and still no answer on my question above about the top/end caps?
I was looking at the threads in mine with a flashlight and it looks like they have a yellow tint to them. Of course, that could be a reflection off the brass center pin. I thought that KTMRider said that the whole top was made of aluminum or some alloy. He did drill one out. Maybe he'll chime in at some point.

I guess the 30 watt istick is the V2. Price looks good (US$32.50 @Heaven Gifts), spring loaded 510, sub ohm capable, protruding cap means less tank overhang, looks like same size and surely RMS(unconfirmed--lol) plus 30 watts. It kinda looks like they ticked off all the complaint boxes--they work fast in China!

Now you can have a iStick family-- Dad--50w, Mom--30w, problem teenage son--20w and little Sis--10w Mini-- can't wait for the family photos to appear!

The top cap is definitely not made of brass.

Interesting, from the description, they did make some good improvements. Dang, I'm gonna have to buy some of those too.

30W iStick battery mod can reach 30W max output wattage. The spring 510 connector issues better connection with the atomizer. iSitck 30W can also support sub ohm coil thus give you the best vaping experience.

Interesting. I'm wondering whether the chipset has been improved or replaced and the battery upgraded...

I just emailed HeavenGifts to find out if the Mean mode was changed in the 30 Watt. Whenever I hear back from them, I'll get back here with the answer. :)

Interested in seeing how that turns out for you.

FYI; the FDV V4 with the thin landing pad, I personally would not recommend with the plastic top cap, the landing pad covers the screw holes on the plastic top cap.

I'm not sure what you mean. The top cap is some type of metal alloy. It's fairly soft which explains why the threads strip. I used a VariTube 510 with 14mm pad.

The 510 was too long so I had to raise it a couple of mm's to clear the firing pin inside the body. I ended up using a crush washer for the oil plug on one of my motorcycles.

So, like many others, I own both.

On a nautilus 1.8 coil (BVC), I've noticed the vamo is "smoother", with less rattlesnaking than the istick. I vape at 10W on the vamo. I've done some conversions and see that I need to run the istick at 6 or so watts because of the mean vs rms debacle.

I read somewhere earlier on this thread that someone had mentioned that the vamo rattlesnaked more than the istick, but I'm experiencing just the opposite. The istick sounds like it's violently struggling to maintain said voltage/wattage, and the vamo just sounds a lot smoother.

My istick also seems more "spitty" (more juice in the mouth than I would like) than the vamo because of this. I realize that they are both PWM regulated devices, so is this all in my head, or are others experiencing this too?

I really love the istick's size and battery life BTW. I even got the bending adaptor, but the hinge is soooo tight. I got it locally, so gonna go in and find one that opens easier.

Have you noticed the istick powering the nautilus differently than the vamo? My istick seams out of control on a fresh charge with a 1.8 nautilus bvc coil, no matter how low the wattage or voltage is set. The vamo seems a lot more stable and smoother.

Vamo, fresh batteries, 10 watts, perfect. Istick, fresh charge, still too much even at 6 watts (or any voltage setting). I know there's talk about how the istick doesn't regulate down, especially in regards to rms voltage, but holy crap! It's just too much sometimes. I wish aspire made nautilus 2.2 ohm coils, or something.

(I do love the mini though, it's air hole selection is more clicky and locks into place much better than my standard size nautilus)

Just my :2c:... I use the iStick between 5.8 or 5.9 watts with a Nautilus Mini.
On the Vamo, I usually vape at 4.1 Volts in Mean Mode with the Nautilus Mini.
Since I started using the iStick, I've learned to really like mean mode. It just seems to work well with the Nautilus'. It's a shame because they seem to be phasing out the Mean Mode on some of the Mods.
Oh, look at the time. We have 6 more hours of 2014. :)

Thanks for the reply. I guess my biggest concern right now with the istick is that it's very "sharp" for a lack of a better term. It seems to be stabbing the coil very fast, versus gently providing power. Other than that, I've never owned anything that has lasted this long battery wise. I just bumped my vamo up to 12 watts (rms mode), and my istick is at 7w. Both are reading 1.8 ohms on the coil (as they should, becuase they are both being fed a 1.8 bvc nautilus coil). The istick still feels like it's hittin it sharply. It also tastes "wetter" with the istick.

The istick/nautilus mini will still be my out and about rig though. The stick is so much smaller than the vamo, even in 18350 mode, and literally lasts about 5 times longer!

I think your just running your iStick too hot. Try and go down between 5.8 and 6.1 watts and tell me how it tastes. :)
