So far i am loving this little guy, even if my bending adapter is taking a tour of Massachusetts...lol

Only one gripe so far:
My fire button is noisy as in loose and it rattles. I don't wanna pull it apart yet but is there anything i can do to make it less rattly?
I can't help you on the rattle, but I'm just really surprised I'm hearing more and more people are having this problem because mine is still as tight as a drum!

The sad part is , its like 2 days old and rattled out of the box... but works totally fine otherwise.
Currently running at 6.8w (3.5V on screen so really 4.49v) with nautilus full size and 1.8 ohm BVC coil with BRV colonels custard and its great.
I wanna go higher but i don't know what these coils can take and if its worth it...lol

I'm running a hot cinnamon on a Nautilus full size, 1.8 BVC @ 8.0W/3.6 V for a week now. The coil is just fine. Took a day in minor adjustments to get it there but there is no burnt taste.

You're running that BVC around 11W. It's good to 15W. You can start inching the settings up until you sense a drop-off in flavor and back off 1W.

The biggest offender of rattling in the iStick is the main fire button. There are two layers of thin acrylic covering the display opening and surrounding the buttons:

iStick-Display Window and Button Holes.jpg

The bottom layer is clear and one piece. It slides into the enclosure from either end.
The second layer is tinted and in two pieces; one below the firing button and a much smaller piece above. It is held to the clear layer with double-sided tape.

iStick-Panel Cover_01.jpg iStick-Panel Cover_02.jpg

The buttons are surrounded by the clear layer. The tinted layer dresses things up nicely and captures lips on the buttons, preventing them from falling out. It also limits side-to-side (lateral) movement of the buttons. Too much lateral movement and the buttons rattle.

You can try gently prying up the little tinted piece and reattaching closer to the fire button (we're probably talking .5-1mm here). This should help further limit the lateral movement of the fire button and quiet the rattling significantly. I have not been able to rid my iSticks of the rattling completely. There is no way to adjust side-to-side movement, just end-to-end.

Good luck!

I ordered two from two different vendors and no rattle while one of the bending adapters saw a spring give out.

I see people speeding all the time too, but I still realize it's against the rules.

Well the thing is ecigs move a lot faster then other things on EBay at times. Unless someone puts in a complaint about a particular vendor(like the fake flash drive someone tried pulling on me some time back with a 1gb tossed insides a Kingston 256gb casing claiming "his" vendor account was hacked? EBay has no reason to enforce that rule it would seem. It was likely due originally to the FDA considering a total ban on ecigs back in 2009 when they were first coming in through specialty shops and no one knew what the ingredients in the ejuice were! During their investigation they determined more study was needed before any ban would take place as well as the need to figure how to regulate things.

I can't help you on the rattle, but I'm just really surprised I'm hearing more and more people are having this problem because mine is still as tight as a drum!

I tend to suspect the circuit card inside not the button itself is what is being heard if that was somehow jarred loose when being first shipped from factory to vendor and then out to customer where mail sees rough handling at times! Boxes simply get thrown into trucks and unloaded rather hastily! The USPS as well as commercial shipping is always in a haste makes waste mode to get the items shipped and delivered on schedules. Talking it apart to inspect the button, the stem, and the circuit card can be a little tricky and needs special care! But the button itself certainly wouldn't have the weight to make any noise unless something else was loose. I've seen that with other types of electronic devices at times.

A leaky clearo or atty will clear that right up. :)

The only that makes the most sense upon seeing that is the play between button cover which what the square actaully is and the stem that goes into the circuit card. The top is slapping down not sideways against the stem. Or the card is loose on the inside for some reason allowing that to happen. Since the circuit card is generally secured inplace however that entire stretch of film has play and not sticking down fully allowing the up and down slapping sound.

Mine is the same and has been since I got it, if it really starts to bug me I might try the steps aldenf posted. Right now I'm just tuning it out, shoddy QC probably related to the overwhelming popularity and the need to get the units out the door.

It's the button that is rattling, not the circuit card, have a look at aldenf's pics. It's just bad QC in my opinion.

If I pick up any of my five iSticks and shake them---like Mexican maracas---the fire button rattles on all of them. If I treat them like PVs rather than percussion instruments, however, the fire buttons are silent, except for the slight click that indicates firing after being pressed.

I take it that your button rattles when you pick up your iStick or even move it gently?

By the way, and just for the record, my iSticks aren't the only PVs I have whose fire buttons rattle when I shake them like maracas. Others include my MVP2, ProVari, VMax, ZMax, and even a couple of my eGo Twists and Spinners. None of their buttons rattle with normal movement, however.

A design spec probably exists for how much free play or space should be allowed between the switch on the circuit board and the cover button. I'd assume that your iStick was assembled out of spec---sloppy QC.

Exactly bill, it rattles like a baby rattle...lol the movement is only side to side up and down does nothing. I could probably device a tiny shim or even just add some scotch tape to one side of the button if need be but i shouldn't HAVE to.

On the button rattling issue- my latest istick had it really bad. But I put a jwrap on it, and made sure that the carbon fiber was just ever so slightly touching one part of the button on the top or bottom (this is not noticeable by looking at it) and it totally fixed it.

I think just having some sort of wrap putting pressure on the button from any side will keep it from rattling. Worth a shot if someone has a bad one like I did.
