On other thing to try first if it's still tasting good.... take out the coil and stick some paper towel into the bottom (where the coil goes) don't know if it's because I over fill sometimes or what..but usually surprised at how much juice is down in there, put coil back, reassemble and vape away...

If you clean that area with a Q-Tip, you may be amazed by how black the tip of the Q-Tip becomes. Gunks up down there.

Old school KR808 vaper here. Have used these cartos on the original GLV, then on my own made up clone and finally, on a Hana clone for about the last year. The big thing for me is the strong/hot taste (like a cigarette). Just got one of these red ones for my wife for Christmas and, well, of course, had to try it out. Size is amazing and stealthy. It worked with a cartomizer that was apparently too high for the Hana. I agree with what I've seen here that the displayed voltage may be off but as others have said, you just adjust it too your liking. My question to those who got these right away, about 2 months ago, how are they holding up? I like everything about it after 10 minutes but it certainly doesn't feel as substantial as my Hana clone. At half the price I don't expect it to but do you think it will last a year or 6 months?

I've had mine for about 5-6 weeks. The only issue is the 510 connector. I have different tanks that have at least 1mm difference so I have to pry up the center pin when I swap. I try to keep the same tank on it now. I have a broken Istick inbound to try to replace the 510 connector with a VT 510 with a spring loaded center pin. I'll post pics if/when I do it sometime next week.

Wow. I am shocked to read this because I love the vape I get from Istick topped with a Protank. I too rebuild mine and most are 1.6. I use KGD. I roll at 5.8-6.0 watts and never taste burnt. Anything above 6.5W I start to. I really like it with my Taifun (built at 1.5-1.8) but it is so top heavy that I go with Protank.
I have not tried the Nautilus because I am so happy with the Protank.
My daughter tried it last night and begged me for one for Christmas. She runs rebuilt protanks too

I've been using mine with KF's with clear tanks and the balance isn't that bad. I tried a KFL+ v2 in nano mode and it was nice but didn't hold enough juice for me.

Thank you for the reassurances, folks. Not too worried about the threads since I/we use a 510/808 adapter. The buttons were a bit less stiff (flimsy?) than the Hana clone though. That's what made me ask. I'll get one for myself real quick. And she's gonna love the red/pink.

The buttons on mine are holding up fine.

The only odd thing I have found is that, about once a day, I get a dead hit. ie, it doesn't fire when you press the button. Just once, then it's fine. I think it's something in the board calculating, but that's just my guess. Several people noticed it when they first came out, but I think we're all used to it. I haven't heard it mentioned in a while.

It's a mechanical issue with the button. There's a tiny clicker type metal disk to close the circuit and it can move around inside the button that will not complete the circuit so it doesn't fire.

I've also run the iStick up and down several times and it sometimes will correct the issue...sometimes not. I too think that there are some of these that are having strange power surges. In any event, I went ahead and ordered the VS DNA30 last night. I realize that it doesn't do step down, but at least it is reliable in hitting its stated voltages.

I'm waiting on a rDNA 40. I was thinking of getting the DNA 30 since it's the same size but less battery capacity. I called the VS shop and they sold the last DNA 30 the day before so I didn't get one (didn't want to order it). It is a lipo battery so it last a bit longer than you would think (lipo's keep higher voltages better than LiIon).

The black stuff is the threads wearing down. Definitely keep the threads on the Istick and your atomizer clean and it should last a bit longer.

Knowing what I know now, I would have skipped the iStick and gone straight for the DNA 30. The deciding factors for me in choosing the DNA 30 over the rDNA 40 were size and price. I am also not interested in making coils with nickel and I don't have any fear of soldering a new LiPo myself when the time comes. I may pick up the rDNA 40 down the road though. The product cycles for e-cigs are getting so quick that I can't wait to see what comes down the pike over the next 6 months.

I love mine, fill daily, operates great with a mini nautilus with a 1.8 ohm coil at 10 to 15 watts, depending on the liquid used.

