The covers are nice, but I gotta say, the texture on these are nice as- is-IMO. Not rubbery like a Joye ego, but not at all slippy.

    The black ones anyway.

Here's hopin they fixed the threads at least on the mini............RMS would b a nice bonus

( adding the mini to this thread is going to make it explode- even moreso, lol.)

I'm thinking they did no more than make it smaller. It's still the small MEANS Istick.

I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to mislead anyone, I just saw this over the weekend, thought it was an amazing deal and posted the link without paying attention to whether it was in or out of stock!

Rokuten is a newer, smaller Alibaba. They bought out the original Buy.com company a few years ago. From what I understand, most of the vape gear on there is from so called "marketplace sellers" a la Amazon, EBay, even Best Buy , Sears, and Walmart are doing that online these days. These are sellers they have absolutely no control over. A big hint for me was all of it is under the category of smoking cessation which while true in anecdotal terms is not valid In current US legal terms, so in short, I don't think they have any input at all over what's delivered or not unless someone complains.

Most of these places including newegg which also carries some starter kits will have the option for the shopping site itself or whoever else sells through them. That was how I was able to track down the vendor who had the best deal going on the Nautilus tanks. The returns and other things go through the shopping site when sold by them while the rest is between you and the seller in most cases. Generally the seller will work with you a bit faster when the shopping site is set up similarly to how EBay's policies work once you have contacted the seller.

Check it again. They appear in stock now.

I'm not surprised to hear that at all since the iStick as well as accessories are flying off of the vendor shelves since all this is still brand new. Once the holidays are over however I think you will start to see things slow down quite a bit since all the deals will be over.

Oh lord why would you wanna do that?
Seriously though, you can chop it up if you so desire but f you must expose the fire button I'd suggest using a razor blade or exacto - something small cause the square is not big at all. A knife may destroy the case completely.

According to Sweet-Vapes they have them in stock now. Eleaf iStick Leather Case. Price is $9.95 though. I bought 2 for that price when Discount Vapers initially got them in stock. If you don't feel like waiting at least Sweet-Vapes has them.

NASTY IDEA! Generally when you hack something up you end up ruining it in some fashion and end up defeating the purpose. I put one iStick in the MVP/VTR belt holster to see if how that would or wouldn't and the answer was wouldn't work as a substitute while I did make some other interesting observations in the process of seeing what else besides the Eleaf accessory there could work.

Now remember some don't like the Nautilus Mini either complaining about taste or capacity. I added that into the equation when sizing things up a bit. The first is what else is commonly seen in use for carrying even Vamos without tanks attached or other small items.

    COMPACT MOD 1.jpg

While that's all nice and roomy for one iStick as well as the 510/ego adapter and beauty ring for the medium not large eGo carrying case. Then I wanted to see about carrying both iSticks at the same time and ...

    COMPACT MOD 2 Reduced.jpg

Gee nice and snug fit with both having tanks on them as you would expect on a longer eGo type battery. The next thing of course was in regards to the comparison of tanks as far as how well they fold over with the Bending Adapter as well as what offers the largest capacity in a small size. Note of course some tank coils won't nandle the full 20w the mod puts out.

    COMPACT MOD 3.jpg

That was the Smok Tumbler shown previously on the right with the Nautilus Mini even still not able to fold down as far. Capacity Mini vs Tumbler equaled 2ml for Mini versus 3+ml you can get into a Tumbler. Disadvantage of Tumbler max 10-12w with 2ohm Smok coil in use. Unsure about how much 2.4ohm or 1.8ohm coils will handle since those were never intended for higher wattages.

And lastly the tumbler now on the left is place up against the full size 5ml Nautilus that has been run upwards of 35w on otther APVs but a bit awkward for carrying around in the small watch/coin pocket while out on the go. At 10w however the Tumbler would be just the right size for the iStick Mini however since the max on that is 10w when giving that some food for thought. At 7w-10w the Tumblers have an excellent flavor and vapor output as seen on other lower powered Vamo and VV/VW batteries.

    COMPACT MOD 4.jpg

For the Nautilus Mini tanks I like the stainless replacements while the full size lacks the view slot for seeing how much is left in the larger tank! That was is one disappointment seen with Aspire there. So far no bad taste detected from the Mini tank either suggesting if the wattage is up too far with some flavors you will get a hot burnt metal type taste since the flavor is best off left at a reduced output. I run into this with various flavors by just one vendor where I can push 40-50w with some and others not much more then 20w!

There seems to be some mixed reviews on this pv. I am thinking of getting one as a 2nd mod just in case my main mod the hana is out of battery or i left it at home etc etc. How would you guys rate this compared to the hana? I know its really different from dna mods. Maybe some insights? Planning to get one from fasttech.

