That coil looks a lot like the egrip coil...
I haven't ordered from them in years. How long does their shipping take?

Bingo. That is no doubt the eGrip coil.

That's actually good (for me anyway). I've got 15 of those coils already. :p
They won't go to waste when the eGrip rba finally becomes available.

I keep hearing this and I can't wrap my head around it. Neither my iSticks (2) nor my eGrips (3) have any issues with being too hot regardless of charge status. Certainly not at their lowest settings, which is what I typically run them at. So all things equal, it leads me to suspect that it must be the liquids. I mix my own by buying pure PG from amazon (32 Oz):

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005PZBRUC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

to which I add MBV menthol/nic base (236 ml, PG/VG 80/20, 24mg, +3 flavor shots):

Menthol Electronic Cigarette Flavoring - Mt Baker Vapor

This produces a very nice all-day vape, which I occasionally supplement with drops of LorAnn flavor concentrates:

http://www.amazon.com/LorAnn-Candy-...sim_hpc_5?ie=UTF8&refRID=0V6VR2J2VA57NX0MPQWP

This mix is really easy to do and lasts me about a year (@2x).

Hey gerrymi--how long did it take to get your FastTech order?

Since I have received every order I've made at FastTech (10?, 15?)...I don't waste my time "tracking" a shipment.

I figure...when I open my mailbox and it's there...it's arrived.

My "best guess" (with their standard shipping)...2 weeks.

I agree. I think the VG liquids vary so much in viscosity that few liquids wick the same. Nor do atomizers.
I usually use straight PG with minimal to no flavorings.
I recently bought some WTA liquids and out of 6 bottles, no 2 were the same viscosity.
I finally got a batch wicking good today but it has been a PITA.

Thanks for the PG link.

Good to hear. I did my first order ever with them....ordered like 25 drip tips for 20 bucks (I just want to find the perfect one) and it did feel a bit shady. Had to call me bank for them to approve etc. I've heard good things otherwise too though. So yeah, I'm just gonna forget about it and be surprised one day.

I can't hear anything else from the iStick, just that high pitched electrical buzz when I hit the button. I didn't drop it so I don't think that something is loosen or anything like that. Even the buttons do not rattle at all.

So I guess that this is the cause.

That's unfortunate while not anything to be particularly worried about it would seem. Despite swapping various tanks around to try out on one or the other iStick here I've never run into either rattle or electrical humming type sounds. Certain tanks apparently have some impedence issues.

Are there any 20-22mm clearos? Thought I'd ask since different clearomizers are discussed here.

The Nautilus is about 19mm the same width as the Vamo V6 which fits down into a 19mm on the mod stand here. That's a 5ml capacity tank if you looking for something larger and vapes like a champ. That has been the first tank over 4ml I found favorable for the typical 3-15w mod or APV since first trying the Smok GBC 4ml and HBC 5ml tanks still ending up preferring that brand's Tumbler tank for VV/VW batteries and mods.

;)

The subject has been debated here for years...

Well not everybody that vapes will understand electronics theory too well. As an E Tech I immediately recognized the term and thought to myself that would also account for some odd occurances. A good simplified explanation however is what people will need to see in order to grasp just what PWM is. Pulse Width Modulation - What is it? - Electronic Circuits and Diagram-Electronics Projects and Design

Well let's hope it stays that way for you! One thing I find to caution about however is while some of these problems may not have come from any "bumps in the night" so to speak from a drop on the floor or being bumped somehow but forgetting to turn the iStick off before removing a tank to refill or swap for another. You could inadvertently arc the tank when just starting to take it off and hit the button. That could strain a little.

Other causes of course would simply be from mass production off of the assembly line and not quite up to par with better made units. But I think in your case there it was likely time to swap coils in the tank you had on that would seem hot as far as taste wise. The coil then would need to be soaked in denture cleaner as someone suggested in conversation or replace or even rewick the coil. That works sometimes with Smok coils I use for Tumbler tanks here if you get the twisted replacement cotton just right to match the original resistance.

This might seem like a really stupid question…but how accurate is that little battery indicator on everyone's iStick?

I bought mine on Friday night, and overall I'm pretty pleased with it. Out of the box, it looked like the battery was about 3/4 full (according to the little battery icon on the screen) so I vaped it for most of that night that I bought it, and a little in the morning, then used the passthrough some the next day while I worked on my laptop. Didn't really pay much attention, used it on and off all last night, woke up this morning and noticed that the battery icon looked low. The icon wasn't flashing, and it did not tell me it was time to charge, but the battery level looked like it was low, as in if that was the battery read on my phone I would go ahead and plug it in to charge. So I used it with the pass through while I was talking on the phone for a couple of hours, and while I know it was charging, the battery icon had not filled all the way up. When I unhooked it from the charger earlier, the battery icon looked like it did when I opened the box, which I had assumed was a partial charge. I took a couple of puffs off it, and I could literally see the battery icon drop a bar…which made it appear half full. It went back up after a few minutes of not using it, which I thought was a little odd.

