The I stick looks good and is priced well. My Itaste v2.0 still works so Im not in the market.

I can only answer this by explaining crazy people like myself who go through life constantly asking the questions: "Why?" and "How?". I often have to refrain from teaching someone how to build a watch when I'm asked what the time is.

I use an aerotank on mine with good results, but I rebuild my own coils in it, I don't know how the stock coils will do
I got an Aerotank EMOW mega when I picked up my 'stick. Stock coils work just fine... rebuilt to BVC works even better!
Whether RMS or other is actually not any real concern unless you are an electronics design engineer working something out. The manufacturer wanted a 20w mod in a compact size and told someone to make it happen! It didn't matter to the company how the sine wave looked on a scope but that it worked as a 20w compact mod. This is what the company wanted to market.
The one and only problem seen so far is just that with an additional item running into a small problem I was able to fix. If you are familiar with flints that go into a Zippo type lighter I found an old spring laying around and simply snipped a small piece off of that and stuffed it sideways where the clasp presses up against that until i can find a more suitable compression spring that will suit the purpose. I just have to use a small paper clip to press in on the clasp when wanting to fold the tank over since the tension was increased but the Bending Adapter is still in use.
You don't need to be an engineer to be annoyed by mean- just try using a tank and burning your wick because the mean makes the voltage jump too high.
We expect reliability in a product, not lies. The iStick is a great device- IF you know what your getting in to. I use drippers so it was never a problem for me,but it's still good to know why my hits are scratchy.

Good to hear you found a solution to that adapter problem. Breaking after such short use is really a bummer.
I've had mine since Sept and haven't burned a wick or juice yet. I really like the mean mode. I even changed my Vamo5 to mean but it still doesn't compare to the istick.
I should add that I vape 75-90% pg. I don't think that burns as easy as the thicker stuff.

Well that's the thing you touched on there! Most people simply want "reliability" in what they buy. With the iStick and now the competition we just start seeing stuff that is even better come out of all of it as each company tries to top the others. We're sure to see a much larger variety.
At first it was a bit of let down since I only had the adapters for a couple of weeks with only one on me during that time frame. Before I could even find a way to get the spring back in place since I had noticed the slight depression in the two locations by examining how the other spring it bounced out somewhere. So I decided to look into fixing it by looking into better solution with the temp fix that seems to be working out except making the clasp tighter then intended.
I have both the Vamo V5 and V6 I just got into just before seeing the iSticks and not constantly using them I find myself using the other newer APVs consistently. But that's typical here anyways since I might 2 or 3 batteries and mods going at once. Since the iSticks were bought for on the go usage I tend to run the eGo-V V/W batteries while keeping the Vamo Fire/ZNA 50 at the desktop or Smok BEC Pro going while catching a few shows or a movie that had to be kept in another stand. Plus I now as of late have a pair of SMOK epipes!
I agree, Burnie. I was running my MVP 2.0 right at 11w all day every day I have discovered with the iStick that I can get the same quality vapor and taste on a much lower wattage setting between 6.5 and 7.5w. I start out lower when the battery is fresh, and just occasionally have to adjust up as the battery drains or to find the "sweet spot" of different juices. I feel like the feature of the iStick that many people are freaking out about or don't like allows me to save my battery life! I like it so much that it is my current go-to setup, I bought two more so that I can always have a fully charged backup to swap out, and I'm super pleased to have a cheap, easy to use, compact setup that runs for days the way I vape. That is all I was ever looking for, cheap, decently made, compact and gets the job done.
Here when not in use I take both of the iSticks with tanks still on and stash them in a medium size eGo carrying case which is just the right side to place both side by side. Other then that I'll leave one out in case I decide to run an errand for a quick grab and vape!
Does anyone have any ideas whether Eleaf will be making the top cap available to replace?
Seems like that would be a really easy replacement process for those who have had the stripped out threads.

What a brilliant idea. Eleaf would just have to make a SS version of the top cap available with a spring-loaded center pin.
It would require unsoldering & soldering and a bit of fiddling. I would think this would leave a far majority of the iStick's demographics out of the process/upgrade. I can't believe that Eleaf will do this for a product they make for $3-4 and sell for $7-8.
Still a brilliant idea. Maybe a third party will design & sell a replacement top cap.

That's actually false..... Even though the battery life is good, if rms was used and nothing else changed the battery life would be better

A top cap was already designed by one of our members. I have 2 of them, one in use. It's laser cut from acrylic and works great. It's posted in this thread and over in the modding forum.
I also have cut a new top cap for my first iStick (now dead). I'm simply waiting for a new chipset to transplant. I may just cut another top cap for my new iStick. My design is half the height of the one you refer to. It was just my preference.