I see that you are using the Hollowed replacement tube. You might be interested to know that you can get the Nautilus Mini base separately and make fully functional tanks with those glass tanks if you aren't using them. I did just that with the base I bought from evape.us.

I still love the Istick, even with all its warts. The only real issue I have is the 510 connector.

That said, I'm looking forward to the rDNA 40. I might even pick up a DNA 30 too but I have a Hana clone inbound to mess with. And you're right about new stuff coming out so quickly. Innokin is supposed to come out with some new stuff with Evolv chips before xmas.

While I'm impatiently waiting for the rDNA and Hana clone, I've already taken out the 510 on my MVP2. I ordered a m10 x .5 tap that I didn't realize should work for the MVP2 so it's almost in pieces right now. I also have a broken Istick coming to experiment on (thanks again LadyPharaoh!). I also ordered a few more VT 510 connectors last night. Geez, I have about 7-8 vape related packages I'm waiting for. Need to resist the urge to order more stuff

Thanks for the info, will have to get a couple bases.

I don't have an issue with the 510 connection, the nautilus has a spring loaded pin, so it sits flush on top.

The question of the century, indyxlt..... or should I say the question of the 6-12 months. I would LIKE to see them last that long, but I know damm well if they don't, I will just get more of them. Perhaps they'll be a V2 soon(ish).

I don't know, maybe I'm just lucky or naive, but I have 2 isticks that I have been vaping almost exclusively for 6+ weeks (I got them the first week that they came out in the U.S.), and have had no problems with them. I use tanks that need to be filled daily (bottom fill), I don't have an extra afc or 510 adapter to protect the threads, and I charge them usually when the power is just below half. Both are still firing and threading the way they did the first day that I received them. If things hold true, I anticipate a good year from these suckers!!!

This is inspiring, poke.

And hi back atcha, Katchaya. You think "Brandon" and you think me? I LIKE IT! :D

The Nautilus Mini is the natural fit for the iStick...I'd love it if my iStick performed better. It does look great and seems to be the perfect tank for it. Here is the direct link to that base: Electronic Cigarette - Best Electronic Cigarette - Vapor Cigarette Buy the Best Nautilus Mini Base Hardware from www.evape.us It is the only place I could find it besides the Aspire store...but their combined price and shipping makes it less attractive than evape's.

Well, I have no choice but to turn both of my isticks into the authorities. I've been harboring 2 fugitives, hoping that they weren't guilty....but I've also just recently starting getting the burnt hits as well. I thought it might be my new batch of BVC coils, but the problem seems to be random. It'll be burnt, and then sort of go away on it's own. I adjust the wattage down a bit, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

There definitely appears to be a heat flux of some sort. Not the end of the world, but disappointing. I also didn't notice this in the beginning; maybe even the first almost 6 weeks I've had them. But this week it is really noticeable. Anyone have a good fix for this? I must have missed the "up and down" thing mentioned earlier.

Mine started off doing this after about 4 days of use. I was initially very happy with the product...now I'm just disappointed. I am also noticing that I'm getting rattlesnake...I didn't notice it until about 3 days ago.

I actually discovered the source of my extremely burnt vapes - I changed clearo's and voila' - perfect vapes now. I think I must have had a bad coil in the other clearo, as I put a new one in when I got the istick. I've had one other time that a coil just seemed to be on "high" all the time until it burnt itself out. This one is still going strong, but thankfully, changing the clearo has made ALL the difference for me. Whew!

The only thing I can think of is the finish on the threads are wearing off and not making a good connection. The black residue others were talking about and what I noticed might have something to do with that. Or it's building up preventing a solid connection. Maybe try cleaning the threads with acetone and a q-tip?

I just check when I got mine. 10/6 so I'm going into my 6th week and I've had no issues like that. I'm also using KF's with 1.5Ω-1.7Ω builds.

So im considering picking up an istick for my g/f after her T8 i got her just last week wont turn on. Hindsight i regret buying her and myself a cloupor t8 just cause she only uses a kayfun and doesnt need something soo beefy.

How long is the battery life on a .85ohm coil running at 19-20watts?

You can't sub-ohm on an Istick. 1Ω min.