I am using an Orchid tank, 1.1 ohm coil, and right now I am vaping at 9.8w. I am still a relative newbie. I have to be out all day tomorrow, and I don't want the battery to die on me mid day. Am I doing something wrong with my coil and wattage setting that is super draining the battery? Is the little icon just not an accurate representation of how much life the battery has left? I have the iStick plugged into my laptop right now, occasionally vaping but not a lot, it has been charging for about two hours, and the battery icon is STILL not showing full. I keep hearing people talking about getting a full day or more out of the iStick, so I'm thinking either I'm not doing something right, the battery icon is just a suggestion, or I have a bad battery.

Has anyone tried out the bending adapter yet? I see that there are some floating around on ebay and I'm probably gonna pick one up. When I first came around this I was like "what's the point of this?" but after I looked at it more closely, it seems like a pretty sweet idea. The main thing I want to know is how flexible/movable that 180 degree flap that holds you atomizer is. My fear is that if it's on the too loose there could be a chance that you accidentally press the release button and your atomizer comes slamming down on the front of your battery. I'm sure it'll be fine, everything by eleaf is good quality.

It was suggested earlier in the thread to get the most out of your battery to let it drain fully and turn off to charge. I think most are using a wall wart to charge, rather than through a computer. With a 1 amp charger you should have a full charge in a couple hours.

Not ever having charged it fully, its hard to say how much time you will get out of it with the way you vape. I have 2 iSticks, so when one is charging, I switch to the other. I can get a little more than 2 days out of it when running at 7-8 watts. A day and a half if I'm at 11.

1. The Orchid is a dual coil, so it drains the battery quicker.
2. For best results, always charge using a wall adapter.
3. The battery icon will flash when the battery gets low; LOCK will appear when it's drained and needs charging.
4. Always use a wall adapter for best results.
5. once the charge is complete, the battery icon will disappear and you then know you have a full charge.
6. for best results, use a wall adapter.

My iStick charges quickly, but I've never let it get to the flashing icon, let alone the LOCK screen. I just plug it in the wall when I go to bed or before work. When running my Orchid V4 and chain-vaping, the iStick gets a bit warm and the battery drains more quickly than when I run my single coil Kayfuns.

I hope that helps.

The bending adapters are fantastic. The joint is stiff and the arc stops parallel with the base/top of the iStick. It might loosen with use, but only time will tell. The spring-loaded 510 safeguards against damaging the actual 510 of the iStick, as well as the original threads. Discount Vapers has these for $4.99. I purchased mine directly from Eleaf during their Black Friday sale.

My iStick did not come with a wall adapter, just a USB cable. The only USB wall adapter I have is the one for my iphone 4. Is that safe to use, or should I buy some kind of different one?

The one that came with my full kit has a 5 volt/1000 ma output. If your's is similar, use it. I've used a 5 volt/500 ma charger and it worked fine.

I have the bending adapter. I used for the first day and now it sits on my nightstand. I only use a mini nautilus, and refill it by unscrewing the glass tank only. Therefore the mini's base stays on the istck so I don't have to worry about messing up the 510 connection. Also the adapter didn't fold a complete 180' so I just took it off.......Some folks say they like. just my:2c:

With both of the iSticks here I can answer both postets's questions in one shot as well as advise on waiting to run off the factory precharge first before simply rushing to charge it up from the level it comes in with. Here I ran both down right to the bottom to give them both a full charge as part of the initial inspection to insure I didn't a bad one with either.

As for the battery level indictor on the display that has been quite accurate so far. I have one in daily use while another sitting in a pocket for a quick grab while elsewhere away from either mod stand since one is left next to one. The Bending Adapter or folding bracket as I call it makes it possible to have a small tank attached and folded in order to carry it on you without worry about seeing the tank torn off or the connector pulled off of the battery itself like I saw one on a small 650mah eGo battery a year ago! That one never did recover any!

EGO BROKEN BATTERY.jpg

I had a 1.6ml top coiled long wick type clearomizer bent over while simply walking around the house with it in my pocket. On inspection the two lead wires snapped right off! With the folding bracket however I can simply stick the stick with tank in the watch/coin pocket or small coat pocket without worry!
