the problem with an Erlk with a short pin and I'd have to pry it up every time I switched tanks. My MVP2 has the same problem with the center pin. I've installed the o-ring on my MVP2 and it's helped but it's a bandaid fix and I don't like doing things half-assed. I've seen a few guys replace it on the MVP2 so I ordered a few 14mm and 22mm. I have a Hana clone coming so the 22mm was for that but the 14mm's were for the MVP and Istick.

It's funny because I was actually looking at pics of the Istick internals to see if it was possible to fit the 510 connector when Emmsma posted her problem. Soldering the wire back on should be easy. Fitting the 510 connector might be more of a project and wouldn't want to damage his/her Istick trying. I was going to try on mine after I got my VS rDNA 40 and the Hana Clone so I have multiple back ups in case things go south .

The wires are pretty small so I don't think it was anything you did. The wire could've been nicked when stripping the plastic off.

I'll get it back to you as soon as I can. Since getting the Istick, I'd really hate to go to my back ups (V5 and MVP2) if it ever failed. If I didn't have the rDNA 40 and Hana clone coming, I'd probably get another one. Still might.

I'd thought about getting a third iStick, but I think I'll be waiting for V2. :)

Yeah, there's that but I don't see them releasing it any time soon. Also the next MVP is supposed to have an Evolv 25w chip (temp control?) and a few other models they were hinting at. I wanted to get one good DNA 40 device and settled on the VS rDNA 40. The wait is killing me so I ordered the Hana clone thinking if it dies, I'll install a DNA 40 board in there. It was only a few bucks more than an Istick and I don't have a Hana clone. It seems like they sorted out the programming issues so if there's any mechanical issue, I have a big hammer (j/k! :D).

Patience, grasshopper. :D

Innokin Announce MVP 3.0 – Vape Mile

There will be more than one edition. One will be at a lower price point that will be at least 30W as well as an advanced edition that will run a customized Evolv chipset with precise higher wattage and feature new advances in technology which take it above and beyond the competition.

We have worked closely with Brandon and John and the Evolv edition will have a customized chip and feature innovative top of the line vaping technology.

DNA 30???? ANd DNA 40 with temperature regulations? ;)

Kanger and Aspire are working on nickel coils as we speak.

You got me excited for a minute. I saw that last month. :p

The Istick definitely helped me be patient with the new devices coming out. Almost. I already have 100' of Ni200 wire .

So you're just waiting for a DNA 40 board?

I knew I was going to get a DNA 40 device, just not which one until a couple of weeks ago. By then, I thought it was too late to pre-order so I have one reserved at a local VS shop for the rDNA 40. I'm first on the list :D. I ordered the Ni200 wire after I called the shop and reserved one. They started shipping this week but it looks like the shop won't get any until next week. I did play with the idea of getting a Protovapor and Hana but I really liked the size of the rDNA.

I do this a lot. I also order parts for motorcycles and cars I don't have yet but know I'm buying.