I'm not the one whose interested in cutting it up- the person I responded to was.

I am well aware of that and was simply pointing out that trying to carve it up is not what Eleaf had in mind. The case is simply for carrying not using when out and around. A lanyard is the usual advice for hanging around your neck as you would an eGo battery for a quick grab and vape. The case is simply to provide something to carry it in as well as offer protection in case it gets dropped.

For the MVP or VTR on the other hand my beef is with Innokin over how flimsy the retaining loop is. When putting their holster on your belt you slip the strap with the locking snap through a leather loop which is there to keep it from slipping off of your belt if the snap comes undone. The loop tore too easily when the cell phone case also on the belt one day was found pressed up against it not too hard even and that immediately tore! I now have to find a heavier piece of leather to make up a new loop in order to use the holster or with the iStick do I? Since the iStick has a 2200mah battery in it all I need is the Innokin 10ml U Can to refill the tank on the iStick!

I dropped my new Blue iStick on the pavement last night at work with a KFL clone attached. Not a scratch on it, and the KFL clone stayed in one piece as well. **Whew!** The Bending Adapter kept the KFL clone nice and snug. The iStick never lost a beat and it vaped the minute I picked it up.

    +1

I bet the minute it left your hands your heart proceeded to stop & everything after seemed in slow mo. LOL!!!
That's how I was the first time I dropped my ProVari.....I was like nooooooooooo as I was diving to the ground before it did.

Have at it. The far majority of posters here love their iStick(s). Some have one of each color. As long as you know what you're getting, it's a great little mod; emphasis on LITTLE. It's the form-factor that makes it awesome, along with the battery life.

The biggest difference between the iStick and the DNA 20-type devices:
    The iStick won't sub-ohm.
It's tuned to mean (average) voltage rather than RMS.
    It's limited to 4.5 amps & 5.5 volts. Meaning it only fires close to 20w @ 1.4-1.6Ω.

For $30, go for it, especially if you don't already have a back-up for that Hana clone!

he-he. It's not the first mod I dropped. I fretted more when I dropped my Stingray X clone and KFL+ in the same parking lot this past summer. That time, the KFL clone's top cap popped off and I spent 10 minutes trying to salvage it before all of the liquid ran out since I hadn't a back-up atty with me.

I now carry a spare cigalike with me in case of emergencies ;)

People are going to do with their case what they want to do with their case.
Sorry, I never wore an Ego/lanyard around my neck. I've only recently worn this one out the house- generally I stick the whole thing in a pocket.

It's certainly their onw choice to do what they want with it! I think what was being advised earlier about using a sharp razor blade or other utility cutter was to be a bit more precise so only just what is necessary is cut. That avoids making a mess. For me it would still be a bit awkward trying to use it while it was still in the case however while I won't even be needing one. The photos posted show how easy it is to store the spare while I simply keep the other in a pocket while at the same time is only an extra mod this year as it turns out.

I'm thinking the Istick Mini uses the same electronics as the iJust D16 Looks like same display, and same 10 watts, just repacked, and a different battery. Are a few reviews of that around, the one linked below is a bit more technical and gets deeper into the operation, problem is it is in what I believe is German, anyone speak German, and can give us a rough translation? That is if it is German. The English reviews are just seat of the pants experience, at least the few I've found.

For whoever was asking about the case, yes, it works fine in the case. I have one.
I at first considered cutting the buttons out, but haven't found it to be necessary.
I don't use a lanyard. I have to find a wrist strap around here. I'm also thinking of a belt/pocket clip that I could attach to the support strap on the back of it....

Which means it will fire higher than 10 watts! :D

    alden,

The difference between mean/avg and RMS calibration is greatest at the low end of the PWM duty cycle. As the voltage setting is increased, the difference diminishes, and at the highest voltage/wattage setting, mean and RMS become identical, since the PWM no longer pulses at all and turns into a flat-line steady voltage, same as RMS. So no, the iStick Mini won't provide more than 10 watts, just like the regular iStick won't do more than 20 watts.

But then, you probably knew that. I just offer it in case someone is considering buying an iStick Mini under the mistaken assumption that it will do 12-13 watts RMS. It won't.

Well that solves that fast! No need to hack the case up any just to be able to use it while it's in the case. Hopefully you remember to turn it off when not in use however since that means it can fired just by being leaned up against something or resting on it's side if something is sticking up just enough to press in on the button. I find that with cell phone cases where the magnetic lid will fold in just enough to hit a few buttons and find it in one of the menu options!
